Bio / Profile
My name's pronounced "arm-uh" not "al-muh". It's short for Almandine.
Chala are creatures of blood and shadow that can transform. They usually resemble black ants.
If killed by someone's flesh directly, like with a fist etc, they will reform using the flesh of the creature that killed them, for example in the case of a punch, they'd reform from the arm.
This removes the body part that killed them from the killer, however it does it in a way like the body part was never formed, rather than leaving a wound or hastily sealed injury.
Chala are known to have fits of rage and the strength of 10 men. Otherwise they generally keep to themselves, so they're not likely to cause humans harm, even if they live among humans.
They are known to disturb menstrual cycles of humans and animals, but this is just a side effect of their form and not intentional.
They have an inbuilt ability to sense water sources, and it's been observed that it rains more often when they're nearby.
Their services have been employed in the past by humans, to deal with dangerous man-eating predators such as lions, and to aid in farming in dryer areas of Africa.
It was believed they were all killed during the slave trade, though rumors persist that there's population living in the USA.
Also they're supposed to be able to pinch people like Spock.
