There was a gentle smile, one that reached her eyes. One of kindness. Never the less, she dipped into a soft curtsy. "And still I shall—" eyes casted out over the crowd for a brief moment of a breath before returning. In all honesty she had no interest knowing the face of the man behind the mask. Small talk was not much of her forte. Pull it off beautifully—of course, but never did find any true interest in it. So again she gave a shallow bow. And most here after all, only wished to engage in small chatter. Something that would be long forgotten by morning.
”If you will excuse me—” It was why she enjoyed the outside view, there was much more to be remembered from there. But she could not be rude, after all, one could never tell who it was behind a hidden face. So with a kind smile, the young sorceress turned and mingled back through the crowd. A quiet corner was what she wished for most. And in the whirl of color, no one would notice one slip away into the blackness to find one.

She had only been to the grand golden palace a handful of times, but never much more then what she was at now. But she had never managed to escape the spinning steps to move out on her own. And she was not about to let this moment slip through her fingers like smoke. And it would not hurt for her to at least look around, she would cause no harm.
So with a soft glance behind her shoulder, she slipped into the blackness, freeing her face of the mask it hid behind. Soft and gentle steps carried her away from the warm trill of music. Hues wandered, much more fascinated with what she found then where she had been. She just hoped no one followed her, she after all, was not supposed to be here. But the last she had checked, no one had been.
He did not wish to excuse her but, before he seemed able to say a word, the mysterious stranger was gone. Walking away, when he'd yet to learn her name. Of course, he'd never grasped the idea of these sort of events. How entertaining would a night where you recognized no one truly be? He found it to be less than interesting before. At least, before the interesting stranger bumped into him, interrupting a rather painfully dull conversation and entrancing him with just a few words. She must not have been from here, for before he lost sight of her, another person pulling his attention away for but a brief moment, she seemed to be glancing around curiously. None knew this realm better than he did, and should he find her again, it would certainly be a good topic to start conversation.

But until he could slip away, he would be forced to mingle, to entertain those he would rather ignore, many of whom he would rather have not spoken to again in the next thousand, or more, years. It wouldn't be too terribly long until he was certain he spotted her again, and masking his words with an excuse and a tone conveying that the conversation was ended there.
Of course, now he was more intrigued by where she might be going. Normally, guests stuck to the common areas, where they knew their presence was invited. To wander throughout another's home without that express permission, and to do so in such a carefree manner only made him more curious. "You know, if you don't want to be known, you should keep the mask on." He said aloud, knowing that, even from the distance between them, she would hear him, and hopefully catch the amusement in his tone. He'd yet to see her face. He hoped the surprise would reveal her to him before she remembered herself, although he somehow doubted it.

Just want to say - I spent ages RPing the Marvel fandom as Loki, and even spent some time RPing as the woefully underused and unfairly hated Odin. Loki is my favourite character, but I disliked how everyone hated on Odin just because they fangirled over Loki. Odin made mistakes, but never out of spite. Your portrayal of Odin is amazing.
ARE YOU LOST?! This was a really nice thing to sign onto after being completely absent for at least a week (possibly and probably longer). I was feeling very iffy on Odin so I took some time to regroup and think and I’m sort of coming back (probably tomorrow, because sleep???) but this was just really nice and I wanted to reply to it now. Thank you! I completely agree! People hate Odin because of Loki in the MCU when, really, Odin didn’t disown Loki until after Loki went to Midgard and, I don’t know, KILLED A BUNCH OF PEOPLE FOR NO REASON???? Just so misunderstood, right? No he was just mad because Thor was going to be King, and had he really done nothing when Odin fell into Odinsleep, Thor wouldn’t have re-gained his powers and Loki would have inherited the throne by rights!!!!!!! But Loki fucked that up by trying to destroy Jotunheim. WHICH WAS THE SAME THING THOR WAS BANISHED FOR SO WHY WOULD YOU??????? Yeah. MCU!Loki fangirls, man. I know a lot of Myth Based only RPers who don’t hate Odin because they know the myths differ from MCU (and he’s still kind of a dick in the myths OOPS?? but hey, he still has reasons that usually benefit the greater good). SO YEAH. Okay but yes thank you for this, because it really made my night. <3

"He has changed!" she insisted, looking up at him before backing away slowly, looking nervous.
"You are part Frost Giant. Loki himself is a Frost Giant. Magic and glamour allow him to look the part of an Asgardian, and he was raised as such." The story is far more complicated than that, but it was too long of a story for the short time he was certain this encounter would take. "Regardless of that, a frost giant's blood is nothing to be ashamed of. Even I have Frost Giant's blood in me. Lineage is only the root, and you carry yourself beyond that, child." "For his sake, I should hope he has. Do not feel threatened. I already told you - I won't hurt you."

He said without thought of hesitation to consider the words, they just came naturally but Loki quickly got rid of the fear that ever pressed itself upon her by the change of subject.
"Will you tell me another story about the stars?"
"That is something you will not have to worry over for thousands of years, my son. It is far off for you, as well as I. There are still lifetimes to be had before then." His son's fear was quickly abated by his desire to learn more. There was almost an envy to how easily a child's emotions could be altered. It was something those who grew would never truly remember how to do. "There is a great deal of knowledge in the stars. For certain, Heimdell could teach you a great deal about them as well."
Sif bowed her head slightly. “Yes I know Allfather. But surely there are some things that will grant you some happiness.” She smiled up at Odin. He had always been very kind to her, and she loved him like a father. She made sure not to show that deference in from of others, but there was no harm here when they were alone. “Perhaps it would not hurt to take some time for yourself now while we are enjoying a little peace?”
"Peace will come and go. I find that the most peaceful times are when trouble is truly beginning to stir. Do not worry over me, though, Lady Sif. For the wars have passed for now, and you fought bravely. You too should be enjoying this time of peace."
”Asgard? Odin? As in Thor’s… father?”

"Aye, the very same." Her alarm was definitely noticeable. Clearly she had no idea how she'd gotten here. Or who she had encountered. "Sending you back to Midgard is an easy task. But one I cannot do until I know why you've come here."
What he wouldn't give to know what that damned head had told the old man, whatever it was had changed everything between them and Loki was becoming more uncomfortable with it. Gone were the days when his confidence was sought after and taken to heart. Something was wrong and it all involved a mouthy oracle. "Don't overlook them. . ." He warned. "
There was a clear change in his attitude, knowing what would eventually come to pass. Knowing what Loki’s actions would cause to pass. Until that happened, it would do well to not dwell on what he had learned, but the knowledge of the inevitable was a heavy burden. “I shall not. There is no need to caution me.”
