Wahh, I'm so happy you like my writing!!
Thank you so, so much for requesting btw, I hope I've done your idea justice <3
Even with the sounds of a cooking show drifting from the tv to your ears and the words blurring in front of you on the table, your mind cannot seem to focus. Thoughts consuming every inch of your body until it feels much too far. The memory of his face and the simple blink that had lashes gracing his cheeks when he had taken the bagged gift from your hands...why couldn't you stop thinking about it? And what did that expression even mean? It had been no different from normal, except it was—just a little.
Had it been exhaustion from your doting or something else entirely? You honestly thought you had a good grasp on some of his reactions by now...though, now that you think about it, you weren't too sure about how he feels toward gifts. It's different than when he hangs with Junpei, where you can tell that he's actually disinterested or just messing around to tease the guy.
You were overthinking—you knew that, but what if you weren't? What if something was wrong? The mere notion that you might've made him uncomfortable made you feel terrible. Seeing him happy, the small lift that would pull at the corners of his lips, was everything to you. You always wanted to bring that out of him, to lift that weight of his shoulders, at least a little, despite your practicality.
But what could you do when you don't know how he feels?
It honestly—
"..Aki and I are headin' to Hagakure." Aragaki's voice calls out from the dorms entry, hanging in the air as if to offer something yet nothing ever comes. That's when you realize Akihiko had gotten back from club practice, your gaze lifting from the homework in front of you—barely done. "He's trying to ask if you wanna come with."
Ah.
There's a moment where you simply look back down, eyes searching that damned paper like it had answers to your uncertainties. Then you take a deep breath—
"Alright."
Ahhh...food really does soothe the soul!
The warm broth coating the noodles drips back into the bowl as you take another bite, nearly sighing at the taste. It graces your tongue and soothes your throat, heat spreading out beneath your skin like a tender embrace and filling your belly like a home cooked meal. Even the air feels lighter here, whatever was tense on the way to the strip having eased away in this atmosphere. Akihiko was bantering with Aragaki, smiling and even checking in with you—about the food, but you felt he had been worried about you, too.
Although, Makoto didn't really leave your mind.
You wanted him to be there, sitting next to you like always—enjoying good food together. Aragaki was the one to notice the sigh that slouched your figure, but he didn't point it out.
"There's this cat at the station." It was another sneaky attempt to drag you around. The way Aragaki went about lifting people's spirits was so subtle unless you knew about it.
Funnily enough, Akihiko rarely picked up on it. "Isn't that the one Yuki's been feeding lately?" He's feeding a cat? You guess that's why he had that bag by his desk. "Oh, so that's why he's got cat food in his room?" Gray-brown eyes meet yours when Akihiko turns to face you, "He keeps it in his room?" A soft huff pushes from your nose, "Where else would he keep it, Aki?" He raises his hands in surrender.
The cat is an absolute sweetheart—which was quite different from the first time you saw it, if you remember correctly. It had fattened up a little and it's meows were more energetic. You play with it, using your hair tie to make it go in a circle before letting it catch it in it's claws.
"...it's actually kinda cute." The gruff response is a bit muttered, but it's clear Aragaki is filled with mirth at the sight of the stray. "Kinda–?"
When you look over your shoulder from where your crouched, you don't just find Aragaki and Akihiko standing there.
He's standing there.
Just behind them at the entrance to the space, a can of cat food in his hand. You must've noticeably paused because it has the other two glancing behind them. "Oh– hey, Yuki." Akihiko is the first to greet him, both with a smile and by turning his body toward him. "What're you doing here..?" His voice is slow, weighed down by a persistent tiredness. "(Your name) wanted to see the cat." It's probably a little funny how you turn to Aragaki, lips pulling into a frown and brows pinching together, "Wha– Aki wanted to see it, too!" The two laugh, one stifled and the other falling freely.
"Don't you usually come here earlier than this, Mako?" Your question draws his gaze, somewhat contemplative but not about what you said. "...yeah." Ah, so curt. "I..like it." Oh. "The cat?" He nods his head, heavy eyes drifting to the animal in question. "It is really cute." A smile pulls at your lips, turning to look at the cat again. It's nawing at your hair tie.
But it immediately drops everything the moment metal scrapes against tin, meowing all the while as it pads on over to Makoto. Soon circling his feet. Traitor. You could see the subtle quirk of his mouth when your eyes followed the cat. Damned bastard is smirking.
"We should head back before it gets too late. Apathy syndrome cases have been increasing." Ever the urger, Aragaki reminds you all of danger yet lingers instead of wandering off like usual. "Yeah, it'll be real tough if we're out here without equipment." Akihiko is the one to start heading out, waving the three of you to come with.
You and Makoto wanted to stay until the cat finished, but it really was getting late. Not enough for the midnight hour, but enough to maybe worry Mitsuru.
Stupid responsible classmen.
Aragaki is the first to follow Akihiko, shoes scuffing against the pavement and head ducking. You linger, looking down at the cat. If you could stay for a little longer, just until it finished eating...a sigh finds it's way past your lips. Those two wouldn't let you, you already knew.
All you could do was soak it up for a moment and then stand—though when you did, you noticed that Makoto was still standing there. Watching you with that look in his eyes. Barely there, yet so soft. It was the kind of look you thought about for days after he did it. There was a warm buzz that always came from it, fizzling in your diaphragm like anxiety even though it was anything but.
His feet shift, one turning and the other lifting a little before pausing. With a blink and a quick step, you join him and go with your upperclassmen.
In pairs, the four of you walk—Akihiko and Aragaki side by side then Makoto and you a bit behind them. Something about the energy made you go slow, as if you were still trying to linger. You wanted to talk with the boy next to you, but nothing seemed to come out. Stuck on the tip of your tongue and muted with every part of your lips. Normally he'd be busy looking around or listening to music on his portable, but you could feel him glance over from time to time. It made you wonder if he'd talk first...though you knew better. His initiative was next to none.
"Hey, uh...Makoto..?" Your eyes flit over to him, waiting a moment until you see his head turn a little. It takes another moment for you to force the words out. "Did you...like what I got you before?" His response was as simple as your question, but it seemed to come out so much easier than yours. "..yeah." But then he paused, not just with his words but his body too. "...did something happen?" You feel like floundering as soon as he properly looks at you. There's a slight pinching of his brows and his eyes seem to search. Gaze drifting along your body as if he could find the answer through your demeanor.
"Oh- no, I just..." A breath finds it's way from your nose, "...I couldn't tell if you were...happy. I guess." You could feel his eyes settle on you again. "Happy...I don't know." That uncertainty...your eyes flick up, catching his just as they flit away. "...it was..nice." So he did like it. "I see."
You could almost hear Yukari — "Can't you guys just talk to each other? Normally!"
It was a bit silly, in all fairness.
"Then...I'm glad." Your confidence felt a bit better now, anxiety settling in your chest. With a small smile and a nod of your head, you look at him in certainty. Hesitation easing. Reaching out, you offer him your hand.
And he takes it after a moment.
Stepping forward to rejoin at your side, he doesn't smile back...but he relaxes. Body loosening up beside yours.
With quick steps, you catch up a little to Akihiko and Shinjiro. Returning to the dorm much lighter than you had left.
Hi, everyone! I've opened headshot/bust up commissions on VGen for $20-$25 USD ~(´∀`~)
I'm trying to save up money to replace my almost dead computer right now, but it's a bit of a struggle. The place I work at is inconsistent with how much they have for me to do. Currently, I'm going in once a week and only earning about $150 USD. I'm unable to go full time due to mental issues and my physical fatigue, so I'm a bit stuck ( ´~`)
You don't have to commission me, but it would be a huge help! Making art is all I can really do in return, haha
Here is the link to my VGen, but you can also just put vgen.co/allovertheplace into your browser <3
And if you don't want to commission but still wanna help, here is a link to my kofi where you can donate for as little as $1! You can also put ko-fi.com/allovertheplace into your browser ( ´∀` )b
Here are some examples of my art :
(For additional examples of my art, you can look on my Tumblr and Instagram feeds!)
Thank you so very much for your time! I would appreciate reblogs greatly so people can see me, but any sort of interact would go a long way. Thank you so much again <3
I only have 2 commission slots available, but I plan to reopen them quite frequently. I'm just trying to make it more manageable for me (〃´▽`)/

in which your daily routine consists of waking up, setting up your stall to sell fruit, conversing with the locals, packing up the stall, and heading back home. oh. and entertaining that incorrigible grand master.
CONTAINS : gn!reader, 1.6k wc, fluff, yearning, reader runs a fruit stall and tries to not let Feelings™ show (and fails horribly), varka is kinda reminiscent to a puppy, written PRE release but based off of scattered lore we have on him so let's see how off the mark this characterisation is later ;w;
A/N : AFTER 5 LONG YEARS HE IS FINALLY REAL AND OFC HE MAKES ME WRITE MY FIRST GENSHIN FIC IN YEARS WOWEE
Being the owner of a fruit stall in Mondstadt City, selling your fresh produce every day from morning to evening, isn’t as lacklustre as one might think. It's a stable business, something which stems from just how close-knit the community is (how small it is compared to other cities, rather). And you like it that way; the familiarity of it all.
You see the same shop owners who greet you with a chipper “Good morning!” and its counterpart when it's time to pack up and head home.
You see the same old regulars who greet you with familiar warmth, perusing your newly stocked goods to take back for breakfast or midday snacking.
You see the same knights who go on their usual patrols, oftentimes striking up conversation and selling your goods to satiate their hunger.
You see the same children running around with their carefree laughter and twinkling eyes, which somehow shine even brighter when they spot newly imported fruits from other regions amongst your lineup.
And, of course, you see him. The bane of your existence. The reason you wake up grimacing at the prospect of getting out of bed and starting your day. The reason you can never start nor end the day in a moment of peace.
Well, you hear him first before you see him.
“Good morning, my ever so diligent fruit seller!” His voice is something far too spirited in the quiet, early morning. You already know then and there peace is no longer an option. So you close your eyes, take a deep breath, mentally preparing yourself for the whirlwind about to make a stop at your stall, and exhale.
A shadow hovers over you, the subtle warmth of the early sun dissipating along with it. Flitting your eyes open, you're met with eyes which encompass the blues of a clear sky and the man who is the sun incarnate.
“Good morning to you as well.”
Varka beams — in that ridiculously bright curl of his lips which has you squinting — as though you haven't responded in the same monotone manner each and every time. But he acts as happy as he did the first time you so much as acknowledged his greeting all those years ago.
(Before he was the Grand Master. Before he became something akin to a legend. Before he carried the hopes and wishes of the people into every battle, every act he took to protect his home. Back when he was a bright-eyed knight ready to take on the world while you listened to his rambles, wondering how someone could be so bright.)
A nagging feeling tells you that won't be changing any time soon, and you curse your traitorous heart yearning for it not to.
A crisp crunch! dissolves your thoughts. Blinking, you're unsurprised to see a bright red apple — one of your bright red apples, you note with narrowed eyes — in his mouth. Eyes closed, he contentedly chews the bitten off piece of fruit.
“Ooh, the apples are particularly sweet today,” Varka hums, savouring the taste lingering in his taste buds. It isn't long before his attention swivels back to you, eyes crinkling in mirth. “Not as sweet as you, of course! Haha!”
His mouth really never does stop flapping.
“Flattery won't make me forget about you paying, Grand Master,” comes your deadpan response, demeanour far too used to his sweeping presence. Unfortunately.
With a melodramatic flair only he can pull off, Varka gasps, half-eaten apple in one hand while the other lies solemn atop his heart. “Grand Master? Oh, you wound me! I thought we were at least on first name basis.”
He still hands you the 200 mora amidst his theatrics, fingers brushing gently against your open palm. They linger for a brief moment, that ever familiar warmth curling into your now clenched hand, before it slips back to his side.
You roll your eyes, huffing yet not entirely surprised. “Whatever. Anyway, don't you have duties you should be attending to? You know, as the Grand Master?”
“I'll have you know I am carrying out my duties.” A cheeky grin appears on his visage upon seeing your dubious expression, and you mentally brace yourself for whatever is bound to spill from that insufferable mouth of his. He takes another bite of the apple, chewing and swallowing before continuing. “Checking in on the beloved citizens of Mondstadt is a part of my duties, actually. So naturally I'll be checking up on you every chance I get.”
“Uh-huh. And that entails any time ranging from setting up my stall first thing in the morning, like now, to when I'm about to head home?”
“Of course!” He beams, chipper as ever. “What kind of Grand Master would I be to leave my most beloved citizen bored and lonely without my presence?”
“A better, more competent one,” you drawl, arms crossed and expression undoubtedly unimpressed. “Speaking of, I hope you aren't leaving poor Jean to pick up your slack.”
Another crunch! fills the space. He's polished off the apple, leaving nothing but the pips and the stem. Your nose scrunches; he gives another lopsided grin.
“Jean has it covered. It’s essentially a part of her job description, anyhow. Besides, I’m almost positive that little workaholic enjoys taking on my work and keeping herself busy.”
You sigh, entirely unimpressed yet not surprised in the slightest. Again. “You’re incorrigible.”
“Yet you still entertain me,” he says, grin dwindling into something softer, eyes glittering a little brighter. Within a blink, his relaxed posture straightens. “Oh! Right, this is for you.”
Swept up in his presence, you didn’t realise the cecilia so obviously tucked protectively in his pocket up until now. You shouldn’t be so surprised. More often than not, he will bring you a little trinket — sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evenings. Yet seeing him carefully holding the stem, calloused fingers cautious so as to avoid crumpling the leaves or petals, has your skin warming more than the rising sun above you should.
(And so what if Flora gives you that all-knowing grin from within her own stall? So what if you're already mentally preparing for her to idle her way across to your stall during that quiet hour when the streets are less busy to tease you, again, about the Grand Master's blatant favouritism?)
“You sure seem to have a lot of spare time,” you mutter, gently taking the flower from his outstretched hand. It remains in your own for a brief moment, slowly twirling between your pinched fingers before setting it down on the wooden counter.
“Only for you,” he responds just as softly, as though speaking any louder would disrupt the peace settling over you. It’s almost embarrassing how easily the words spill from his lips, how readily he is able to drown you in this saccharine side of him none would expect from a man who birthed legends with his own name and skills.
And so you just grumble, pointedly doing your best to block out the thunderous beats of your wretched heart. “Shouldn’t you get going? Something about the thrill of adventure and action calling your name?”
“So you do remember what I say!”
“Only because you never stop talking. Even forcefully blocking you out doesn’t work.”
Still, he laughs, like you just landed the funniest joke known to man. His hulking frame of muscle and battle-worn scars shake at the boisterous action. That ever so familiar boyish sound which makes you feel both at ease but also forget just how strong he can be when necessary.
Eventually he composes himself, leaning back with his hands perched on his hips. “Save me some fruit for my return!” are his last words to you as he takes a slow step away from your stall; reluctant, almost. His waving is obnoxious, large, swooping movements which could probably render a mitachurl out of commission from the sheer velocity, his cheery grin akin to that of the shining sun.
You merely roll your eyes and give him a half-hearted wave of your own.
It's only when he disappears beyond the towering cobble walls do you allow yourself to turn away. Shining with gentle radiance in the early morning glow sits the cecilia he left for you, its pristine visage a grating contrast to the worn wood of the stall. The petals are soft to the touch, the pads of your thumb and forefinger gently running along its smooth texture.
Chatter slowly floods the city as life blooms amongst the populace, and you swiftly tuck its stem securely in your apron's breast pocket. The regulars come out for their daily peruse and purchase. The guards greet you and stop for idle chats. The children amble towards you eager to hear what new fruits you have in stock this time.
Even as the day goes on and your stock dwindles, you make sure to set aside the freshest fruit you have for when a certain man returns late into the day.
(And when he appears, roughed up from spending the day out in the wilderness yet shining as bright as ever, you act as though the ripe apple and berries were just mere leftovers — produce which never sold. If he notices the still pristine cecilia tucked into your pocket, he doesn't comment on it. He never does. Varka only beams in that manner which always gets your hands clammy, happily holding your empty crates while chattering about today's wilderness expedition, waiting as you finish packing up so he can walk you back home.)
(Like routine; like always.)

Hi! I'm doing quite well, thank you, I hope you're doing well too :3
Thank you so much for requesting! Hopefully it's to your liking <3
Ahh, Aventurine...he notices plenty of things. Especially how you clam up when you're approached so suddenly. It isn't as though you're fumbling, but you're so stiff and you take just a bit longer to put your words together.
He read it as you simply not expecting to be spoken to, however he does begin to notice the way you seem to place yourself at a distance. Nothing too drastic—it isn't a gaping hole after all, but it is there.
Honestly, he's having much fun trying to figure you out. You're his source of entertainment during these long, grueling hours the IPC give him. (It's not even by hour, it's by job TT)
He wonders what would fall from your lips if you didn't think so much; wonders how'd you react without careful consideration. Though, he would never push you until you froze up. No, no. As much as he likes to tease and bait people, he knows better than to make someone retreat into themselves.
If anyone ever starts to do that to you, he will step in. He always tells himself it's because having you unable to speak is a hassle, but he knows it's just a lie he tries to sell to himself. He simply doesn't like seeing someone else bother you, especially to that degree. Though he wouldn't ever tell you—hell, he wouldn't even dare to admit it to himself.
Don't try to mention it or over think it.
He doesn't mean anything by it—obviously.
Except he does find himself disappointed when you do drop it like he wanted. It should've made him happy. No conversation about his internal workings or the lies piled so high he sometimes doesn't know what's truth or otherwise.
Though he soon realizes that you do keep thinking about it, and a part of him is joyous. Like, yes! Think about him. He so does enjoy being on someone's mind, especially someone who simply views him as he is.
Overall—Aventurine finds himself a little protective of you, using his honeyed tongue to pull you back when it all feels a bit too suffocating because of a certain someone. Yet he will still mess with you at times, flustering with teases and attempting to bait you into giving a more outward reaction.
Your reactions are always the best ones, after all.
No spoliers here, don't worry! Just pure Avidius fluff
AVIDIUS, who honestly, felt guilty for you. To see you tied down to him. Unfortunately, any attempts he made against this marriage was immediately shut down. You were the only heir to a high ranking member of the senate, and while he is a renowned gladiator, even his word meant nothing to your father. You were promptly sent away for political purposes, with no say on who you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.
AVIDIUS, who knew he couldn’t change your fate, resolved to at least make your time spent with him enjoyable. His heart tightens to the sight of you trying so hard to keep a straight face, in front of the deplorable father that just signed your marriage documents. Avidius stays silent. Your gaze turns to him, tears welling up in your eyes, threatening to spill at any moment. He returns a kind look, and a light nod, assuring you he means to bring you no harm. You were relieved that at least your husband-to-be was no villain, but being restrained to a fate you cannot escape still brings you great anxiety. Your father departs, and Avidius takes the opportunity to gently clasp your hands in his, “I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything to help. But…know that I will take care of you to the best of my abilities”
AVIDIUS, who had to leave home for an extended period of time to join the hunt. It’s been weeks since you’ve coexisted in the same space as Avidius. He was nothing short of perfect. Never made any moves. Never tried to control you, force you to eat, force you to talk, even though you were reclusive. You needed time to think everything over, and Avidius completely understood your needs. You would leave your bedroom, not having eaten anything all day, to find a home cooked meal left specifically for you in the pantry. “I won’t be here for a few weeks. Feel free to help yourself to anything you need in the house. I know we haven’t talked much, but please do take care of yourself –Avidius”. You place your hand over your chest, tight with a funny feeling. He’s leaving for the hunt, you thought, will he return safe? Your heart fills with worry. Anxiety and dread overcomes you. The thought of losing him seemed to hurt you more than being forced into this political marriage.
AVIDIUS, who valiantly fights in the hunt, leading and supporting his fellow gladiators into the fray. His group suddenly gets ambushed by tacet discords. Painful wails and screams erupt around him. He thinks of you. He wanted to see you. He didn’t want to die here and have you be married off to someone else. Not on his watch. He raises his spear and rallies his allies, charging ahead with the unwavering intent on returning home.
AVIDIUS, who along with Augusta and his group, return to the Hunter’s Den triumphant. He walks using his spear as support, having injured his leg in the battle. He exhales deeply, relieved that he returned safe. He can come home, to you. He slowly looks up as he drags his leg, and sees someone rapidly approaching him. A woman? Tired and weary, he could only make out their silhouette. She runs with ragged breath, desperately gasping for air. It was when she embraced him that he realised that this woman was his endearing wife. You tightly wrap your arms around his neck, and he hears your quiet sobs. Gently, he wraps his arm around your waist, burying his face into your neck.
“...Avidius!” you cried.
“Yes, my dear?” You pull away to really get a good look at his face. Even when exhausted, he still looks at you with eyes full of kindness. Full of warmth. Full of love.
You cup his face with your hand, gently tracing and caressing his face with your thumb. Leaning forward, you gently plant a kiss on his cheek.
“Welcome back…my husband”

Hi! I'm doing quite well, thank you, I hope you're doing well too :3
Thank you so much for requesting! Hopefully it's to your liking <3

Souls games are very new to me in terms of what I play so I was super nervous about not liking it, BUT I DO LIKE IT
I've always enjoyed grinding lvls and getting stronger(my many hours in persona games attest to my grinding sessions) so souls games are kinda perfect
Plus its so satisfying to beat your enemies based on skill, so many games are just too easy and you can defeat bosses on the first try without knowing jackshit about them
But kinda wanna write for Elden Ring,,, I want to get into Dark Souls as well but I've gotta go one game at a time XD
My brain is coming up with multiple ideas and I just thought of a silly one.
Could I request Tengen + his wives getting a large amount of homemade sweets and snacks from their s/o but she believes that they won't like them because she thinks her snacks are plain or boring?
Demon Slayer
Character(s): Tengen Uzui + His Lovely Wives
Genre: Fluff
Type: Drabble + Headcanon
Description: Sweet treats for your beloveds, even though you're not sure about actually giving them...
Warnings/Notes: slight insecurity about one's abilities(though it's kept light), gender neutral reader(gender did not matter for this request)
This is so cute!! Genuinely wish I could write more, but I've hit a small roadblock </3
I hope you enjoy!
Too much salt- no, too little. Would a little frosting look nice? Oh, yikes, no.
Normally it wouldn't bother you this much, the product only mildly disappointing to you. But now they were for someone else. They had to be perfect. Or at least close to it. A good flavor would just make all the mistakes charming, right?
Perhaps a little clumsy, perhaps a little panicked. But you sure as hell were trying.
Even when the product wasn't exactly as you wanted – as you envisioned, you carefully packed each one up. Tying up the box of assorted goodies and procrastinating a good while longer before finally giving in to that leap of faith.
A gift wasn't a gift if it was never delivered, after all.
Every moment was another second of sinking doubt. Would they even enjoy something like this? Never had you seen them eat sweets like these...it just made all the harder to resist the twisting in your tummy.
Eventually, though, you reach them. Goodies still in hand and not overcome by those less than pleasant thoughts.
Tengen brows lift at the sight, corners of his lips pulling into a slight smirk that's akin to a grin yet not quite there yet.
Hina has a smile on her face, small and reserved—eyes taking in Tengen's reaction before drifting to you. Her gaze softening.
Makio full on grins, getting up from where she's seated amongst her partners to go to you. Her usual energy lighting up as she greets you with something almost like gusto, "Hey!"
The beam that overcomes Suma's face when she sees you is gentle yet hardly contained, like she's about to erupt with joy as she comes over to you. It only gets worse once she notices what you've brought. "Are those snacks?" Her gasp is adorable and her eyes light up.
Although they're happy to simply have you, your treats have made it all the more sweeter. As much as you may feel off about the food you've given them, they easily bring you out of your head and into the moment. Hina comments on the flavors, Makio - boisterous as ever - wraps her arm around you whilst chatting, Suma has tears in her eyes as she enjoys your handwork done especially for all of them and chats with just as much energy as Makio. And Tengen, one to always observe his wives fondly, now gazes upon you as you get more comfortable and blend right into the chaotic group despite your uncertainties. As always, his wives rope him into the conversation to pull him out of his daze much as they did you—though with more roughhousing.
"Next time-" Suma speaks up during the downtime after the bit of playful fighting and quips, "-we should all make sweets together!"
"You know what, that's actually not a bad idea." Makio laughs happily—and although it's a little loud, it's also sweet.
spoilers for nod krai aq act ii, gender neutral reader, established but ambiguous relationship, slight yandere tendencies because he is a FREAK!!!!! (and i said so)

imagine rerir gifting his darling his heart. literally.
he has no need for these shattered fragments. they are but useless remnants of a self that has decayed and forced to be reborn into something, someone, other. there is no attachment. there is no sentiment. simply purpose, and rerir no longer finds that within them.
but his darling...well, he supposes he has one use for it.
"there you are."
each step rerir takes is calculated and measured, like a wolf stalking its helpless prey from the dark. without needing to look there is a certain tension that lingers in his body, one that comes from the restraint of someone teetering between ominous composure and wicked obsession. there is a certain shift in the air that comes with his presence. one that has the unworthy fallen at his feet.
you don't have time to move before he's behind you. an arm bound in muscle and dark bandages slithers its way around your abdomen, pulling you so close it brings into question where he ends and you begin. if it was up to rerir, there would be nothing to differentiate the two of you. his body barely exudes any warmth, but the flesh of his chest beneath the wrappings is firm yet soft. comforting, in a sense. familiar. his.
with the hand that pulled you close, rerir takes yours into his. the tips of his claws dig into your flesh juxtaposed with a gentility and carefulness reserved for you alone. it's less of a warning or threat and more of a thrill. the danger of knowing he could tear straight through you with a single veature, yet doesn't because he would sooner bend the knee to that vexatious traveler than draw your blood in a manner that is less than intimate.
rerir's body bends to your level, his spine cracking and curving with the motion. the hand that cradles his gift hooks his thumb into the wrapping over his mouth and pulls it down just enough for you to feel his lips against your neck. his breath is hot as it washes over your skin, beneath your clothing in waves. rerir stays like that — still and almost slack — for seconds that have lost meaning to a man who has infinite amounts of time. perhaps he is basking in your touch now that he has regained a tangible form instead of the one composed of abyssal taint.
or maybe he's just being clingy. not that he'd admit to it.
then he is offering it to you — his heart. sitting in his palm are the magenta fragments held together by sheer willpower, devotion, the ribbon so tenderly wrapped around it like a gift. it was an act of substantial value, but not quite tangible. he figures you would care for something like this, instead. an act that proves that his affections have never once dwindled or swayed over these many years.
once its weight vanishes from his palm as you take it, the same hand wanders across your collarbone as his mind wanders. rerir cannot say it would make a good necklace, but it would look good on you regardless. or perhaps he can fasten a piece into a ring to slip on your finger? hmph. trivial. if it comes down to it, rerir has no qualms of forcing it into your chest to wear with pride. that way, you would match.
his voice rumbles through his chest and into your back as he says, "for you. but you already knew that, didn't you."
