I will start by saying I do not like love triangle thrope and can live without it but since Cassie had a kind of triangle, quadrant or whatever in every series

And we kind of ruled out Ash-Dru-Jaime thing out. Even with less than 3 chapters we have so far, she thinks of her crush on Jaime as a youth thing and considers him a good friend.

It is truly bold of the whole Fandom to assume we will not have triangle out of Kitty because that would be so excruciatingly painful for every single reader out there and Cassie knows it...

I know we discussed this with first with Anush then Kit's "maybe werewolf" girlfriend in years past but these are also out of question now.

And Kitty are unquestionably the worst at miscommunication so their ball of anxiety will have us rolling for the next 4 years and we know it

And ever since I read Better in Black, The time of two in particular I have been thinking

There is this boy who's around Kit's age, looks just somewhat like dearly departed Max Lightwood, who is the cousin to the Consul and who likes stars...

I am not saying Noah would choose a Shadowhunter live, according to Cassie we won't have much Shadowhunters left by the time TWP ends

But still this has been bugging me for a few months now....

Dru seems to have an almost natural aversion to having spells set on her particularly with Ash's true loyalty and love spell which didn't seem to affect her, even her flower card being "Mountain Ash" is steeped in symbolism with the plant being used in many cultures to ward off evil and even.... enchantments.

Why could this be?

1. Pure will.

Hear me out: Drusilla has a rebellious and outspoken personality by nature. She doesn’t tolerate lies or deceitfulness. CC even said Dru is going to be a confident character who goes for what she wants. I think that, naturally, Drusilla fights the enchantment through sheer willpower. In both of her encounters with Ash, her anger and annoyance override the spell's effects almost instantly as she believes herself to be in true danger. This could also cause a secondary effect where her memory is also wiped as the spell fails to take hold. It keeps erasing her memory as a default until she starts being loyal and loving to Ash.

2. Descendant of Lucie Herondale

Though Lucie and James powers were cut off at the end of TLH because of Belial's death, there still are small amounts of demon blood in the Blackthorn line. There could be traits that could still show up generations later, Ty looking like Jesse blackthorn for example maybe there is potential for magical traits to pop up? Drusilla being resistant to enchantment would be a very cool inherited trait and make her unique from her siblings narratively.

3. Dru is too pure hearted to be enchanted

Drus character could be reflective of the pure and virtuous knights of the round table, particularly ones like Sir Galahad who represents the pinnacle of knightly virtue and spiritual achievement in Arthurian legends. He was the one to actually achieve the holy Grail quest in a few legends. He was known to also be completely resistant to enchantment because of his virtuous and uncorrupted nature being the purest and best of knights. Drusilla is called the heart of the family by Julian (he's so sweet). She uses livvy's saber :⁠'⁠( , and it's theorized she might also get the Blackthorn family sword which would super badass. I believe it could also serve as symbolic knighthood of sorts. She's literally carrying her family's love and hope in her hands while in battle.

I think out of all the twp characters she's going to be the most undaunted, serving as a hopeful beacon to the other characters even when things will get really bad. She's their safe space.

Since its midnight and my brain in running 1000 miles an hours

I HAVE A THEORY:

First let's line the facts

1) We know from synopsis Ash abducted Dru

2) We know from Forever Fallen that Janus wants to abduct Clary and Seelie Queen promised to help him

3) It is mentioned an abduction that "shook the shadow world" had happened in the other promotional information posts

4) We got a snippet that Janus considers shooting Dru with a crossbow while she is standing next to Clary

5) Dru gets abducted on a night dancing in Pandemonium with Clary, Thais and TMI gang

SO YES QUEEN AND PLANNED TO TAKE ONLY CLARY

AND ASH ADDED DRU BECAUSE HE KNEW/REALIZED SHE WAS THERE

I think he knew due to Livvy coming to Dru to get her out of the club before something bad happens.

There are 2 ways she would know this

Either she saw Seelie soldiers or Janus lurking around

Or (and most likely) she saw Ash landing somewhere close by and she probably saw him around the Shadowhunter Academy before just wasn't sure who he was watching probably made sure by his look towards Dru or saw him look at Julian's drawing of her

So she thought he came for her and was trying to save her before he gets too close

SO INTENDED ABDUCTION WAS ALWAYS ONLY CLARY AND IT MAKES SENSE THAT HER BEING TAKEN IS A REAL BIG DEAL..

my headcanons for how each of the blackthorns will react to dru and ash because i love them all and this is the kind of thing i think about

helen: reluctantly supportive. she's protective over her younger sister but as a half-downworlder queer woman she knows what it's like for love to not be accepted

mark: honestly i can see this one of two ways. the first is that he doesn't care at all and he's just curious as to how that happened. second is that he's extremely upset because of what sebastian did to his family.

julian: very overprotective. he wouldn't get it at first and would be about ready to kill ash (if ash didn't have his power) but once dru explains it to him he understands and is accepting.

livvy: she's reluctantly excited for dru. a little scared at first but she thinks it's kinda cool that she's dating a faerie prince

ty: similar reaction to julian except i think he would need a little more convincing that ash isn't a threat.

tavvy: idk since i feel like we don't have much of his personality considering he's 7 in tda but i think he would just be a little weirded out by it but would come around and eventually treat ash as an older brother.

This is the full story of After the Bridge, a tale for those who might have wondered what Tessa and Jem did after they met on Blackfriars Bridge in the epilogue of Clockwork Princess. If you’ve been waiting to read it until it was done, it is now done.

Those who do not like Tessa&Jem together or Jessa sexytimes probably should skip this. (You will not miss anything that will affect your understanding of later books.) Those who like that sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like.

After the Bridge alternates POV between Jem and Tessa. This is Part Five, the full story. As this is one short story and not chaptered, each post will contain the whole story from the beginning up to the point where that part ends so that new readers or readers who don’t remember what happened won’t have to hunt down the previous post(s.)

post tda has been mostly kitty snippets..seems like we get so much content full of love/angst for one couple but the other while druash fans are just waiting in agony for some crumbs is all 🥹

love kitty! but..i also love THE sebastian morgensterns son & THE drusilla blackthorn just as much 🖤

I have heard the same thing from Kitty fans since the first thing that was shared — the chapter sampler that went into the back of Better in Black — was all Dru! (And some Ash.)

The problem with the Dash teasers (and everything Kitty past about chapter 2) is how spoilery they are. And I am under something of a geas from my publisher about snippets, though that will change after BookCon (a pretty big sampler will be given away there, and so after that we can discuss more of what's in it!)

Here is something eensy — I am not able to post more than eensy, and that goes for Kit/Ty too!

“My family would never stop looking for me, either,” Dru said, even though she knew the words were unwise. 

“Just your family?” Ash said softly. “Is there no one else who loves you?” 

Dru blinked. “Are you asking if I have a boyfriend?”

jocelyn "i should have killed sebastian when he was a baby" fairchild, with all her guilt, all her grief, all her pain, looking at her grandson from a distance, watching as he smiles and laughs, as he stares with so much love at the girl beside him, watching as he fights and endures and defends those he loves, green eyes bright and defiant, watching as he cries and breaks downs when he holds the body of the man who was more a father to him than his own true father ever was, watching as he and Nene embrace, mother and son reunited, tears and laughter on both their faces. She watches, and watches and watches. Always from afar. Never close enough to touch or speak. And she doesn't think it fixes anything. It doesn't lessen the pain and destruction Sebastian wrecked in the world, it doesn't assuage her guilt. But. But. There would be no Ash without Jonathan, without Sebastian. And as she gazes at her grandson, she can't bring herself to regret his existence, the softness of his smile when he looks at Dru or Nene, the warmth in his eyes which is (he is, really) nothing short of a miracle.

If Cassandra Clare WERE to make Ash the first ever STRAIGHT FAERIE in the entirety of TSC, not gonna lie that would be so hilarious because other faeries would be so puzzled by the MERE concept😂

Other fairfolk be like 'wdym you're only attracted to ONE GENDER??'

But, in my opinion: Since Ash pretty much became overly fascinated/fixated/borderline obsessed for Dru ever since they met(VERY BRIEFLY) for the first time, he probably wasn't able to discover whether or not he was into others.

Basically, he got too down bad too quick and early that he never found out whether or not he swings the other way😅😂

THINGS I WANNA SEE IN TLKOF #1

A scene where Julian and the other Blackthorns are worried out of their mind because Dru has been kidnapped by Faeries.

In Chapter One of TLKOF, we saw how the Blackthorns and Emma were already so worried when Dru went missing for three days.

How much more when Ash kidnaps her for God knows what reason (he probably just wants her around tbh, and that's literally the only reason for the kidnapping lol😂), and she's gone/missing for sooo much longer?

The Blackthorn siblings would probably be SCRAMBLING to find her FAST.

I mean, Helen knows the story(well, Andrew Blackthorn's perspective of it) between their dad and her and Mark's mom - she is aware of the deceitful and cunning nature of some faeries and how they might try to harm Dru.

Mark was forced to join the Wild Hunt - and before Kieran helped him out he was practically being tormented for just being part Shadowhunter. So he would be worried because he wouldn't want Dru to go through that🥺

No question, Julian would be so freaked out because they would have no idea or clue where Dru is and where even to start looking for her in Faerie.

Ty would be worried for her. He and Dru got so much closer since QoAaD after Dru did her best to be closer to him - because she was worried he'd be so shattered after he lost Livvy. And Dru is the only sibling Ty can talk about Ghost Livvy to, since Dru's aware he did necromancy to try to bring her back.

And poor Tavvy would be worried because one of his siblings who looked after/took good care of him the most (aside from Julian), is now missing and it isn't certain when they'll see her again. Dru is probably the closest sibling to Tavvy since he views Julian as more of a father-figure.

MEANWHILE:

Dru's out here getting the Princess Treatment from Ash(getting pretty/gothy dresses, being treated well by the Faerie servants because Ash told them to, is treated more like an important 'guest' tha a 'prisoner', etc.) in Faerie while she's wondering who the F this guy is and why the F is he so nice to her😂

THAT CONTRAST - THE EXPECTATION VS. REALITY WOULD BE SO HILARIOUS I SWEAR-

You guys know what's hilarious about Mogernthorn?

The fact Ash is low-key ALREADY obsessed with Dru😭

They've literally only interacted TWICE:

1. When Dru accidentally transports to Faerie in Lord of Shadows and meets Ash for the first time while he's held captive by the Unseelie King.

2. When Dru accidentally transports to Faerie in Chapter One of TLKOF and is protected by Ash from the goblins. And he sends her back to Shadowhunter Academy safe - while also giving her a brooch for the 'proof of Faerie presence' so she could pass Luke's test(he didn't have to do that, but he did!)

ASH basically:

1. Has a drawing of Dru that Julian drew and dropped in Thule - and he keeps it in his pocket and stares at it from time to time (Like in Forever Fallen)

2. Is confirmed to kidnap Dru in TLKOF based on the TLKOF Description.

3. Gives Dru the prettiest dresses to wear while she's in Faerie with him - as shown in the TLKOF Cover and the art in the Barnes and Noble Edition(those dresses are def from him, I'm calling it!)

4. I also recall a tweet from Cassandra Clare that Ash had sent a pumpkin to Dru before with a knife in it??(Please correct me on this or send me a screen shot of this tweet from CC if you have it🙏) - and it's supposed to have some like romantic meaning (for Faeries) while Dru thinks there's someone out there threathening her🤣

While DRU on the other hand:

Literally forgets about his existence after each encounter🤣

Curious, what do you guys think about this?😂
