ANYWAY, let me explain what I was cooking here.Initially, this was based on the episode where Kai gets controlled by the bug and goes to fight its mother. Somewhere mid-watch, I thought: since the bug attaches to the head, wouldn't it be cool if it could somehow affect the brain? right?????So here is the main plot: after heavy exposure to the bug (which is why he has mandibles, fangs, and altered arms), Kai ends up in the mother bug's cave with Morro. They almost manage to defeat her, BUT!! The bug uses its last resort: Kai’s damaged and exhausted brain, triggering hallucinations. Hallucinations of Lloyd. Kai, unable to tell reality from illusion, rushes after a random skeleton that looks like Lloyd in his head, trying to save it. Meanwhile, Morro is trying to save Kai while single-handedly fighting a massive insect for the both of them.
Voila.
Since Kai gets mentally and physically weaker by the minute (which we also see in the original episode after the bug's impact), his hallucinations evolve. Now "Lloyd" doesn't just slow Kai down and make him an easy target — he plays on his feelings and memories, forcing him to blurts out everything his damaged mind wants to say.What happens next doesn't really matter — Morro snaps, absolutely fed up with this nonsense. Meanwhile, Kai, desperate to save Lloyd on his own, agrees to let the bug help him again and becomes its puppet. The Master of Wind loses it, PHYSICALLY cuts the bug off Kai, throws away the skeleton Kai was holding, and gets the hell out of there.
They are so toxic to each other and yet

And since I needed to balance the angst with some comedy: freaky Morro OH HE LOVES KAI'S NEW LOOK
