I screamed because this is the representation that was lacking, but what I needed growing up. A brown young lady with kinky curly natural hair playing video games. AND on top of that, she actually wrapped her hair up for bed! This is how brown girls go to bed. WRAP. YOUR. HAIR. The accuracy. Her pajamas are a random assortment of t-shirts and comfy sweat pants. The truth. She has the patented warm, fuffy socks, so she won’t catch a cold “walking on this cold floor barefoot.”

She has represented me more in this 5 second moment then any media has ever done.

Ya’ll keep on sleeping on Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because it dares to add innovation to a beloved series. You’re missing great stuff.

NGL, i kinda forgot i designed this (everything moves so fast!!) but yea I really wanted April to look *EXACTLY* how I look when I go to bed, even down to the head wrap!

this year i’ve been feeling like a garbage sandwich about my art... like running on a treadmill... but i went and found some art I've done during the last part of this year and I’m like, wait no I’m just where I need to be. I was trying to reach the school’s extreme standards and not trying to reach my own small personal goals...

A couple months back, I got the opportunity to pitch and make a black history month short for Sesame Studios, here's some art I did for it!!

I did the preproduction part, like designs, boards, bgs.. stuff like that! And I made the bases for the puppets used in the animation!  (I even got to sneak in my passion for texture painting, thanks Sesame!) I’d also like to thank Euralis Weekes for all the animation and post work that she did!! She came in clutch!

But yea, I really had a ton of fun and I hope to do more stuff like this in the future, maybe ... someday!!!

Film season is starting to creep up on us, so here’s some stuff I have for it currently!

It’s about these 3 kids who find a corrupted VHS tape. Theres also a cordyceps covered zombie.

Here’s something I did for my character design class! We had to do a new take on The Tortoise and The Hare, so I changed it to the Hobbit and the Human.

So.. I made these a while back when Rouge One was announced, I was a bit salty that there were no black or poc female characters in this movie or any of the Star Wars movies... so I took it on myself to make my own!

No offense to Jyn Erso, or any of the other female mains, but its getting kind of repetitive...

Here is my final character design assignment from the Disney TVA internship!

We had to design some of the characters from J.K. Rowling’s short story; Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I chose to design the characters William, Isolt, younger Isolt, and Gormlaith. You can find the short story HERE. 

I want to thank my mentors Taylor and Bobby for setting this up for us, they didn't have to, but they did and I really appreciate that!! 

And thank you to everyone that my internship experience awesome!!
