I've seen a few people say/imply that what Louis goes through in TVL is fair because all the vampires are suffering so it makes sense for him to be suffering to.
Okay, but maybe consider that Louis can be made to suffer without that suffering involving racism and anti-blackness.
I know I'm going to be dead for this, but, Buck said something to Tommy to hurt him purposefully only once, Tommy did all three break-ups. Yet, people always see Buck as more of the "at fault" in the relationship
And I see it as something interesting to work with in fics, how Tommy purposefully hurts people to save himself, but then doesn't forgive the slips or let's them talk running away, but people just mostly think that Tommy is mew mew, who does no wrong
Tommy left Buck during the first date when it seemed like Buck wasn't ready (and with how he was acting he wasn't). Tommy actually broke up with Buck out of fear. Tommy left Buck in his kitchen when Buck accidentally implied he didn't have feelings for him anymore. Are these the three breakups you're talking about?
Tommy is not innocent. His communication could've been better for sure, but I think saying Tommy purposefully hurts people to save himself is a bit unfair. He didn't purposefully hurt Buck to save himself. He didn't even go to Buck's planning to breakup. He tried to save himself by ending a relationship that he didn't think could last and inadvertently hurt Buck and himself.
I think some people feel that Buck is more "at fault" because after Tommy asked for another chance and Buck accidentally implied that he doesn't have feelings for him anymore Buck didn't fix it. Does Tommy even know it was a slip? Tommy walks out (ran away) because he got hurt and Buck leaves it at that. He calls Tommy up when the 118 needs help, but we never see him clarify to Tommy that he still has feelings for him, not even after Tommy says, "And for you."
Tommy definitely does wrong but so does Buck. Buck was wrong to never let Tommy know that he does still have feelings for him and no I don't think Tommy walking out means Buck is off the hook. Buck called him when he needed help. He could've called him just to talk things through. "Well Tommy could've called Buck too." Why would Tommy do that when he already asked for another chance, put himself out there, and ended up feeling rejected? It was Buck's turn and the writers never had him take it.
I think every public place that offers food and/or drink should have at least one EpiPen on site at all times. I'm talking about everything from trains and airplanes to cafes, restaurants, food trucks, schools, etc. If the place offers food and/or drink, they should have at least one EpiPen on site and larger places should be required to have more than one.
"Well shouldn't people with food allergies have their own EpiPens?" Yes, but did you know most people aren't aware that they have a food allergy until they have an allergic reaction for the first time? Wouldn't it be so much better if places had EpiPens on site in case of an emergency instead of someone going into anaphylactic shock and then having to wait for an ambulance to arrive or hope another person nearby has an EpiPen?
Also, I live in a country that is actively trying to make it harder for people to have affordable healthcare and EpiPens are expensive. These establishments, especially the big ones, can afford EpiPens easier than some people with food allergies can.
I think it is a worthwhile expense for public places offering food and/or drinks to have EpiPens. People who know they have food allergies might feel a bit more comfortable eating out but people who aren't aware that they have food allergies might have their lives saved by EpiPens being on site.
I have never liked Lestat but I was still going to try to watch TVL to see if my opinion of him would change. I was going to try to watch TVL to see more of the characters that I actually cared about.
After what I'm seeing fans say about the season I'm so glad I didn't watch it. Apparently, all my favorite characters and relationships were fucked over. I remember the rage I felt for Claudia at the end of IWTV season 2. I can't imagine how angry I would feel if I watched TVL week by week and had to witness the racism, misogyny, orientalism, transphobia, etc. firsthand. If I had to watch them slowly ruin all the characters I cared about and all the relationships I cared about, I would probably shed actual angry tears.
I am so sorry for the fans that have been hurt by the way TVL was adapted (or wasn't adapted). You deserved better than that.
If Pedro is really blocking fans and it's not Instagram/Meta bullshit then honestly, I find that kinda funny. Get the fuck off that man's page. lol
How many weeks have people been harassing him because now they think he's a zionist just because he might be dating or friends with a zionist?
BTW, Pedro has been friends/friendly with zionists for years and has STILL been pro Palestine. This is not new. His best friend Sarah Paulson was accused of being a zionist and Pedro didn't drop her and I didn't see all this outrage then. It was revealed that Pedro was allegedly trying to help Gina Carano at one point. I didn't see people suddenly thinking he was transphobic like she is just because he was friendly with her and trying to help. But now Pedro might be dating a guy that might be a zionist and now he automatically is a zionist too. Like he just adopts the politics of whatever people are around him or close to him?
Pedro has been working with or for people and companies with shitty politics for years, yet I didn't see a bunch of outrage and people calling him a zionist until now. Why? Throughout his travels Pedro has probably gone to so many hotels and restaurants that support and/or fund the Palestinian genocide (because unfortunately so many establishments do) and I have never seen anyone care about that until now. Why? What's changed?
It doesn't seem like Pedro has. It doesn't seem like his political beliefs have either. That man is still posting pro Palestine stuff on his Instagram while some people are still in his comments calling him a zionist.
If you're disappointed in him and think he's a zionist then that's fine. Why not just leave him alone then?
"Fans are just letting Pedro know that Rafa is a zionist." You think Pedro doesn't know what Rafa's political beliefs are even though he's known that man for years? You think that strangers to both Pedro and Rafa know more about Rafa's political beliefs than the man that actually knows him and might be dating him? That's crazy to me.
"Fans are just commenting Free Palestine." Yeah, on posts that aren't about Palestine in an attempt to harass him because they've decided that he's a zionist now without any proof or evidence that he is. No, being friends with or dating a zionist doesn't automatically make you a zionist. People forever have been friends with and have had relationships with people with different political opinions than their own. Now you could say it makes Pedro a hypocrite but if he's a hypocrite now then he definitely was already one considering he's been making Disney/Marvel money for years. Being a hypocrite is part of the human experience. How many people are pro Palestine and are still using websites, shopping at places, and working for companies that aren't? And yes, it is the same because if we're using black and white thinking for Pedro then let's use it across the board.
"Fans are just trying to help." Did he ask them to? How are they helping? Commenting "Free Palestine" on all his posts is not helping. Telling him to stop being friends with or stop dating someone that he appears to be close to is not helping. Participating in a hate campaign against him is not helping.
If you don't want to be blocked, then maybe get out of his comments. If Pedro is the one doing the blocking (which he might not, it might just be an Instagram/Meta thing), then he has every right to. He is allowed to block anyone from his page for any reason he sees fit including if he just finds you/your comments annoying. Just because he's a celebrity and some people are fans that does not mean that he just has to tolerate whatever people throw at him. People have been harassing him, harassing his family and friends, threatening him, wishing him harm, etc. for weeks. This is basically the second hate campaign he's had to deal with in the past year, this one seemingly being led by his fans. I don't think either were justified.
I will believe that Pedro is a zionist when I see him sharing zionist opinions and/or content. Until then, I don't think he's a zionist and I think people should either give him grace or just leave him alone.
