Patients at BC Children’s Hospital were delighted by a visit today with one of the world’s most famous pirates, Captain Jack Sparrow. Hollywood actor Johnny Depp arrived at the hospital dressed dread to toe as his character from “The Pirates of the Caribbean” movie franchise. The charismatic character charmed patients and their families alike, leaving smiles and laughter in his wake during his 5 ½ hour visit. [x]

You are a good person. You are a weird person, as in a nonconformist person, but a good one at heart, ready to help others, offer anything you can. And you reach age 53 knowing deep inside you you are a good person. Something happens, you’re accused of doing something bad by someone you hold (or held) dear. But you’re 53 and you have more than done your deed and you feel betrayed.

So screw it! You have reached that phase in your life that those who won’t stick by you, those who are ready to believe the accusations, those who are ready to throw you aside “just because” those are not worthy of you. The others, the people who will award you because they have seen the goodness of your heart, those who will support and defend you because they know you, and the part of the audience who’s not sheep guided by what is trendy and like you of who you are, those people are more than enough. The others can go fuck themselves.

And all this came to me while thinking about the Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Award and how, regardless of the last four months, the people there have known Johnny Depp and are ready to say he was there to offer assistance and love and support. And they offer their support back. Because they know Johnny Depp is a good person.
