This side blog is meant to be a fun and cool little creative outlet for me whenever I feel like writing short, and messy stuff—such as HCs and/or reader inserts! ^^
If you'd like to see some of my more polished works, you can check out my main at @taruchinator!
Here's a small FAQ section to check out and yeah, hopefully we can all enjoy ourselves with our blorbos on this journey we call fanfic! Thanks and byeeeeee~
FAQ
What fandoms will you write for?
You may find some of my current hyperfixations in the bingo card here. But I honestly have SO MANY things I like, which you can check in a more extensive list on my carrd! Feel free to shoot me a DM about anything specific, though! :D
Do you write NSFW?
Indeed I do! Love me some spicy content—hence why this blog is recommended for 18+ for legal reasons (plus my own sanity lol) 🌶
Do you write non-romantic things?
Yeahhhh sorryyy but nooooooo 👉👈 I adore shipping with a passion, so HCs and reader inserts will always feature the characters with a S/O!
Can my request be super specific/really vague?
Ofc! I love having free reign for my own creative interpretation, but it's also nice to have something specifically planned from the get go. The sky's the limit! :3
“I requested (insert request here) and you haven't written about it!”
Again, this is meant to be a fun space for me and all of you! Which means, I always have the right to refuse a request for any number of reasons—it's icky, I just don't like it, can't think of anything for it, etc. That's why they're called requests~
“I left a request a LONG time ago!”
Since this blog is meant for me to come and de-stress (hence the occasional reblog or funny meme), I sometimes won't have time to get to your request as quickly as I'd like—I appreciate your patience and encouraging words! 🙏

Shoka and nervous jitters weren't exactly the best of friends.
Her life had always been mundane and repetitive ever since becoming a Reaper—both in Shinjuku and later Shibuya—so any feeling other than the occasional amusement whenever an interesting player showed up on her turf was foreign to her.
So when her new job at Gatto Nero takes her all the way to Mexico just in time to celebrate the Day of the Dead, all she can do is hope she does her dearest friend justice in crafting the best ‘Altar de Muertos’ the town has ever seen.
Or, Shoka makes an altar for Ayano while on a business trip with Shiki and Eri.
A relieved sigh escaped Aoyama's lips as he snuggled closer into his boyfriend's chest. “Merci, Izuku…”
It took a full five seconds before the comment registered in his brain, and when it did, the One-For-All Hero could feel heat rising to his cheeks at an exponential rate. He must have been quite obvious, since Aoyama turned to look at him with an inquisitive eyebrow. “What's wrong?”
“N-Nothing's wrong!” Izuku almost squeaked in reply, but never pulled away from their embrace. “You just… called me by my first name…?”
Or, after being comforted by Izuku when having a nightmare, Yuga involuntary calls him by his given name for the first time.
☀ Post-PJO/Pre-HoO & Pre-Relationship! (technically written for @solangeloweek's free day)
Will Solace from Cabin Seven was an enigma.
Ever since they met, it was almost as if he'd made it his personal mission to pester Nico whenever he was at camp—asking if he'd eaten anything, dragging him to campfire sing alongs, nagging whenever he showed up with injuries the size of a paper cut.
And now archery lessons were being added to the list, apparently.
“Enjoying the view over there, di Angelo?”
Or, Will drags Nico to the Arena to teach him the art of archery, but the Ghost King gets distracted by... other things.
Despite expecting a battle when involving himself in the situation, the intruder did not move an inch. His posture remained stiff, but Caelus could definitely sense that he was being watched from inside the armor. An older woman's voice suddenly broke the silence between them when speaking from a communicator in the man's helmet. “SAM, what's your status?”
The armored individual—SAM, based on what his colleague called him—hesitated for a moment before replying into his own earpiece with a hint of despair. “Kafka, we've got a problem. He's still here.”
Or, what if Caelus turned down the offer of the Express and stayed at Herta Space Station as a researcher, only for someone from his past to come by and pay him an unexpected visit.
Angst? In MY HSR fanfic?! More likely than you think!
I've been meaning to do something for Caefly FOREVER ago, and the Hoyoverse exchange gave me the perfect excuse to do so!
“The World Outside Your Window” A Juliana/Penny Fanfic
🌱 General Audiences
🌱 1.2k Words
🌱 Written for the @ensquare-events Jingzhe Zine!
Penny has never been an outdoor kinda person.
She'd much rather spend her free time cooped up in the comfort of her dorm room along with her Veevees. Still, when Juliana says she's got the perfect thing to get her out of her introverted cocoon, the bespectacled girl begrudgingly agrees.
What could possibly go wrong?
Hello every-nyan! ^^
I'm super happy to get to share this short fic I wrote for a fun speedrun zine all about BUGS! It's Jingzhe, which means “awakening of the hibernating insects” and is the third solar term of the Chinese calendar! 🐜
tags: fluff, childhood friends to lovers, telemachus is a dork, athena ships it, flower language, and some lore for the actual goddess of joy
artwork by Gigi on YouTube!
It all happens one day when you're still very young.
After a particularly stressful day working alongside your sisters to please Lady Aphrodite, you can't handle the pressure anymore, so you travel to the island of Ithaca to clear your head.
It doesn't register in your brain that you've been crying until you hear a boy's voice calling out to you asking if you're alright. It's a mortal, obviously—a boy who appears to be your age, at least physically.
“Why are you crying?”
“I... I'm tired of trying to make others happy. I just want to be the sad one for once.”
You know you aren't supposed to mingle with mortals, so you keep your responses vague in hopes of satisfying his curiosity while not giving too much away.
But it wasn't like you were lying—as Goddess of Joy, you are expected to bring happiness to the hearts of everyone around you—Aphrodite included—, and it can sometimes take a heavy toll, especially since you haven't been using your powers as long as other Gods have.
The boy stares at you for a moment before running off somewhere in the field of flowers you've been sitting in, only to come back with both a small puppy and a pink peony in hand. He hands you the flower with a smile.
“My mommy says it's okay to be sad sometimes, so don't beat yourself up over it. I think this one would look pretty on you, though!”
You take the flower, give it a look over, and then turn back to the boy with a smile of your own. That's when the puppy leaps on top of you and starts slobbering you with kisses, much to the boy's dismay but your delight.
Since then, you decide to pay Ithaca visits more frequently whenever you aren't busy, successfully meeting up with the boy again and again to play.
You finally learn who he is—Telemachus. The prince of the land and son of Odysseus, progidy of Athena. Whenever he talks to you about his father, you can see the pain in his eyes of having to be sitting around waiting for a man who may never return. You decide to use your powers once in a while to help cheer him up.
It isn't until his thirteenth birthday that he finds out who you are.
“You're a Goddess, aren't you?”
It catches you by surprise, but it's not unexpected. Telemachus is smart, so it wasn't like he wouldn't find out eventually. After revealing your true self, all he does is sit down and listen, just like he did when you met all those years ago.
“I'm sorry I never told you. I... I liked being your friend without the pressure of a title between us. I didn't want you to treat me any differently.”
Telemachus doesn't do anything other than pick up a flower from the field you're both sitting in. A purple orchid which he tucks behind your ear with a smile, making you stare in awe.
“Goddess or not, you're still my best friend! I'd think you'd know me better than that by now.”
“Haha, I do... what even gave it away?”
“You're always showing up outta nowhere and people seem much happier whenever you're around, but like, in a super quick way! Besides, there's no way someone so pretty isn't a goddess...”
It's immediately clear that last part wasn't meant to come out because pink is now covering Telemachus' cheeks, causing you to flush as well.
More years go by and you begin to share stories with him about the Gods in Olympus—how Zeus is a womanizer, Poseidon looking scary but actually being a secret softie, and of course all the beef you have with your ‘boss’, Aphrodite.
He's always so eager to listen to whatever you have to say because of his dream of becoming a noble warrior, and will also comfort you whenever you're in a bad mood.
You try doing the same when more years pass and there's still no sign of his father. You offer to use your magic to help, but he says all he needs is a friend willing to listen, so that's what you become.
Whenever the suitors are giving him a hard time, you use your powers to make them be as sickeningly sweet with one another as possible, that it sometimes looks like they're in love. You and Telemachus get a crack out of it every time.
It's you who goes to find Athena when Telemachus is fighting Antinous, begging her to come help because there's really nothing you can do on the matter. She really doesn't need much persuading, though.
You can only thank the Gods that he's fine all things considered, but seeing him all battered up with cuts and bruises all over his body breaks your heart. You're immediately by his side with a washcloth and fresh clothes so that the wounds don't get infected despite his protests.
“I-I'm fine, really! Ow!”
“You will be fine once you stop moving!”
Athena chuckles in the background as you turn to her. She's giving you a knowing smirk, causing you to look away with a blush adorning your cheeks.
Once they start their training together, you're there cheering him on from the sidelines, which kinda backfires because according to Athena “we don't need any distractions”. You apparently fall under that category, and Telemachus is covering his face all the time but you swear you can see red on the tips of his ears.
Once Odysseus finally returns home, you're surprised to see Telemachus make his way to you as you're sitting in your usual spot.
He sits beside you and seems to be fiddling with something hidden in his robe. You can't see what it is from your angle.
“Aren't you going to spend time with your father?”
“He's with my mother right now. Something tells me they're going to be a while...”
“Right, I almost forgot. She must be overjoyed! But... are you okay? I saw what happened in there and...”
“Hey, I'm okay. Athena's training paid off. I'm tougher than I look, ya know?”
He then proceeds to comically flex his muscles with a wiggle of his eyebrows, causing you to laugh at this adorkable human being. You thank the Gods that you were born in the same time period as him, because now you can't think of a life without him in it.
That's when you notice the nervous fidgeting again and he's even started to advert his gaze after the little joke he pulled off. It's strange considering he's never been the shy type—when he's got something on his mind, he'll speak up no matter what.
“Are you sure you're okay, Telemachus?”
“Y-Yeah, I'm fine! I just... wanted to give you something. As a thanks for everything you've done for me.”
And before you can say anything, he's pulling out a flower from behind his back and placing it behind your ear. You can only barely register what it is before it's out of your sight: a red rose.
“You're the most amazing person I've ever met. A-And not just because you're a Goddess! You've always been there for me even when I don't ask you to, and have my back no matter what. You're just really nice, and funny and kind... I-I..”
You can't take it anymore and before your mind registers what's happening, you're already kissing him.
As you pull away, both your faces are as red as tomatoes and you can feel the smile on your face turning large and goofy. Giggles erupt from you both.
“I love you...”
“I love you, too...”
“And I love how long it took you two lovebirds to admit it.”
Athena's owl is gazing at you both and it almost sounds as it's chuckling while you two hide your faces in each other's shoulders.
Coming to Ithaca was the best decision you could've ever taken.

Happy belated Valentine's to all my besties out there who've been cursed with having the love of their life be a video game character T_T
Phainon
Doesn't have the slightest clue what Valentine's even is until you teach him. One of the downsides of living in a world disconnected from the rest of the cosmos, you suppose.
Rest assured though, once he gets the gist of it, he's showering affection all over you for everyone to see, much to your dismay.
He asks you to be his Valentine in the middle of Marmoreal Market, kneeling down and offering you a red rose as your face practically combusts from the grand gesture, all while people stop and mumble at the scene.
“P-Phainon, everyone's staring!”
“Of course they are, αγάπη μου. They can appreciate true beauty when they see it.”
Your room has been filled to the brim with presents of all kinds once you come back from training later in the day—flowers, desserts, trinkets, you name it and it's there. Tribbie actually complains to you, wishing you never told Phainon anything in the first place. You can take a guess as to who helped him set everything up.
Once he's done with his own duties, the Chrysos Heir visits you and is ready to take you out to have a romantic evening on the streets, but after seeing how exhausted he is, you can't help but giggle and suggest you stay in and cuddle instead. He's all for it.
“It's not much compared to everything you got me, but here you go.”
With Aglaea's help, you ended up weaving him a new tunic, specifically a chlamys for whenever he went out on expeditions with colder temperatures.
His eyes light up as he grabs the garment, shoves it to the side, and gently pulls you against his chest with a content sigh leaving his lips. You return the gesture gladly.
“You are too good to me...”
Aventurine
This man will pull no expense when it comes to you. And honestly, would you expect any less?
Want some flowers? He's bought you an entire cart. Chocolate? He scoffs at you saying you only having a ‘small craving’, so he comes home with at least two crates worth. Jewelry? Has no problem in getting something valuable with all his connections.
Despite you telling him he doesn't have to get you all this stuff—even though you're grateful and love everything he gets you—he'll just chuckle with that darn teasing smirk of his.
“If a Stoneheart can't spoil their loved one on Valentine's Day, what good do all those earnings do me?”
Did I also mention he's doing all of this while still at work? He texts you to make sure you've recieved the gift, and then gets back to his own business.
Suddenly, Topaz of all people messages you with a reservation for a fancy restaurant and asks you to “please tell your idiot to focus, we're in the middle of a meeting” and all you can do is apologize profoundly.
Despite the evening being filled with lots of luxury, Aventurine eventually takes you out into the balcony to have some privacy as you relish in each other's presence. Contrary to popular belief, the blond doesn't like big crowds—he can manage being social only for a while for his job, but will then retreat back into the comfort of your arms to relax.
That's when you decide to give him his gift.
“...W-What's this?”
“You didn't think you weren't getting something from me, did you?”
You wrap a bracelet around his wrist encrusted with Garnet—a gem that symbolises love and devotion. Aventurine seems to understand the meaning because for a fleeting moment you can see Kakavasha, the man you fell in love with, staring at you with nothing but utmost dedication.
He places a kiss at the back of your hand with a smile that makes your heart leap with joy.
“You are truly the most beautiful gem I've ever found in this galaxy...”
Jing Yuan
Unfortunately, due to his position as General and being confined to the Seat of Divine Foresight, he can't actually go out with you anywhere for this special occasion, much to his dismay. You completely understand, but he's much more saddened about it than you are.
This doesn't mean he hasn't made arrangements for you to receive the very best on this day—flowers are sent to your house by the time you wake up along with a handwritten letter, all delivered via Cycrane.
“I apologize for my absence for such a marvelous occasion, but hopefully you can find it in your heart to forgive me with the tokens of appreciation I have planned for you. Happy Valentine's Day, my dear.”
The rest of the day is also pretty much luxury after luxury—from a delicious gourmet meal, to beautiful Lafou accessories, to even a beautiful flight via starskiff courtesy of Madam Yukong.
It's at this moment that you decide it's just not fair for you to be getting all the attention, so you decide to enlist some help from Sushang to carry out your new plan.
After visiting plenty of hot spots in Aurum Alley, the two of you are able to come up with a small meal that will hopefully satisfy your lovely general. So after thanking and bidding your friend goodbye, you head for the Seat of Divine Foresight.
It's already dark outside by the time you arrive, so you're almost worried that Jing Yuan might have already left for the day. But you are very much wrong once you go through the double doors.
You see him working his way through paperwork at his desk, a somber and almost exhausted look in his eyes which breaks your heart slightly. Once he notices your presence though, it's as if his energy has been rejuvenated, because he's smiling at you just like he always does, albeit there's a hint of curiosity in his gaze.
“I figured the General of the Cloud Knights didn't have lunch today.”
As he looks at the bag of takeout in your hands, he chuckles softly as he stands from his seat and reaches you in mere steps. A kiss is placed upon your lips and all you do is hum in delight.
“You never cease to amaze me, my love.”
Sunday
He's freaking out by the time the date arrives because he's never had anyone to celebrate such an occasion with—he's never loved anyone as much as he loves you.
Since you two haven't been together for that long, he's asking the members of the Express for insight into what things you might like and just general advice on how to showcase his affections.
You can imagine the chaos that ensues from that.
The whole day he's shifting from one personality to another, presumably to see what best suits your tastes and trying to be as romantic as possible—he tries (and fails) being suave and unbothered as he gifts you a bouquet of roses.
He tries cooking something using Himeko's recipes, and you and the entire crew are pretty sure you'll be dead before the food reaches your plates.
It isn't until he has you cornered in your room and tries (and fails again) to be flirtatious that you finally push away from him and ask why he's been acting weird all day.
He shrinks under your gaze.
“Forgive me, I just... I've never had anyone I've wanted to show my devotion to on a day like this. I only wanted to give you the best, but didn't particularly know how...”
“So you asked March 7th for advice?”
The pink on the tips of his ears is enough confirmation. You're going to have a talk with that girl about taking advantage of their newest member.
“I wasn't expecting anything from you, Sunday. Just being together is enough for me. I love you and I know you love me, so, isn't that enough?”
He stares at you as if you've just uncovered the secret of the Aeons, and a smile instantly lights up his face while he brings your hand to his lips to kiss. You giggle at the sensation.
“You always know what to say. Thank you for loving me, my dove.”
Dan Heng
Always found the tradition to be unnecessary and, quite frankly, sometimes even a scam. There's no need for a specific time of the year to showcase how much he loves you—he tries doing that every day!
But he doesn't want you thinking he doesn't care, so he's sure to knock on your door at the exact moment he knows you'll be awake, where you open up and he greets you with a bouquet of carnations and a box of chocolates he purchased on their latest visit to Belobog.
“Happy Valentine's Day...”
“You don't seem too excited about having to say that.”
“W-What do you mean? I—”
Before he can continue to fumble with his words, you go back into your room and start digging through your drawer of knick knacks, and come back with a book in hand. You hand it over to him and Dan Heng instantly recognizes it.
It's a hardcover edition of one of the books he already owns on the history of Penacony. The Express had gone back a few weeks prior for some business—them being shareholders and all—and you saw the way your boyfriend's eyes lit up in curiosity when seeing for the first time, but he ended up putting it back.
“This is...”
“To be honest, I wasn't sure if we were gonna do anything for Valentine's, so I just bought this as a random gift. You never get things for you, so I figured, why not?”
You then suggest to head downstairs to grab some breakfast to take to the Data Bank so you can eat and have a chill morning of light reading.
The Vidyadhara is looking at you as if you grew a second head, but then he smiles that one smile that's only reserved for you. You return it eagerly as you close the door to your room and interlock your fingers with his.
hi!! i was just wondering, do you write for crispin (pokemon sv)?? you’re the only person i’ve been able to find who’s still decently active, so im js curious <33
Hi there! ^^
I'll take this ask as an opportunity to properly apologize for not ACTUALLY writing anything here for quite a bit 😅 Work and personal issues have gotten in the way and I've found myself with plenty of writer's block regarding some requests.
I can't guarantee everyone's requests will be fulfilled since I'm just not vibing with all of them tbh, but everyone is more than welcome to leave them in my ask box regardless! I'll try and catch up with them as soon as I can 💜
Which brings us to the actual question—YES ANON, YOU CAN TOTALLY REQUEST CRISPIN STUFF! The BB Elite Four are some of my faves to delve into, and I always love excuses to dig into their characters 🤭
Will see y'all hopefully soon with more HC/reader inserts. Stay safe!
The moment those three words were sent to Izuku via text message, he panicked. As he ran through the city with a million thoughts going through his mind, he could only hope that Katsuki was alright.
All those worries were quickly put to a halt however, as soon as he opened the door to their shared apartment— Greeted with the sight of Katsuki Bakugou huddled in a nest of his own making right smack on their living room couch.
Hey hey hey! Welcome back to more fluffy DKBK! ^^
This piece had to be a lot shorter than what I'm used to, since it was a pinch hit for the BNHA Planet Exchange, still it really helped me push my limits of fitting things into a certain word count 👍
My giftee Rayne wanted Omegaverse, and it's honestly something I've been meaning to delve deeper into for a while—this time though, fluff will have to suffice. We can get into spicy territory later 🔥🤭
As he closed the door behind him, Deku smiled and let out a sigh as he rubbed his temples. “You know, you could've been more specific in your message, Kacchan…”
“Get home asap.”
The moment those three words were sent to Izuku via text message, the young man panicked.
He immediately excused himself with his boss Enji, apologizing profusely and explaining that there was a situation that required his attention back home. The older man didn't mind at all, especially considering the day at the construction site had been quite slow when it came to new clients, and so he dismissed Izuku with the reassurance that they would be fine, but did ask him to call if he needed anything.
With that out of the way, Deku was running through the city with a million thoughts crossing his mind—Katsuki rarely messaged him while on the clock, so it couldn't be helped if the freckled man was worrying.
All those worries were quickly put to a halt however, as soon as he opened the door to their shared apartment.
Greeted with the sight of Katsuki Bakugou—his husband and most badass man he'd ever met—huddled in a nest of his own making right smack on their living room couch.
A blond head peeked through the pile of clothes, one of them Izuku recognizing as his All Might Christmas sweater, revealing the grumpy expression of the man he loved. “Took ya long enough, nerd!”
Everything finally clicked into place: the text, the nest, and most importantly of all, the cinnamon scent that was wafting through the air around them. Izuku had to contain the chuckle that wanted to erupt from his chest at not connecting the dots sooner.
Back when they were children, the status of Alpha, Beta or Omega was still up in the air for the dynamic duo. Both were late bloomers, yet by the time middle school came around, Izuku wasn't the slightest bit surprised at the fact that Katsuki had presented as an Alpha.
What was surprising, was that he ended up presenting as an Alpha as well.
Alphas in Izuku's family were incredibly rare, yet fate seemed to want to throw at least one more curveball into the boy's life. One in which his already improbable dream of becoming Katsuki's mate was now totally impossible with the two of them being Alphas.
At least that was his assumption until they entered high school, in which one night Izuku ended up walking into the public bathroom at midnight and stumbling upon the sweetest smell his nose had ever detected. Musky, earthy, and with a hint of cinnamon that had the teenage boy completely enamored.
Once he found out the scent was coming from Katsuki, who had just come out of the shower and stopped in his tracks like a deer caught in headlights, one thing was now crystal clear. His crush was actually an Omega.
Fast forward to today, where despite Katsuki still having issues admitting his status to himself and their close friends, had come to a better understanding and even embraced it whenever his heat came around, which was actually the reason as to why he'd taken the day off work in the first place. The fact that he forgot was perplexing to Izuku.
Izuku laughed and kissed the top of his lover's head, pocketing the phone and getting ready to devote himself entirely to the person he admired the most. “Your wish is my command, Kacchan.”
Katsuki merely wrinkled his nose, clearly much more comfortable with the scent of his Alpha finally in the room, but still trying to keep his cool with a scoff and roll of his eyes. “Tch! And risk one of those extras overlooking our business? They'd never let me live it down!”
With a giggle Izuku approached the nest with caution, being mindful of where he was stepping as he made his way over to the blond. “So clothes weren't enough this time around?”
“I used every goddamn shirt in your bin and I still couldn't get comfortable. Tried holding off but figured you were almost off, so…” Katsuki trailed off with a blush adorning his cheeks, trying to avoid eye contact yet still welcoming the warmth and comfort that his mate brought him. Izuku wrapped his arms around the other male, releasing his scent into the air in hopes of comforting the other. Based on the happy sigh that was released, it was working. “What did Enji say?”
“That it was okay. You actually saved me from a boring day at the site. Nothing to do but demolition work and wait for new calls.” Izuku placed his head above Katsuki's and nuzzled it gently, feeling his own body being soothed at the idea of having the Omega in his arms. “We could always get you some suppressants, you know? Maybe they'd help manage these better whenever I'm not around…”
“Fuck no, those things give me headaches and don't let me focus the next day.” Katsuki was happy to return the nuzzle as he breathed into Izuku's neck, causing them both to shiver at the comfort it was bringing them. ‘Safe’ wasn't enough to describe how they were feeling at the moment. “'sides… I know you'll pull through for me if I need ya.”
Izuku's heart melted at the words. Katsuki's heat made him much more emotionally vulnerable, but the freckled man knew they were his true feelings. Just things he'd normally never say out loud. And so he treasured them with all his being whenever they came around. “Of course I will. I love you, Kacchan…”
“Love you too, nerd…”
The rest of their evening was nothing but uneventful, resting in each other's arms and falling to the wonderful depths of sleep that they deserved. It wasn't until he awoke hours later and checked his phone that Izuku noticed a few messages from their friends, asking if everything was okay.
Deku could only smile at how much they cared, and simply replied with affirmations and thanks so that they wouldn't worry. Katsuki, still nestled into his arms, raised his head to look at him. “This couch is too cramped. I wanna go to bed.”
If there was one thing Izuku loved about owning a library, it was seeing passionate book lovers such as himself gather together in one place.
If there was one thing Izuku didn't love about owning a library however, it was the troublesome visitors.
He didn't even have time to react before the Demon known as Rody Soul was standing next to him, smirk growing across his face. “Hey there, angel~ How's it going?”
Ladies and gents, who's ready for some funky BNHA crossovers? xD
I had the pleasure to participate once again in the BNHA Planet Exchange, this time focused on lots of fun AUs, such as this one with one of my current hyperfixations: Good Omens! So many good ideas came to me at once, but I settled for this one.
Enjoy! ^^
If there was one thing Izuku loved about owning a library, it was seeing passionate book lovers such as himself gather together in one place.
Groups of people from different ages and backgrounds would flock to the tiny building—usually after school hours—and take the time to relax by happily chatting amongst themselves, with the occasional book in their hands for either an academic project or simply the fun of it. There were even quiet introverts who had become regulars, and were recognized and greeted by the owner and others alike.
It was all such a small welcoming community, yet it always brought a smile to the man's lips.
If there was one thing Izuku didn't love about owning a library however, it was the unwanted visitors. Well, ‘troublesome visitors’ was the most appropriate term.
As he was handing a bag full of tomes to a young girl to read over the weekend, Izuku's mind almost instantly sharpened, his senses going on high alert at the presence of something not quite good, but that he recognized quite well. He didn't even have time to sigh before a brunet male appeared almost out of thin air, leaning against Izuku's desk with a smug smile across his lips.
“Hey there, angel~ How's it going?” The man's voice was like melted butter, soft and smooth as he eyed the other with curiosity. Izuku however, was caught off-guard by something else entirely.
“R-Rody! You can't just—!” He angrily whispered in the man's direction, before remembering he still had a customer in front of him. He turned to her with a nervous smile and wave of his hand. “Sorry about that! I hope those can help you with your homework! We're closing now, so you should head back.”
It was in fact, nowhere near time for the building to be closing. But almost as if everyone inside had heard Izuku's comment, one by one they all bid their farewells and started to leave, much to the owner's appreciation.
As soon as the final person closed the door behind them, Izuku instantly locked it with a flick of his wrist. He let out a sigh of relief, while the brunet next to him whistled as if he were impressed, not having moved an inch from his position since he arrived. “Miracling people away just cause you're tired and wanna close early? Not really good for business, angel.”
Izuku's frustration returned full-force as he remembered he was indeed not alone. With a huff and turn of his heel, he turned to the other with a pout as he jabbed a finger into his chest. “You can't just call me that out in the open! You could blow our cover, Rody!”
Rody didn't seem the slightest bit phased at the other man's display, instead opting to let out a chuckle as he rolled his eyes. “Aw come on, I've been calling you that for eons! It's not my fault the humans started using it as a pet name. Heck, that actually makes it less suspicious…”
Izuku rubbed his temples in slight annoyance at the comeback. There was another thing he loved about owning a library: it served as a distraction from his angelic duties.
Izuku wasn't actually human, but an Angel—a Seraphim, if you wanted to get technical—and he had been living on planet Earth to watch over humanity for thousands of years at this point. And he wasn't the only one, either.
So one could say that they were a sort of Ying-Yang situation, balancing each other out and always finding ways to mess with the other's plans unintentionally. And despite it being annoying for the first couple of centuries, the duo realized soon enough that there truly couldn't be a ‘Good’ without an ‘Evil’, and vice versa.
Rody was a Demon, sent by Lucifer himself to watch over the humans and make sure to bring out the worst in them, securing more souls for their army in Hell.
As such, they formed a truce, and even an odd form of friendship that no one in either Heaven or Hell knew about. It was sort of comforting in a weird way for the Angel, as he now had someone he could confide in when it came to things he found fascinating about humans and how much they'd advanced from their forefathers.
And yet, Rody was still a Demon, and as such would sometimes push the limits of Izuku's kindness. Such as right now.
“Just... Tell me what you want. I'd rather get home as soon as I can without any more inconveniences.” Izuku lifted his gaze to meet Rody's, who for a moment seemed to freeze in place, before shoving his hands into the pockets of his long coat.
“Now I can't come visit a friend without having some ulterior motive? Ouch. You wound me ‘Zuku, truly.” Almost to emphasize this point the brunet placed a hand over his chest as he leaned back with a wince. The Angel was not impressed.
“Of course you can visit! But forgive me if I'm a little weary since every time you do, I've had to either miracle something away or lend you stuff.” Izuku could already recall the times he got Rody out of sticky situations—getting rid of angelic injuries, letting him spend the night at the library, buying him groceries whenever he claimed to be hungry even though their bodies didn't require food—the list was extensive.
The Demon chuckled as he finally moved from his space at the desk, this time walking towards Izuku and slouching his shoulders backwards. “Okay, okay! You got me! Let's get something to eat and we can talk about it there, whaddaya say?”
Another sigh. “I already told you I wanna go home. Might be surprising to you, but I'm actually tired from all the miracles I had to pull off today. If it's not that important, then we can talk about it tomo—”
“NO!”
The sudden shout brought the Angel out of whatever sleep his body was about to pull him into, making him turn to his companion in surprise. Rody never shouted like that. He also sounded… nervous?
It must have been an instinctive thing, since the brunet's eyes were as wide as saucers as well. He tried regaining his composure, but the damage was done. Izuku has spent thousands of years with this being to know all of his ticks. “What I meant to say was that your house isn't the best setting for this! How ‘bout somewhere more open like say… The Ritz? My treat!”
“Rody…” Izuku approached with caution, eyes expressing concern but also seriousness. What had the Demon so on edge? “What's wrong? Why can't we just talk here?”
“Because here isn't—!” The words got caught in his throat as both males flinched at once, as their senses quickly picked up something… supernatural. It took Izuku a millisecond to know what it was, but as soon as he did, his blood ran cold for a slight moment.
“The Council…”
“Fuck, they're here already…” Rody mumbled under his breath, coming to the same conclusion that Izuku had. He turned to his companion with worry lacing his eyebrows. “Listen Izuku, just tell them I came in to cause some havoc and you tried to stop me but I got away. I'll sneak through the back and hopefully lead them away—”
“Huh?”
“No.”
Izuku held his gaze firmly on the main entrance's locked door. “Go to the kids section and hide your aura as best as you can. I'll cast a barrier and get them out as soon as I can.”
The Demon could only stare flabbergasted as he let his mouth run wild. “Are you crazy?! If they find out you were covering for me, you'll—!”
“Let me worry about that! Just hide!” Izuku turned back at him and practically hissed out the words in command. Rody stood still for a moment, before quickly nodding and running to the designated area.
As soon as Izuku felt his presence arrive, he closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh, focusing his energy on that particular spot and covering it with Holy Magic. That should buy them some time while the Angel had a conversation with his superiors.
The Council rarely set foot on Earth themselves, since they sent Angels such as Izuku to be their eyes and ears everywhere. Which was why them being here, outside his library, was nerve wracking to say the very least. Still, knowing Rody, he couldn't have done anything that bad. He just messed with the wrong crowd this time.
Using his powers to unlock the door, Izuku stood in front of his desk, wearing his best smile as he called out. “Come in!”
The doors flung open, with a pure white light emanating from them, before two figures made their way inside.
Both were female—one with long jet-black hair held in a ponytail that carried herself with grace, while the other had short black hair and a more casual yet powerful aura surrounding her. Izuku recognized them instantly and greeted them accordingly. “Yaoyorozu! Jirou! What a pleasant surprise!”
Yaoyorozu—the woman with the black ponytail—returned the smile with one of her own. “Greetings, Midoriya. We apologize for the intrusion.”
Hearing his true angelic name was almost nostalgic for the man, but he was quick to continue the conversation. “It's no problem at all! If anything I'm honored to get a visit from The Council; well, at least half of it, hehe!”
There were indeed two other members missing, but it made sense for the ones to be here to be Yaoyorozu and Jirou. You would rarely see them separated even in Heaven, so if one came, the other was sure to follow.
Speaking of Jirou, she took a look around the shelves full of books absentmindedly. “We're looking for a Demon who was seen coming in here. Might know anything about that?”
“Ahhh a straight shooter like always…” Izuku gulped while looking at the women in front of him. Yaoyorozu usually took a more mellow and kinder approach to things, while Jirou was as blunt as ever when it came to a job getting done.
“Now now Jirou, let's explain first.” Yaoyorozu giggled at her companion's rash behavior, but then turned to Izuku with an ice cold stare, hidden behind the facade of a warm smile. “We're looking for the Demon known as ‘Rody’. He's stolen something of value and our informants told us he seemed to come into your library. You also might know him better than any of us, considering you've both spent practically the same amount of time down here.”
“Not to mention how this place reeks of hellspawn…” Jirou reaffirmed her statement with a wiggle of her nose, still standing her ground next to the other woman.
Turning to Jirou this time, the Angel scratched his cheek in embarrassment. “As for the smell, unfortunately I had a shipment of tampered fictional novels arrive. I was planning to get rid of them tomorrow since I'm honestly quite tired from all the work from today.”
Izuku reflected feign confusion at their inquiries, now grateful he'd taken Shakespeare up on his offer of drama lessons back in the 1500’s. “I do indeed know the Demon Rody, but no one has come to the library today other than humans. I always make sure to place a barrier spell to prevent that kind of intrusion in the first place.”
The women stared at him, most definitely trying to dissect him for any lies or inconsistencies. All Izuku could do was hold his breath and pray, which was very ironic in a situation like this.
It was Jirou who ended up breaking the silence, finally smiling for the first time during their arrival as she placed both of her arms behind her head. “Well, guess that settles it then! Must've been our bad! We should probably get going to that restaurant you wanted to check out, right Momo?”
Yaoyorozu's face gave a hint of red due to the comment. “M-Momo?”
“If we're down here and checking things out, we need human names, remember? I'm Kyouka and you're Momo!” The short haired woman replied with nonchalance as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. It honestly made Izuku feel like a third wheel for a moment.
“Ah yes, you're right! I'd nearly forgotten!” Yaoyorozu clasped her hands together and gave a smile at her companion, before turning back to Izuku. “We'll be on our way then! Good work so far, Midoriya! Those human souls are bound to obtain redemption as long as they keep coming here under your watchful eye.”
Izuku blinked twice, before returning the smile and letting out an airy chuckle. “M-My pleasure! I hope you'll enjoy yourselves!”
And just like that, the duo of powerful Angels left the building, leaving Izuku frozen in place for a few extra minutes, just to be absolutely certain they were out of reach. Once their auras were no longer detected by him, he let out a sigh of relief, which in turn removed the protective barrier around Rody's area of the library. “They're gone…”
Just like Izuku, Rody was cautious as he peeked his head into the main room, turning back and forth before finally walking beside him. “Holy shit, we're still alive…”
“You can say that again…” The Angel was still coming to terms with the fact that he had lied to his bosses’ faces. “Are you alright?”
“I should be the one asking that, angel.” Rody's eyebrows furrowed with concern, but then a small smile that made Izuku's heart skip a beat placed itself on the Demon’s face. “But yeah I'm good… thanks to you.”
That made Izuku smile in return. Good. As long as Rody was okay.
… Wait a minute.
“Rody?”
“Hmm?”
Izuku placed both hands on the brunet's shoulders, before instantly shaking them back and forth in frustration. “What on earth were you thinking?! Stealing from Heaven?! You can't be that stupid, can you?!”
As Rody was being pulled back and forth like a ragdoll, he quickly pressed his hands on top of Izuku's to try and stop the Angel's movements, which was only semi-successful at best. “I-I can explain, alright? Just gimme a sec!”
And so, once Izuku came to a stop, Rody used his own demonic power to summon something out of thin air.
A book.
“Here.” Rody handed it over, a blush covering his cheeks slightly. “For the record, I didn't steal it! I made a copy of it and the real one is still upstairs, but I got caught before I got the chance to leave…”
Izuku raised an eyebrow as he accepted the tome in his hands. What could possibly be so important to risk his life over?
As he turned to look however, the answer became clear.
In his hands, Izuku was holding the ‘Book of Prophecies’. It was a forbidden volume that was said to have been created by the Almighty, which described in great detail future events that were meant to happen—be it on Earth, Heaven or anywhere, really.
And yet here it was. Resting in his palms.
The Angel had always been extremely curious to see what it was about, him being a bookworm not being helpful in the slightest. Yet he knew he'd never be able to since no one except The Council was allowed to see it.
Izuku turned upwards with a look of pure confusion, not even being able to find words to communicate properly. “Wha—? Why—?”
Rody chuckled softly at the reaction, scratching the back of his neck once again. “You kept babbling about how much you wanted to see it, and well, I've… I've been meaning to ask you to have dinner with me anyway, so I figured I just needed a good excuse.”
Izuku stared, mouth agape like a fish out of water as he kept looking from the book to Rody and back.
He thought he needed an excuse to ask him out?
And this is what he came up with?
Honestly, he shouldn't even be surprised at this point. Rody was a mischievous soul with a hidden heart of gold, which was honestly one of the many reasons he loved him so much, despite how annoying he could be at times. This gift was something he would definitely do, and that made it even more special.
Izuku could only smile as he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the side of the brunet's cheek. Seeing the adorable shade of pink spread where his lips had touched, the Angel giggled. “Well, I believe someone suggested The Ritz? I hear it's lovely this time of year.”
Rody had to reboot for a few seconds, before a smile of his own spread across his face, leaving the Angel absolutely starstruck. “Y-Yeah! I'm sure there'll be a spot for a pair of misfits.”
Once they left the building under lock and key, the Angel and Demon walked side by side, fingers barely touching as they made their way towards their destination.
Izuku couldn't help but wonder if a relationship between them was something the ‘Book of Prophecies’ would've foretold. Well, even if it hadn't, he was more than happy with the results.
It just gave him an excuse to get to reading it as soon as he got home.
Reservations didn't miracle themselves, after all.
