An poetry anthology zine of poetry I wrote about my own struggles with overwhelming nature of a world that I am still yet to understand. I hope one day I won’t feel like I am drowning anymore.

This the Zine I created by mixing my fine art sensibility and my experimental poetry that I have written over the years.

Remembering Story (it's all okay now), Alex Underhill, December 2020,35mm projection installation, duration: 1.40

Remembering Story (it's all okay now) uses the same techniques as forgetting Story, printing onto acetate, and mounting in 35mm slide mounts. However, where it differs is its use of visual language; I've already talked about the poem I used is based on trauma and how I hope that vulnerability starts a conversation and as a unique quality to my work. I have also mentioned the queer theory of forgetting and remembering and healing in non-linear patterns. These two concepts come to roots in this project. Vulnerability, forgetting, remembering, healing, and damaging. I struggled when videoing this project and why the camera is not level as I was slightly rushed. I wanted to address how I would install these two projects as they are installations first and foremost, rather than videos.  I would have the two installations project on walls that face each other, projectors in the middle of the room. I would have seating in the middle mimic a cinema to capture that aspect of storytelling. The audience could choose which projection to face. Both of the projectors would be on a timer that is out of sync with each other; Remembering Story being 45 seconds between slides while forgetting Story would only be 20 seconds. Recollecting the duality and division between the two projects.
