It hath begun
As it turned out, I just needed to go play in the dirt for an hour or so.
I’ve never had bok choy (yet) but man is it cute and fun to grow
I’m thinking of sautéing them with some butter and garlic, maybe some bacon? I’m open to suggestions from people who regularly eat it though
Gardening tips for beginners
Hello, I know the prices for basic vegetables are about to go platinum due to fascist Trump and his cronies. I had been thinking about this before but school kept me preoccupied. I wanted to begin an at home garden. Predominantly, onions, garlic, and potatoes! These seem pretty simple as I can just put them in a good sunny spot (which surprisingly, my family's apartment is pretty good on) and leave them alone. I was thinking about other vegetables but I don't wanna waste potting mix on could've, should've, would've. I was able to look up the basic for those three, however, if any of you have some suggestions on vegetables and herbs that would be fine on a sunny patio, please let me know!
gardening from absolute zero
So, I've absolutely murdered every pot plant that I've owned, including multiple "unkillable" succulents. I also live in a region that is infamous for having terrible clay-like soil that throttles most plant life; I don't think I've ever seen a front lawn in my suburb or surrounding that isn't a crisp yellow-brown.
Naturally, I've decided that I want to start gardening.
As a general rule of thumb, I spend as little time outdoors as humanly possible – mostly because it's 30+°C and like 90% humidity for about 3/4 of the year, but also because I have chronic urticaria, which is triggered by dust, heat and grass. So really, this is the perfect hobby for me.
But anyway, apparently nature is good for you, blah blah blah so fuck it, we ball.
Sharing a little project I'm starting today!!!
i guess this is turning into daily progress, i get so excited seeing the seeds starting to sprout!
so far we have 1 lil yellow bean, all the cosmos, a few sprouts of Grand Rapids lettuce, and one teeny tiny sprout of Black Seeded Simpson lettuce!
My garden has been growing so well lately ☺️ 🤭
