Happy Worm Moon 🌕💕 I read my tarot cards this beautiful March full moon evening and it was so illuminating. I pulled three: (1) The Star, (2) The Moon, and (3) The Emperor. Such a befitting spread. I’m coming full circle with a lot of things in my life and I’ve been seeing the signs for months, but none as obvious as this. The main message I received from my higher self in today’s reading was actually a message from my younger self saying: “I love myself and the woman I’ve become. She’s a badass. She works hard. She knows her worth. She’s loyal and loving. She’s smart. She’s kind. She’s sassy and witty. There’s no one else in the world like her and I’m lucky she’s Me.”

Today I am taking some time to prepare and set meaningful intentions before beginning the next @manifestationbabe workshop, “It’s Already Yours.” I’ve had goals for months. The same goals for years. And life has continued to pass me by as I’ve lacked the ambition to take action and make my dreams a reality. I want to write more, sing more, read more, learn more, and just do everything that I’m not doing enough more, and do it with flair and fervor. I love Katherin’s workshops and they always get me in the right mindset to make important moves, but the motivation never sticks and I want to change that.

This last week I’ve been listening to her meditations and hypnosis, and I chose today to really get myself and my soul aligned with whatever I am supposed to learn and glean from these next few days. Today I also took some time to read my tarot; write down my manifestation for the week; and plant a little money tree to symbolize the growth I’m prepared to accept, receive, and see. I’m setting the intention to answer two important questions by the end of this week that I’ve never truly taken the time to define: (1) Who am I?, and (2) What do I stand for?

I am confident in myself and the person I am meant to be, but to get to where I am meant to go I’ve gotta pin it down and really delve into what makes me a unique and individual soul. I already know that this week is going to be enlightening; I can feel the change that is about to occur within me. And I’m ecstatic to delve deeper into the person I am by doing some much needed soul searching. 💕💫

My goal for this year is to get more comfortable in my creativity. CREATE has even become my 2022 Word of the Year. Partly because, for the longest time, I would refuse to call myself a “creator” or “creative” when describing what I do to someone. I also never really saw what I did as creative and I never truly felt creative. I didn’t see myself as a “maker of things.” I honestly felt like I was just doing my job — it was all work. I even stopped taking the time to create things as my hobby. I wasn’t writing. I stopped finding furniture on the side of the road and repurposing it. I no longer colored or painted just for fun. I just…stopped. I wasn’t using my imagination. I honestly wasn’t even sure if it was still there. It wasn’t until I started seeing the fun and creative aspects in my work that it started to feel less like just my job, and more like a fun outlet. And, because of that, I even a began to use a free night here and there to paint or write poetry or collage. Nowadays, my purpose for the time I spend creating is less focused on the product or outcome (which I think is the part that makes it all feel like work), but, rather, the PROCESS of it. I’m having fun learning new skills, tips, and tricks, and really pushing my creativity to the brink without a worry of what it’ll get me. And I think that’s was creating really is — an experiment. I’m currently reading “How Creativity Rules the World: The Art and Business of Turning Your Ideas into Gold” by Maria Brito, and, when talking about how Dom Pérignon found success with his wine making, she notes: “Everything interested him. He questioned every method and turned every bottle upside down until he found what worked, eliminated what didn’t, and experimented with new things.” That is creativity. You have to play and experiment with it in order to hone it. And, maybe in the process, you’ll discover something novel that will help shape the future or change the world. It’s a muscle you have to flex, and work to grow and strengthen. I never paint, but today I felt like doing something just because—and that happened to be painting.

Because I never paint I definitely felt like I was in unfamiliar territory, but I decided to let my one goal be that I feel UNINHIBITED whilst creating. I didn’t want to let my brain overthink what my hands were doing.

Perfectionism always holds me back, and I think the fact that paint is so hard to control (unless you have like a super steady hand, a lot of skill, and good tools, which I don’t have any of those things) makes me back away from it.

But when I started to put brush to paper, I decided that I would just use my greens, yellows, and pinks to see what I could make.

For an amateur painter with, like, no vision whatsoever, I’m really happy with this. I felt like I let my inner child out to play without being bogged down by the totality of my perfectionist tendencies nor the will to hold myself back only to give up because I don’t know what I’m doing.

Not knowing where my paint brush was taking me and not caring about it made it so much more enjoyable. I caught myself smiling a few times while working on this masterpiece, and I feel a bit more ✨ILLUMINATED✨ than I did before this painting.

💡 What does it mean to ILLUMINATE?

Two years ago, amid the first rumblings of the pandemic, I gave this space a name.

I wanted to brand it after myself because it felt more right than all of the other names I was coming up with, and—for someone that despises being the center of attention—that was difficult.

However, two years later, the name still feels right. As I return to this place that I hope to continue growing, I needed a little reminder of why I called it what I did.

I also still have no idea how I want to use this space or what kind of community I want grow here, so, with the hope of gaining some insight on the matter, I began meditating on my brand again.

As I meditated and brainstormed the best and most effective way to use this page, I decided to defer to the dictionary and thesaurus for a little bit of enlightenment, as well as a reminder of what it means to really ✨Illuminate✨

It means: * to make something visible or bright by shining a light on it; * to help clarify or explain something that is difficult to understand; * to enlighten spiritually or intellectually; * to make lucid or clear.

Maybe my plan here is to help light the way for you? Or maybe to help create a path that has yet to be made? Maybe it’s my own way to find where I belong? Or a space where I can grow and learn for myself while letting you tag along?

I’m honestly not quite sure where I’m going at the moment, but for now I’ll just keep popping up on your feed every once in awhile as I hone in on my main focus and work to ✨illuminate✨ my path, plan, and purpose here.
