♥ BRICKME’s thanks-for-2000-followers RIBON FUROKU and SHOJO BOOKS GIVEAWAY! ♥

I’m giving away some books and a mishmash of Ribon furoku I own which fall outside of my own collection, chiefly because they were made in the 00s and later. :) Believe me when I say this is a big mishmash – all sorts of artists, series, years, and styles! If you’re familiar with Ribon, you’ll be familiar with these artists, but if not, these things are still super cute for anyone who likes the shojo manga aesthetic.

PRIZE 01: misc 80s-90s Ribon furoku set These are doublets from my own collection, and are not mint or complete – but they’re still hard to find items, and very very cute! Artists included are Ikeno Koi, Mizusawa Megumi, Yoshizumi Wataru, Sakura Momoko, Hagiiwa Mutsumi, Honda Keiko, and more.

PRIZE 02: misc 2000s Ribon furoku set A ton of cute furoku that I can’t even make a complete list of, because there’s so much! Most of these items are unused and in very good condition. Artists included are Tanemura Arina, Maki Yoko, Sakai Mayu, Haruta Nana, Sonoda Konami, Maekawa Ryo, and more.

PRIZE 03: a set of 2 shojo manga books These magazine-size, glossy books contain information about and images of 70s and 80s shojo manga, as well as interviews with Takemiya Keiko, Narita Minako (Cipher), and Igarashi Yumiko (Candy Candy). Super fun to look at even if you don’t read Japanese!

Some notes regarding Russian in this post:

However, before that I’d like to mention that Russian here is mostly formal and some options given are rarely used in spoken Russian unless you are a lawyer or something.

Here are some better options for you if you study Russian:

#11 all in all - this is usually короче or в общем; a more formal variant would be в итоге

#12 at that rate -  такими темпами or если так будет продолжаться

#15 by way of - in Russian, it heavily depends on what follows after. It may be translated as по, ради, в целях, в форме, в виде, в качестве, типа and so on.

#16  by no means -  никоим образом не, ни в коем случае не or ни в коей мере не depending on what you’re concerned about.

#17 by the same token - с тем же успехом (or таким же макаром :))

#21 for a change - is usually  наконец-то.

#24 for one’s sake -  is usually ради (кого-то), sometimes it can be translated as за (кого-то)

#29  in view of -  this is usually учитывая (что-то)

#33  in the way of -  is usually что касается

#34  just the same -  it depends on the context. It maybe expressed in Russian as и на том, всё равно, тем не менее

#40 pure and simple - should be written as просто-напросто

#41 such and such - should be just такой-то

#44  so… as to -  настолько… чтобы is used if “so” is followed by an adjective

#45  then again - впрочем or с другой стороны

#47 whether or not - this may be expressed by using ли  - for example, Мама спросила, справится ли он с домашним заданием сам - or just by adding или нет - back to my example,  Мама спросила, справится он с домашним заданием сам или нет.

# 50 what with - there is a mistake in Russian here, should be written as принимая во внимание. And it is better translated into Russian as из-за
