Hey, so you know those crack theories that are so random and kind of absurd that you think to yourself "there's no way that the writers would actually do that"? So- I got one of those for you.
Scotty never had his own map
You may be thinking "but Amby, Scotty has 2 maps", yes, I'm aware, Sunroof and Cradles, a chill map and a weird af map. We see Scotty, the game TELLS us he's Scotty, but is it actually the guy?
I'm going with this hoping that you already know the basic lore about him and Cthylla, so lets go:
Ok, so, we know who he his, we know where he lives, and we know his personality. A bright optimistic high schooler (or university student, not sure), as demonstrated in Sunroof. But with the whole Cthylla manipulation thingy (which we are unsure on how it affects the coach, if its mind control, gaslight or just burning out the coach until they go cuckoo), and a theory of mine combined with a bunch of other theories that Eternyx is a very bad place to live and very hard and exhausting to get out from, I like to belive that:
The Scotty we see in Sunroof is Cthylla
(And also that Cradles happens before Sunroof)
Think about it: That map has lots of reflections, such as in the water poodle, the glasses, the store's glass doors and that weird metal thing on the road that I don't know the name. For a character from a season named Beach, Summer and VAMPIRES, you'd think it is to show that he is not a vampire. Even tho you can easily notice he is not a vampire 1 second into the map because he is RIGHT BELOW THE SUN IN A PLANET CALLED >>>SUN<<< HORIZON.
I assume a regular human...coach...whatever like him wouldn't have the need to see his own appearance every 5 seconds, unless it looks new to him (and unless they are narcissistic, which we already have a character for that job 🌹). Someone who took on a new look or FORM, however, would be looking at it several times until they get used to it. Thats the mindset I'm going to explain that Cthylla took over Scotty evetually due to her abilities, so she could have an easy way to get out of her Eternyxian demon life, and start a new life in a planet that is essentially the opposite of her own.
The verse "You're making me feel brand new" on Sunroof also makes me think that Cthylla would be starting a new life. Less "YOU'RE making me feel brand new", and more like "YOUR BODY is making me feel brand new"
Cradles happening before in the timeline is pretty obvious after I stated this. Cthylla's first try at taking over Scotty or whatever. We can tell it's the first time due to Scotty (the real one)'s reaction to it, and the backpack blinking.
Now I'd like to believe that the backpack is now just an empty shell OR Scotty is in there, he is the backpack "fuck off twink! It's my turn now". Now if she is actually trying a new life, or she's just enjoying this youngin's last seconds before she jumps off a cliff with him. I don't know.
Anyway, the chances of this being true are 0.00001%, BUT it can still happen, yk, everything can be signals if you're crazy enough lol. Also, I based Cthylla's personality off of @allyougottado 's headcanon on her (also her human design is pretty neat ngl).
