I know the movie did away with it, but book-wise, how much is having Jacob and Renesmee around going to mess with Alice's visions going forward?
All during the pregnancy she complained about having a headache trying to see the hazy future involving Renesmee. Is this still a problem? Could she not see because of the reason Alice proposed (she can see vampires because she is one, humans because she used to be one, but she can't see shifters or hybrids because she's never been one) or was Renesmee's future just so tied up with Jacob's that it would have been blocked anyway?
Are Edward and Bella's futures also going to be hard to see because Renesmee is presumably always in them?
I always thought Nessie’s whole thing is she can project what she wants regardless of truth. So she can project happy loving thoughts so her father doesn’t wanna kill her in the womb. She can project a child’s innocent cravings for a sweet treat so Jasper doesn’t clock her bloodlust. And finally, she can show Aunt Alice whatever vision she wants her to see.

Part of the fun of Twilight is the process of Bella figuring out the ~mystery~ of what’s weird about Edward (besides the obvious freak traits <3). The intrigue adds to the thrill of the emotional rollercoaster. We as humans relate to Bella the human being fascinated by someone’s apparent inhumanity.
So you’d think that we’d lose any air of mystery in Midnight Sun since we’re in the vampire’s head, right? WRONG. We’re in the vampire’s head and there’s no question as to what Bella is, but ☝️ Edward is in a position that’s unique even to vampires: thanks to his telepathy, he’s out of practice in figuring out who someone is. The mundane concept of getting to know someone you just met has been made 5,000x more complicated by Edward’s nature.
Furthermore, Edward pays much more attention to the changes he goes through than Bella ever does when she’s the narrator. Bella is who she is, which includes being a human teenager. Change is to be expected. The fantastical circumstances of the story push her traits to the extreme, but she doesn’t really surprise/question herself too much. But Edward? Bella rocks his world so hard he now has to figure out Bella’s character AND deal with some serious shifts in his outlook after almost a century of being stagnant.

Sometimes I think about how Edward Cullen could hear everything going on in Bella’s body, especially her stomach digesting. Her gastrointestinal activity. He knew when she had to fart. He knew when she was trying not to fart. He knew the fart was coming before she did.
Bella knew he knew that and honestly this explains why she was so easily flustered like imagine having explosive diarrhea during the third book and knowing not only your boyfriend and his family can hear it but also your best friend and his family / friends who are keeping watch outside your house can hear it I would simply perish
Something so funny about rereading one's own unfinished fics. Like wow this is pretty good! Almost as if it was written exactly according to what I personally like in fact! Someone should finish it!

I havent seen the twilight movie in forever but oh my god why would they do this to them they look so deeply uncomfortable
The director’s cut said this was unintentional but I loved this detail when I first saw the movie. Imagine showing Edward’s supernatural side by just having him do increasingly not human things. He has an entire conversation with Bella where he’s too busy staring at her freckles to notice his hand has been on the hot electric stove for a solid five minutes. He forgets that feet get cold and accidentally shows up to school in Old Navy flip flops. In the middle of winter. In the Pacific Northwest. He pulls a Percy Jackson and goes to sit at the bottom of the local swimming pool only to scare the hell out of the lifeguard on duty after he’s submerged for well over the normal time. Just, Edward being innocently unaware of when he drops the human charade.
I just watched the entire Twilight series for the first time and, not to be dramatic, but I will never forgive the internet for convincing me Edward doesn’t care about Bella. That man was pathetically obsessed with her; he did not take a minute to try and die the second he thought she was dead. Man was prepared to swear off sex with his wife because he thought he hurt her. He is a boy loser.
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think if Bella had lived with Charlie she would have picked Jacob and stayed human.
I also don’t think her life would have been “better” if she lived with Charlie instead of Renee.
Bella may have inherited Charlie’s personality but she’s also Renee’s daughter and like Renee, if the opportunity comes up, Bella will willingly pick adventure over a quiet life.
Bella isn’t normal. She should have been frightened when she learned Edward was a vampire but she wasn’t. If anything it seemed to make her love Edward more. She’d pick Edward in every lifetime.
Me: [pacing] But Bella kissing Jacob back in Eclipse fascinates me because, paradoxically enough, it shows me just how Bella/Jacob would never work out in the long run. For one thing, she doesn’t respond to Jacob’s kiss until she senses his unbridled joy at his (mistaken) belief that she is kissing him back. And to me, that illustrates the difference between her love for Jacob versus her love for Edward. Bella still loves Edward, even when she 100% believes he no longer loves her or wants to be with her. Her love for him is not solely based on what Edward wants or desires (although those do greatly matter to her, of course). With Jacob, though, his needs and desires do matter, because to Bella Jacob is family first and a lover second. This means Bella subconsciously treats him as she does her parents: Taking care of him emotionally and putting his needs before her own. It’s Cinderbella all over again. But unlike them, Jacob is more capable and even has cool shifter powers that can defend her from any threats. Unlike Bella’s friends, Jacob notices things about her and cares about her. That is a massive upgrade from Bella’s current situation. Jacob also has the advantage over Edward in terms of being near contemporaries with Bella, of roughly the same social status. But it’s not enough. A human life with Jacob is still a human life: Cooking, cleaning, and eventually childrearing. That will worsen Bella’s parentification and I think deep down she knows it. I don’t know, does that make sense?
