Currently reading: When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy.
Having to force myself to put this down and not read it all in one night even though I easily could. I knew from the second I read his book Mary that he was going to quickly become one of my favorite authors and I'm not disappointed.
A few days into the month but this was my April reads. My favorite reads in the month were O Sinners! by Nicole Cuffy and Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle.
If I had read Nickel Boys prior to reading Tananarive Due's Reformatory, I likely would have liked it a lot more. The horrific stories have strong parallels, however the additional elements in Reformatory tip the scale in its favor for my personal taste!
A modest haul from Independent bookstore day 2025 in Central Iowa. A book passport with 9 bookstores on it and make a purchase at each to complete your passport. It took seven hours which included driving, shopping AND a stop for pizza at a local pub.
Reading the book club book for the month, The Fervor by Alma Katsu, while slowly dying in agony from pelvic pain that no one can do anything about.

March reading round up.
I was in the precipice of adding a few more to the month of March but I got into the middle of too many books; Artificial Condition from the Murderbot Diaries, The Salt Grows Heavy, and a childs/YA read Wildwood.
Captured this beautiful image on our bird buddy because the finches and sparrows are eating me out of house and home.
Decided to use it as inspiration for my daughters daily lunchbox note and can't help but imagine that this bird has a Brooklyn accent.

February reading round up.
Obviously, I was a bit obsessed with Dungeon Crawler Carl. I devoured the series in just under a month, which was no small feat as that is a total of like 4,000 some odd pages.
I need to throw a little more variety into my reading schedule for March but I'm pretty happy with how consistently I'm picking up books or putting on an audio.
I was also happy to get The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston off my TBR. Very cute read, but please tell me I wasn't the only one screaming the whole time?
