Sapnin'! I'm Alex and I make stuff! I’m mostly a writer but I also draw and am hoping to make comics eventually! :^) Here's some stuff about me:
Genderqueer (they/she/he)
Disabled (AuDHD, dyslexic, Schizo-spec)
Originally from the north of England so please read all of my posts in your best Jon Snow impression
Had this blog since around 2019 (Fun fact: it was originally a Good Omens fanblog) but been on Tumblr since about 2013/14 (<- old)
I have a degree in English Literature (with Creative Writing) and genre fiction is one of my special interests :^)
I love video games (Soulsborne, Zelda, Pokemon, Skyrim, Stardew Valley, etc etc) or watching other people play video games lmao. I also love D&D!
As for writing, I write in a couple different genres but my favourites are high fantasy, cyberpunk, apocalyptic fiction! I'm also a fan of all kinds of horror and really enjoy seeing (and trying!) interesting blends of different genres too! I also do most of my rough work/first drafts in script so I'll likely be posting a mix of prose and script.
I've got a few WIPs and you'll find my masterpost with a little info about each of them under the cut! My main WIP is 'Project Arcana' a high fantasy/cyberpunk comic series! This project is my life, 90% of my posts are about PA so if you follow me I hope you like it lmao
I'm also open to tag games and the like! Feel free to tag me in stuff, send asks, do ask games, etc etc. :^)
COMIC WIPS
Pitch: A cyberpunk/high fantasy comic series that follows the story of a ragtag group in corporate-owned E-City as they're called upon by the Gods - and perhaps something even more ancient - to find the Great Evil of this era and fulfill the prophecy of its defeat, however, Good and Evil are not as predictable as the Gods believe, and some people will do anything for a little control over their own destiny.
WIP INTRO: Here!
STAGE: Scripting! Currently on version 4.2 :^)

Pitch: An isekai/slice-of-life comic that follows the story of Alison, a 58-year-old closeted lesbian, who discovers a new love for life after she's killed in a plot-mandated traffic accident and subsequently transported to a fantasy RPG-esque world where she embarks on a brand new adventure.
WIP INTRO: Coming Soon
STAGE: General outline done, currently completing episode sheet outline.

Saturniidae: A mysterious purple fog creeps across the British countryside and lulls anyone who breathes it in into a deathly sleep. (#apocanauts: saturniidae)

Pitch: High fantasy novel. At centre of the country of Ferralon is a tower atop a mountain surrounded by a thick, bramble forest. According to thousands of years of myth, legend, and tavern gossip, there is something valuable beyond imagining at the top of that tower guarded by a fearsome beast. If you're brave enough, smart enough, strong enough, to navigate The Blackwood, scale Mt Rosard, slay the beast of the tower, and climb to the very top room on the top floor, then the tower will see the deepest wish in your heart and grant you your greatest desire.
WIP INTRO: Coming Soon
STAGE: Character concepting and outlining.

GAME/VISUAL NOVEL WIPS
[So, these are super outside my technical skills as of writing so I probably won't post a lot about them rn BUT I added them to the masterpost anyway bc I still like them and will work on them one day lol]
Pitch: A 'Persona'-like RPG/dating sim. You and your friend, Isaac, end up in the world of Aecreon after you're accidentally summoned by a student at Silverlake University and the university's principal offers you both scholarships to study an adventuring degree.
As a scholarship student, you must put together an adventuring party from your classmates and help everyone pass their field exams by proving your skills in the dungeon underneath the campus, while also trying to find a way back home.

Pitch: A metroidvania-style platformer that follows the story of Kit, a red-cloaked Mage with the ability to summon a magical magpie familiar, navigating the dangers of a post-apocalyptic world and trying to solve the mystery of the Red Fox - a trickster who seems to know more than she lets on about the end of the world.

Pitch: A visual novel/dating sim/psychological horror set in the same universe as Project Arcana.
You move to E-City and manage to get a job at a local student bar. On your first shift you meet some interesting women; Marley, a long-lost childhood friend and your new coworker; Kat, a flirtatious regular; Ari, a small-time model hoping to make it big in the city; and Jenna, a quiet, studious girl who took a wrong turn.
Though love is a wonderful thing it doesn't come without its challenges, even under normal circumstances, and there's something haunting your every step that you don't know how to talk about - and perhaps, underneath it all, something even more sinister at stake.
has anybody else noticed that the classic sci fi novel Don’t Create The Torment Nexus features a Torment Nexus? that’s pretty problematic of the author
Imagine going on a movie date with a girl and she shows up to the movie theatre with a big huge fuckoff suspiciously large purse so you assume she’s maybe sneaking in snacks but the movie starts and you look over and she’s in the middle of a knitting project. She gets up halfway through the film to use the bathroom and accidentally knocks over her bag and balls of yarn go rolling down the aisle in the empty movie theatre like tumbleweeds and you have to go running after them. I think I’d marry her.
If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.
Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.
At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.
Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Miners’ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to “encourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community […] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.”
guys i’m so sorry to say this but exercising and indulging in hobbies rather than scrolling on your phone for 200 hours actually does improve your mood and overall mental health, this has deeply upset me more than anyone

The problem with this approach to world-building or world-nonbuilding is that there’s no such thing as a storytelling choice that has no implications. And personally I find “I’d rather not think about cultures different from my own, unless it’s to put myself in the hegemonic position of an otherwise identical society” to be a fairly distasteful implication
