Royal Wedding | Katherine Worsley on her marriage to Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent, 8 June 1961. The wedding dress was designed by Irish designer John Bryan Cavanagh (1914-2003). The dress included a dramatic 15-foot double train edged in satin. The dress was crafted from 237 yards of diaphanous French fabric that shimmered. Cavanagh also created the wedding dress of Princess Alexandra of Kent in 1963.
