@alksblog
gundam seed isn't my favorite artstyle gundam has used but i cant deny that it is distinctive. when the seed guy is in another project you can instantly tell that the seed guy was there.
(Touches the ground) Hisashi Hirai was here
You mean those aren't all Gundam SEED?
There’s a whole ass generation of kids who never got to experience Saturday Morning Cartoons like Bump in the Night, Reboot, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, or Mighty Max…
Makes me sad, really. Those were some good shit.
Back when Animation studios experimented and had unique looks and feels, rather than all using the same bland, boring, “No sharp corners” beanmouth style that’s infected the industry over the last decade.
ReBoot was at its best when it wasn't airing in the US.
Also, the remaster of episode 10 released on YouTube today.
"t4t is for trans women"
"egg is for trans women"
"tranny is only reclaimable by trans women"
"femboy is only reclaimable by trans women"
example of transmasc erasure
Don't forget people were saying that blahaj shark toy is "a trans symbol only for trans women".
Or that Shinigami eyes, which was supposed to protect ALL trans people, suddenly is only used to protect trans women.
Anyway, all these people are complete idiots who don't get to decide who can say what. You should 100% ignore and desconsider anything they say.
Blahaj is for anyone IKEA sells it to. And Shinigami eyes doesn't protect anyone.
Hayestober. Cuz this is some Hayes Code bullshit.
WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST MAKE IT A FLUFF EVENT?!
Seriously, their guidelines are hot garbage either way, but if you want a 100%, non-problematic event around a ship... Don't involve kink!
Kink is inherently transgressive; you can't create/engage with it in this neo-conservative 'God-fearing' (in quotes because, for fuck's sake, even God told Adam and Eve to "be fruitful and multiply") way!
I miss when fandom artists simply had an agreed upon date/week/month/etc for art events and never had "official accounts" within the fandom who think they own the entire concept of Kinktober to dictate what is and isn't allowed by those events.
I mean it's not official. They have no real authority and all they can do if you break their dumb rules is kick up a fuss.
Fandom Problem #15,642:
My big problem with fandom lately is … it’s boring.
It’s mostly queer or disability “headcanons” that fans push onto characters so the fan can feel “representation” that doesn’t exist.
Also, a lot of the meta is mean.
First of all, the meta isn't worth your time.
you know what drives me crazy, not because it's bad advice but because it's hard advice? when people say "add more than one [represented group] and your representation will be fine"
but like characters fucking add up and there's only so many [represented group]s I can dip into more than once without absolutely drowning in characters
Like it's harder to have multiples of one thing when you're trying to represent a WIDE RANGE of things
people don't seem to understand how hard it is to handle a larger cast and when you want to try to represent as many people as possible it adds more and more characters but then it also might start to feel like you're just tokenizing all the things
And I know that's not what I'm doing because I genuinely just want a diverse cast so I can explore all kinds of people, my goal isn't just "I want to represent x group", it's "I am interested in x group and I think they would make interesting characters that can add a lot of color to the cast"
I have so many characters that haven't seen the light of day yet though so it doesn't look like I have more characters in the groups I've shown so far. For example I have more black characters that just haven't shown up yet, I have some nonbinary characters of different types with the same issue. There's a lot I still need to get to but there's still so much to show
I don't think anyone is really out there thinking I'm not diverse enough in my storytelling but it still nags at me because there was a time in my teens when pretty much all my characters were white and cis
I don't like advice like that because it implies there's a quota you're expected to meet, and nothing heartfelt comes out of meeting quotas.
god i'm so fucking sick of "holiday may affect the hours" results on google THIS TELLS ME LITERALY NOTHING YOU FUCKING ASS HATS and i just looooove how all the suggested questions are given fucking ai answers now so i can't trust shit
Unfortunately, if they're saying that, it probably means they don't know either.
Artfight Day 2.
Slightly less today. I've been eepy.
Characters owned by: - _Plaguing - @alksblog - @chadrickmd (And my own Korok Apple)
First artfight of the year! Starting off with a last year revenge for @alksblog of his OCs Nierra and Marcus Diral 👩👦
Fandom Problem #15,522:
I feel like in addition to "this is true" and "this is obviously wrong and you're stupid for even suggesting this", there's a third way people can react / engage with fan theories: "this is absolutely not the creator's intent, but it's still a neat way to look at it".
I'd like to agree, but it feels like a "give an inch and they'll take a mile" situation.
Though I also see nothing wrong with a creator saying, "I didn't write it that way, but I can't stop you from reading it that way."
Here's the two WoL's I play regularly in Final Fantasy XIV. Feel free to pick either.
Drawing a character for every day of Pride, 2026 edition
Day 27: first drawing where I've had to shrink the whole head down to fit the ears on the canvas
Looking good! Thanks!
has anyone else gotten existential to the point of wondering how many people online you've interacted with are now dead and you'll never know?
I hadn't until you said it.
funny how i'm now seeing ''backlash'' against the 'just do it scared' slogan because it reads exactly the same as the faux edgy 'just do it! :D' 'i have anxiety, karen' stuff of like. 2014. 'do it scared' started as advice for people with fear paralysis to help them realize that there's a way through while acknowledges the fear, not a dismissal. it was also never meant as a long term solution to crippling anxiety. duh. bad faith reading if you ask me
My question would be what's the alternative? The fear isn't going to go away unless you face it.
Fandom Problem #15,455:
When people hc the ONLY female character in the main cast as a trans man. Please just let us even have the bare minimum of female representation. If you want a trans man hc one of the already male characters as trans or have it be one of the side characters or make an OC.
You know other people's headcanons don't affect canon representation, right?
Autism is the reason for why I am the way I am. I am just as much autistic as I am human.
For me, it's less about autism defining me, and more about not wanting other people's perception of autism (probably negative) to define their perception of me (possibly important).
Keep both letters and you get chaud, which is French for hot.
