We're not quite real.

Most people can't do it -- cover up their true feelings, pretend to be something they're not. But it doesn't change who you are, or what you are. If you hate what you are, you'll do anything to deny it; you'll feed the lie until it becomes real. But who you are doesn't go away: it waits for you. We put so much work into hiding what's really there; a new coat of paint on rotted wood, creative accounting, the comb-over.       outofthewoods: This isn't going under a cut, but I'll keep it as brief as possible. 

      I'm sure it's pretty obvious already that my activity here has been flatlining for the last few months. I'd love to just blame it all on my schedule, but it's even more to do with a lack of inspiration than a lack of time. I can still write Josh, if 'half-assed' is the new highest standard, but I swear it feels like Josh does not want to be written. On top of which -- I know it's a little early to judge, and promos aren't much to go on -- I'm not sure I like where next season is taking his character. Hell, I didn't agree with what a lot of last season did in that respect.

      Who knows; maybe I'll give this another shot in January if canon doesn't make me flip too many tables. Otherwise, I guess 'hiatus' is close enough. Anybody who's got my cell number can feel free to abuse it, and I'm gonna try to be on Skype regularly again.

Using fancy words does not make you a quality roleplayer. Nor does it make you a better writer than anyone else.

#this irks me a little. #'cause i sometimes tend to use words that a lot of people don't recognize/haven't seen before/etc - but that's simply how i write. #there's a difference between 'using fancy words' that you take from a thesaurus to try and jazz up your replies #and 'using fancy words' because that's what your writing style is. those are the words you know; and thus utilize. #i don't think anybody should be judged on their level of 'quality' regardless of the kind of words they use. #everyone's writing is different. everyone is unique. #i highly doubt that the people who just naturally use a certain kind of language #are doing so because they think they're superior to other roleplayers. #that's not a fair assumption. #and to say that those peoples' particular style doesn't make them 'quality' is bullshit. #/end rant.

      Given the number of times that Aidan had probably wanted to punch him, it would be simple enough to blame inevitability. He just hadn't quite anticipated wanting to punch back. Rather than give into that, since enabling Fight Club in their living room was the last thing they needed, Josh swiped at the blood on his lip with the tip of his tongue and straightened up from the wall he'd staggered against. 

      "-- so are you good now, man, or did you wanna take another swing? 'Cause I'm pretty sure that this isn't what I meant by clearing the air."
