Sage, Thyme, Bell Peppers and Lavender have been added to the babies!!
Happy Easter!

indoor gardening starter guide
Hello internet people!! I have finished my first starter guide ! This guide has info on indoor gardening. My focus was mainly budget friendly and space friendly approach. I decided to cut out a fair bit of information for this first one that will go on future guides, so if it feels limited, let me know what you'd like me to expand on first, and ill get working on those first!!
Gardening With No Yard A Guide by Losttimesnail Table of Contents Why Indoor Gardening? (2) Containers (2) Lighting
I also plan to offer formal printed versions w an art print on my etsy, just so that if people want to say thanks with a donation they can!
But I want the information to be accessible no matter what, so this online copy will be up and available regardless of what paid options I make! PLEASE print a copy yourself!! print media is so valuable, and online hosting sites change their policy all the time.
PLEASE copy and distribute !!
so far, the only things that haven't shown any signs of sprouting are the chives, dill, and peppers (and my daisy, sunflower and 2 strawberry seeds that are seperate)
Chamomile started sprouting today!! snapdragons and basil are starting to peek out just the slightest bit.
only 5 days (4 for the chamomile) since they were planted and im sooo excited to see the progress
going to move the cosmos into cups today! (its all i have on hand rn)
that’s weird, I don’t remember planting beans with the sweet potatoes
THE TOMATOES HAVE SPROUTED 🍅🌱
This is the first thing I’ve ever grown from a seed I am so beyond excited 😁🥹
My dad called me yesterday to say he sent me some stuff for my yard. Said it was a mix of all his favorite flowers.
The envelope of seeds that arrived contained
Zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinnia, zinn........
yellow beans, cosmos, cherry tomatoes, green beans, grand rapids lettuce, and black seeded simpson lettuce all doing well!!
So obsessed with my sprouts. Including a bunch from the Tucson Seed Library and Native Seed Search!
I FORGOT TO SHOW YALL THE ALOE AND CACTUS!!!!
They started as just the three aloe plants and the two cactuses (I know they need to be repotted they will on friday plz dont come for me 😭) and ended up as on cactus and like 5 aloe plants! The kiddo and I started these about two years ago on a whim. He likes aloe and the catus was a gift. The dead lil guy unfortunately didn't have a root system when I got him from the garden store. I tried to keep him alive for about a year but I think the move killed him 😭But anyways these were the first plants I was really able to keep alive and inspired me to garden for the first time ☺️ I also didn't know aloe could flower until ours did!
i guess this is turning into daily progress, i get so excited seeing the seeds starting to sprout!
so far we have 1 lil yellow bean, all the cosmos, a few sprouts of Grand Rapids lettuce, and one teeny tiny sprout of Black Seeded Simpson lettuce!
my local library just opened the seed library for the season! ended up picking out chamomile, poppy and radish seeds!
A new hobby begins. We moved in last September and with all the hubbub of moving and starting a new job I couldn't even think about getting out in the yard. Well, we just signed another 11 month lease so i have ALL summer to try my hand at gardening for the first time. I got some starting supplies ( i have to wait until next check to get more soil stuff). Im gonna use the porch beds for herbs, the crazy trash cans for tomatoes. the plot next to said cans for flowers(?). and as for the back yard beds?? Any tips would be super welcome!! I have two ideas: 1. Dig up and weed the existing soil, and improve/enrich
2. Dig out and just put new soil mix in.
i did some research on a good soil mix, and some mulch options. I am just not sure how to tackle those beds. im starting my tomatoe seedlings this week inside and am planning to get out in the yard either next week or the week after to start weeding and preparing the bed and those freakin trash cans (dreading that). anyway any tips and input about LITERALLY ANYTHING gardening related either in comments or dms is not only welcomed but encouraged. im in zone 6a btw
will update
