We’ve only received positive feedback so far and, because of that, we’re going from an animated show to a dating sim featuring our main two, Dania and Jackson, and adding more lovely characters as time goes on! Because of this, I’d like to make aware once more that we have a discord server and you can check out details much sooner! I’ve been absent for a long time; for that, I am incredibly sorry. However, in the time I’ve been gone, I’ve thought of something else- turning this animated show into a dating sim.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not expecting zero backlash- or even people dropping interest in the idea- but I personally think this is a great idea to bring up! There aren’t a whole lot out there that are LGBT+ and making a dating sim would definitely be much more easier to make than an entire show, especially because the majority of us are beginners in such a big project.
Before I move on with this idea, I’d greatly appreciate feedback- what do you think? Is it a good idea? What notes would be important for making this? The most important input on this project is from the audience- that was how I started it and that’s how I’ll continue to run this project.
I’ll be completely honest, a lot of this has been inspired by other LGBT+ dating sims I’ve played in my own spare time (or in class…) and I’ve been taking note of where it needs improvement in the LGBT+ aspect, or even more sometimes. There are times where I wish for a trans option, or an option to turn down physical affection, or sometimes a whole list of things that’d take too long to write.
But what I want to really make clear is that I want to give it many choices; you get to be who you want to be, and date who you want to date. I want to make it clear that all the dates you go on can also count as platonic! The choices you’re given are definitely going to be just as diverse as the characters; unlike Dream Daddy, The Office Type, or HuniePop (or more!), I wish to add even more.

Here’s a list of things I hope to promise will be added into the sim once it goes into development:
Many disabled characters
Datable and otherwise!
Not just physically but also including mentally
Aromantic characters that are simply undatable but will not turn down a proposal to going out and being publicly affectionate
They may choose to come out to you later, or from the start, or not at all and politely decline without any disclosure
Yes, this is because everybody is different!
Trans characters- including you!
Characters who have transitioned, characters who haven’t, characters who’ve just figured it out, and those who are still trying to understand
When I say transition, I mean what they think transitioning is to them.
No adult content, for the kids!
Or, well, teens. There’s going to be some kisses and make-out scenes but there’s will definitely be no sexual content.
Say hello to poly relationships; don’t forget an aro option too!
Not every character will be open to joining a polyamorous relationship
However, those that are will continue to be romancable! The more in your relationship, the much more different your outcome would be!
Of course, you’ll be given the option to cap it to as many as you’d like- even to only yourself!
Most, if not all, fan suggestions!
Character names, sexualities, sets of pronouns, race, body type, etc will be taken into suggestion
Of course, we’re not asking for anything more than that- we don’t need a thirty page essay telling us his hair is blue or their glasses are pink!
This doesn’t mean you can’t tell us that but please be considerate of who’s going to be reading it!
In terms of actually making the game, I’d like to use Renpy, a commonly used application for making dating sims. I’m no expert, and I’m not saying I’m a super human either, but I’d be more than happy to figure out how it works and all that stuff. It’ll be available for both Mac and Windows users so that everybody can play it! I’m not sure if it works on Linux but, from what I’ve heard, it does?
There are members of the team willing to help with coding and such as well, so don’t think I’m alone on this! Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!
I find it wonderful that this project is still going on even without much progress done over a year (or 2?) either way, I am sticking to this project. (Hi it’s Wheeze-)
Yes, we’re still determined! Our project leader had a bunch of life stuff happen and no one is really comfortable taking charge in their place. But we’re not giving up! Soon, summer will come and everyone will have more time. Hopefully, we can start making more progress then!~Animod

We want to promote diversity, change, and learning through each and every episode so that our viewers can all learn something new about the world around us in an entertaining way!! We’re very terribly sorry for the lack of updates! We’ve all been busy recently, school or otherwise, and our different timezones also make it difficult to have proper meetings but worry not! We’re trying our hardest to get this project on its feet and running. We are hoping to get things done at a pace that is at all of our comfort zones so that we can produce good quality episodes in the future! - Mod K
Hey everyone, it's Mod F here. You have probably noticed that the date for a November pilot release has come and gone, and we're so sorry we mislead you on that front. Kit (Mod K and the project's founder) has just been swamped with school, and the rest of us have been... apprehensive about continuing the project without his approval. But I have some ideas about the structure, and you're all waiting for an update, so here goes.
Before the pilot comes out, we are planning on releasing a sort of teaser for the first episode, featuring about 3 or 4 scenes from the draft of the first episode's script. This is primarily for feedback purposes - what you like and don't like about the writing, music, voice acting, etc. I'm hoping that if I can get the project back on track while Kit takes his leave of absence, we could see this teaser released around February or March 2018, if not January.
For the new structuring of this blog, I was thinking of releasing bi-weekly updates letting you all know of our progress over the months. Here's one for this week:
Teaser Episode:
Writing: Because we are using scenes from the first draft of the script, the writing is complete.
Voice acting: The voice actors for Jackson and Dania, the only characters appearing in this teaser, have been selected. Dania's VA has recorded her lines. We are still waiting on Jackson's.
Music: The only music featured in this teaser will be the theme song and a special song written from Dania to Jackson. We are still waiting on the instrumentals for both pieces.
Storyboarding: Storyboarding has informally begun.
Animation: Animation has not yet begun.
Editing: Editing of the script has been completed. Editing sound and video files together has not begun.
Translation: Translation of the script has not yet begun.
In the coming weeks, we hope to receive the instrumentals for That's Life, our theme song, and Hey, Jackson, the other featured song. We will also endeavour to obtain Jackson's recorded voice lines.
