Whitewashing brick fireplace
I didn't want it to be a painted white brick fireplace. I just wanted to lighten the brick. I mixed 3 parts water 1 part paint. Use a brush. Make sure you have a good drop cloth... Its messy. I tried using a rag in the beginning but it didnt get in the crevices. Use a cheap paint brush bevause you'll end up fraying it by the time you're done. It takes time. Do little dabs so that you don't have runs goung down the brick. Also, i did 3 coats because its so porous.
3D REVERSABLE HAT
I used regular yarn, not bulky. I also used sized G crochet hook.

TAMALE SAUCE
Soooo.... Just when I thought I outdone myself with yummy tamales, I made a sauce to go with... Oh my......
×2 tbs avocado oil (or vegetable oil, or any other neutral oil)
×2 tbs all-purpose flour
×4 tbs chili powder (*not cayenne!)
×1/2 tsp garlic powder
×1/2 teaspoon salt
×1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
×1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
×2 cups chicken or vegetable stock
Heat oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add flour and whisk together over the heat for one minute. Stir in the remaining seasonings (chili powder through oregano). Then gradually add in the stock, whisking constantly to remove lumps. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.

EASY SUSHI
California sushi roll
Let me disclose my secret.... Sushezi. Check it out: Camp Chef Sushezi Roller Kit - Sushi Rolls Made Easy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P8J1GU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_C6SiCbA7RBZQB
You put your sushi ingredients in and it makes the filling into a tube so you just push it out on your dried seaweed and roll!!!

Sushi rice-
1 cup uncooked white rice
1/4 cup white rice vinegar
1 tbs sugar
Filling-

1 red bell pepper sliced in long sticks
1 pack of fake crab meat, sliced in sticks
1 avocado sliced

Panko crumbs
Make sushi rolls using sushezi. Mix mayp and sriracha sauce. Slice suchi rolls into pieces. Put spicy mayo ontop. Put sliced avocado ontop. Drizzle hoisin sauce. Spinkle panko crumbs.
CROQEMBOUSCHE
(Basically, cream puffs stacked into a tower... Pain in the butt, not worth it, just make the cream puffs and eat, BUT if you need an eligant presentation, here you go.)
*Cream Puffs*
-Pudding filling:
2 cups white sugar
4 tablespoons cornstarch
4 cups milk
4 egg yolks
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a large saucepan, mix together the sugar, cornstarch and 3 cups milk. If making chocolate, mix in cocoa powder. Bring to a boil and stir frequently until mixture thickens.
Whisk together last cup of milk with egg yolks. As pudding thickens, add egg yolk mixture and stir frequently. Bring to a boil for 1 minute.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Put in refrigerator to cool.
-Patachu (pastry)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 eggs
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry.
When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells. (If you want to make croquembousche, pipe filling in)
-Spun Sugar
2 1\2 cups gran sugar
1\2 cup water
1\2 cup corn syrup
Mix the ingredients together in a medium pot and, using a pastry brush soaked in water, wash down the sides of the pot to make sure there is no caramelization to color the sugar before you get to temperature.
Heat the ingredients on the stove top to 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from the heat and cool to 275 degrees over a water bath.
Use as "glue" to make your tower of cream puffs. Dip a fork in the sugar syrup and stretch the sugar syrup back and forth across the bottom of a pre-greased bowl, going as quickly as possible.
BRAIDED BREAD
I watched the british baking show and they had a challenge of making a loaf of braided bread. This bread done correctly will have a wonderful crunch crust both ontop and underneath. The inside should be springy that bounces back to shape after slightly pinching.
*Note: When rolling each piece of dough to make ropes to braid, use as little flour as possible. You dont want flour lines when you slice the
bread.
* 3 1/4 bread flour
* 3/4 cup warm water
* 1 package of yeast
* 1 tbs sugar
* 2 eggs
* 3 tbs olive oil
* 1 tsp salt
Mix water, yeast and sugar until dissolve. Mix all ingredients including yeast mixture.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours.
Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Set a third of the dough aside. Divide remaining dough into three pieces. Shape each into a 13-in. rope. Place ropes on a greased baking sheet and braid; pinch ends to seal and tuck under.
Divide reserved dough into three equal pieces; shape each into a 14-in. rope. Braid ropes. Center 14-in. braid on top of the shorter braid. Pinch ends to seal and tuck under. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, beat egg and water; brush over dough. Sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cover with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking. Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool.

~YUMMY CHEWY CINNAMON ROLLS ~ Yes, I am sharing another cinammin roll recipe, this one of mine. You'll be glad I did. The only catch, I used a bread machine, you can still do this without the machine in the traditional way, but honestly it's not the same. (If your not using a bread machine, see my previous cinammon roll recipe below, follow the steps just using these ingredients instead) Rolls: * 4 cups bread flour * 1 pkg. Vanilla pudding mix * 2 1/2 tsp or 1 pkg. of yeast (I used the bread machine yeast) * 1/2 salt * 1 tbs sugar * 1 egg beaten * 1 cup of milk * 4 tbs melted butter * 4 tbs water Filling: * 1 stick of softened butter * 1 cup of brown sugar Frosting: * 1 pkg. Softened cream cheese * 1 cup powdered sugar ( more if you want sweeter) Directions: Put dry ingredients in pan of bread machine first. Then put wet on top. Choose the dough cycle. When finished, knead on floured surface for 3-5 min. Roll dough to 1/4", spread filing over with spatula evenly. Roll dough into a long tube. Spray a 13x9" pan, cut roll into 2" pieces, place into pan. Heat oven 350, Let set until risen. Put pan in preheated oven, bake approx. 20-25 min. Let cool.
