the simmering anger in that glare, the way she inhales through gritted teeth and leans her head back, as if to stop herself from crying. the hastened steps that quickly turn into a full on sprint when chisato screams for the enemy to run away. the way she gasps for air and stumbles forward, leaning down and scooping up the pistol. she starts firing wildly with reckless abandon, a sharpshooter missing all her shots as emotions so new to her cloud her mind. she has to get to them in time, she has to get the heart, she has to make sure chisato lives. then chisato comes barrelling in, tackling her in an attempt to stop her, she begs for takina to stop, holding on as takina thrashes in her arms, fighting and struggling and shaking in an effort to escape, she screams, voice cracking as she tries to convince chisato. they're getting away and with them is chisato's only means of survival, takina has to do this, she has to kill him, it's the only way chisato will live. the barely concealed tears build up in the corners of her eyes as she pulls the pistol up and fires and fires until her clip runs out, gun clicking as she keeps desperately pulling the trigger. and then that screamed sob, so angry and scared and lost, it's ear-spliting and blood-curdling and heart-wrenching and desperate and so very scared. because they're leaving and chisato is going to die and takina couldn't save her in time. chisato holds her back in a hug as she screams and shakes and struggles until she becomes slack, arms falling limply to the side as she falls back into a sit. chisato finally breaks through to her, telling her that if she lived by taking his live it wouldn't be her, it wouldn't be living at all. and takina ducks her head down and cries. she doesn't want this, she doesn't want chisato to die.
