Okay, okay...
Emily let out a small squeal as Naomi nipped at her neck, tossing her head back ever slightly. “It’d only be right,” she giggled, following her fiancee at the heel.
Naomi winked at her before leading her upstairs. This was certainly one way to blow off steam.

Emily rolled her eyes jokingly, Naomi definitely wasn’t spineless, that was for sure. She tried her hardest to take her fiancee seriously but it was a struggle as she felt herself being pushed up against the wall. “Sure,” Emily giggled, biting her lip.
"Okay, maybe I am..." she nipped at her neck gently, "But you may as well let me distract you senseless upstairs...twice." Naomi took her hand and began to lead her off slowly.

“Please promise me you’ll take care of yourself,” Emily said, implying that Naomi wasn’t to be caught smoking cigarettes by her again.
Naomi peered down at Emily and raised a single eyebrow, "Come on, baby... you didn't fall in love with me for being spineless, did you?" She stroked her hair, "I just want to know I have the choice... To be trusted... You know how I get when I feel..." she wet her lips nervously, "trapped." She walked her backwards towards a wall and pressed her against it gently, she placed kisses down her neck, murmuring, "Not distracting you...I swear..."

Emily smiled contently in their small cocoon of a hug. “I love you,” she murmured, smiling as she dipped her head into Naomi’s shoulder.
"I know." she murmured playfully. "I love you too." She listened to their hearts beat together and knew this was all she'd ever really need. She was alive and well with her true love.

Emily shook her head and pulled Naomi into her, “Don’t be,” she said softly. “Just understand… that you’re the stronger person I know. That you are in control, and I admire that so much.”
Naomi melted into Emily's embrace and sighed softly, nodding along, "Right... in control..." She took a moment before pressing a kiss to her hair.

"Don't tempt me, Katiekins."
"Since when do you not have a posse to go with?"

“No,” Emily peeped quietly. “And it never was.” She pulled back and squeezed Naomi’s hands. “Don’t you see? You are in control and you always have been. You beat fucking cancer! And now, you’re in control of taking care of your own body… cancer’s not going to come back unless you let it.”
Naomi looked at Emily, mumbling, "See what?" Her expression was slightly curious as she listened to what she had to say. She took a deep breath and nodded slowly along with her, "Yeah, I beat it... I beat it..." she let her eyes settle on Emily's, "for you..." she bit her lip, "I'm sorry I've been upsetting you..." She looked guilty now, her eyes flickered down to the ground.

And, and I didn’t give it to you, alright? Alright. I don’t want somebody chasing me with a spear and piercing my esophagus - because it seem somebody is flourishing the chance of rebellion even without my mighty encouragement.
Alright. [she took a long drag and shivered lightly at the surge of nicotine that went through her] You think people care about me enough to spear you? [she chuckled once and watched the tip burn] Yeah, it's just been getting to me... it's like I'm made of glass.

Emily looked down at the floor as she felt herself being wrapped up in Naomi’s arms. “You just what?” she squeaked, afraid of what the answer would be.
"I just... It's going to be like this forever... isn't it?" she sighed softly, finding she was pulling Emily closer for comfort now.

"Perhaps something that doesn’t threaten your health. Something that doesn’t remind me of… /it/ every time I look at you," she cried. Emily didn’t care anymore if Naomi saw her cry, she was too upset to hold it in any longer.
Naomi realised that this just wasn't going to work. She could talk to Emily about anything but...perhaps, just not this. She sighed and stepped forward to envelope Emily in her arms. She pressed her face into her hair, "I don't want to hurt you...ever... I just-" she was about to talk about it again but she had to hope she was strong enough to just let it drop.

"But smoking isn’t going to fix that!" she pleaded, desperate to get through to her. "There are other ways."
She finally turned back to her, looking expectant, a little shaken, "What ways, Emily?"

“But… you have me. Aren’t I enough” She croaked, silently begging Naomi to look her in the eye
"You know you're everything to me... you know that. This isn't about you, Em." she gave her hands a squeeze but got up again. She began to pace, slowly though, "I'm just... it's shit...you know? Living in fear. O-of the cancer coming back, of-" she gestured outside, to wherever, "- that crazy gun nut..."

{He spoke at he lent over to her and ignited the flame of the small contraption, waiting for the tip to shine an amber color, flashing her a smirk before slumping back into the bench and shoving the lighter back into his pocket. Taking the cigarette that was balancing between his lips he took one large intake eventually allowing the smoke to be released.}

[With the cigarette between her lips, she let Liam light up the stick of nicotine, smirking right back. She liked that she was being encouraged to live a little, though he didn't know just how much this was living for her. She took a long drag, held it in her lungs for a while and then expelled it. She coughed a couple of times and rubbed her chest.] It's been a while, don't fucking judge me. [She shot him a grin and settled against the bench, looking out.] It tasted better the way I remembered it.

Emily closely followed behind the blonde to the living room. “Naomi, please.” She hadn’t meant it to, but her voice had cracked just then. Everything seemed to remind her of it. She couldn’t help herself from going back to when she thought she would loose her forever. She soon felt her eyes building up with tears, and tried her hardest not to let them fall. Taking Naomi’s hands away from her head, Emily held them tightly. “You don’t need one.”
Emily was crying and Naomi couldn't look at her, she could barely stand listening to the sound that made her heart wrench but fuck... She felt her hands being removed and she kept her eyes to the floor, "Emily, I don't feel in control anymore... I- ... I need something... something to blow off steam, to make me feel normal...not so...fucking... fragile."

Maybe, but one leads to another, which leads to another, and soon it becomes a habit. You know that, don’t be stupid. [takes it from her fiancee and throws it in the trash]
Naomi looked at Emily for a while after she did this, she ended up turning away and murmuring, "Would you look at that? Now I really need one." she frowned and went from their kitchen to the living room, taking a seat on the sofa and running her hands through her hair.
