Drawing Lloyd hasn't been particularly easy. He's not fully human, but he's also mostly human. He's three fourths human, the last fourth is half dragon and half oni, so he can't look super different, but he can't also look 100% human, since it's established his non-human genes will affect things like his lifespan, it's not out of the realm of possibility that other things about him would be affected. My way of reaching some sort of balance is making it so that he's born looking mostly human and gradually looks less human as time goes on. It's like after being exposed to the elemental energy of the golden weapons something deeply hidden in his DNA awakened and made his physical appearance change (which is why he's saying becoming the green ninja came with a beauty update) I imagine the only dragon-ey thing he's born with is his pointy ears, which yes, are strange, but they don't really give away that he's not fully human straight up (though I am still working on when the whole oni/dragon thing should be explained in my au) and the first thing to change after he becomes the green ninja is his eye colour, but it doesn't happen overnight. His eyes start becoming green slowly, like the green starts creeping into the black and looks a bit janky for a while. Then he just kinda gets fangs? It's a big struggle for him to get used to them, but at least he looks somewhat cooler. Finally he becomes beautiful. I really like to draw and design beautiful/pretty men and I couldn't not give him beautiful hair and long lashes. My justification for that is that he needs to look non-human and I strongly believe the shape of the eye/lashes can make a character go from looking normal to looking gorgeous. The bigger drawings are meant to be a progression through Lloyd's looks. The smaller drawing is him at his youngest, the next one would be him from season three to seven (season eight and nine would just be him with the longer hair I've drawn him with before) and the last is him from maybe season ten to who knows how much I'm gonna work with from the wildbrain era. Yes, his last hair is very different, but I wanna talk about that in-depth later on after talking more about Pixal and another (original) character. I wanna write more, but the post will get too long for the character limit, so this'll do for now. Thank you for reading! - Fox

Baby oni are called fauns and oni culture places a very heavy emphasis on keeping them safe and happy because they are small and frail and need a few years to get their bearings and the world is big and scary and full of dragons ready to kill right out of the egg

once weened and able to walk, it’s natural for oni fauns to hunt small animals to supplement their diets if their parents aren’t feeding them enough. Lloyd did this as a kid and misako pretended not to notice because she knew it was normal and had no idea what to feed him besides normal kid food. Darkleys trained it out of him and by the time he joined the ninja he’d stopped completely, and so even though a growing oni really needs more than three human portions of food that’s only half meat he never hunted again. If he hadn’t stopped he would be a lot taller and a lot more bulky. Maybe even almost Cole’s height post-tomorrow’s tea.

all the other characters have normal skin tones but the first spinjitzu master’s true form is actually Lego head yellow because his dragon parent was a golden dragon.

Just like the Firstbourne, The Alpha is still alive. He's currently in the first land, he abandoned his goal of conquering the realms because his species is nearly extinct.

All he does now is drink coffee like a depressed mob boss.

Ninjago Headcanon:

Eye color headcanon for the people of Ninjago—

Lloyd’s bright green eyes are a very apparent feature that is noticeably different than the others

The people of Ninjago only have (varying tones of) grey eyes

Green eyes, Blue Eyes, Brown Eyes, all don’t exist in the realm of Ninjago

So Lloyd’s especially bright green (sometimes glowing) eyes really is something insane to see by the people of Ninjago and another reason why he is seen as this icon or even a legend bc he has features that are straight up otherworldly (outside of his dragon/oni forms even)
