Love love love characters that present themselves as emotionally open social butterflies but the more you see of them the more obvious it is that they’re the most closed off fuckers in the story. Sure, they want to help you with your personal problems and messy emotions, but if you turn that shit back on them, they’ll shut down or deflect every time. Why are you sticking your nose in their business anyway? It’s not like it matters. They’re not a person, they’re just a role being played. They’re the guy who fixes things and saves people. Please ignore the man behind the mask, he’s fine. Everything’s fine.

he waits for claude to say something but all he had was silence. dedue was about to release himself from the other’s grip and be on his way until he spoke.

‘do you not want to find a reason to stay, then?’

the question had him look at the other. no, he didn’t thought of the question as something out of line. he didn’t realize that what he is doing is running away, not wanting to find a reason to keep going or more like to stay. what else should he do now? dimitri is gone, he failed to serve his liege and keep him safe. if he were to stay with claude…. would the same happen too? would he also fail the other male and see how he gets killed before his eyes? no, he won’t stand for that. maybe he is just punishing too harshly. what happened back then with dimitri wasn’t his fault. it just happened that he and dimitri were weak and were overwhelmed by edelgard.

his revenge is sated. he has no one to serve and all he had right now is his home. maybe with dimitri gone they will attack them again, there’s no way he can prove how innocent they are now. will they find the answer they thought was there? can he now prove how innocent the people from duscur are?

‘please… don’t go.’

he heard the man’s plea. he wants him to stay so badly for some reason. maybe… maybe he should stay. something tells him that he should, the thought of going home is giving him quite the bad feeling as if something would happen to him. call it a hunch but something deep inside him is screaming for him to remain here.

“why? why do you want me to stay?”

     DOESN’T complain about it but he may as well have just gotten punched by the retainer for the fallen kingdom. It would have HURT far less than what he asked.

     THOSE words sting, yes, though perhaps he should be more forgiving, more understanding! Dedue’s feelings are more than valid, && maybe the taller male doesn’t WANT to stay. 

oh , but why do you want to leave , dedue ?

     NEVER considered the thought that perahps the other HAS plans for some other life. ( no ! that’s not possible , not with how he had so recklessly fought back there . ) Claude KNOWS better than that. Dedue’s life was GONE - he had nobody left. but… that wasn’t true either.

          ❝ because … ❞     trails for a brief moment. understands && knows that a simple ‘ because ‘ in not a good enough answer. though, why does claude need a reason?

UNPROMPTED - ACCEPTING

he failed dimitri, he swore that he will keep the man safe but in the end the prince was killed by edelgard’s men in battle. how it happened he isn’t sure but he would exact revenge, that’s what he will do in hope that dimitri would forgive his weakness as he couldn’t keep his promise to the man now gone. he saw claude’s forces coming to battle edelgard, he approached them before to state that he will lend a hand in order to bring her head to dimitri and then leave.

the battle was tough as he expected but everyone survived, the war is now done with and he has no reason to keep fighting. he survived another day but he feels like he doesn’t deserve this, to be able to keep on living while dimitri isn’t here to see the end of this chaos. what else can he do now? should he just go back to duscur? that sounds the best now, he couldn’t go back to dimitri’s home, not when he failed him. maybe duscur’s name will never be cleared but it’s fine.

just when he was about to leave he could hear the familiar voice but he choose to ignore it first, he has no business here and he doesn’t have any reason to keep talking to claude. that is when the man reached for his hand and that’s when he stopped, his eyes met the others and the way claude looked at him had dedue raise an eyebrow slightly. he looks almost as he is pleading him right now, how strange. the riegan hair pleading for him? that’s not something he sees everyday but since he is here, might as well listen.

‘stay… i want you… i want you to say.’

those words came quite hard on him. why would the riegan heir want him? unless… did dimitri asked him to look after him if the worse were to happen to him? no, that wouldn’t make sense. dimitri never saw claude as a threat but he would never entrust him to someone he doesn’t trust much. he shakes his head. as nice as the other were he shouldn’t stay.

“i’m sorry but i really can’t accept your request. i have no reason to stay. my fight is done here.” but deep down he wants to stay at his side but he feels he also doesn’t deserve such thing. he failed dimitri and he doesn’t want to fail claude.

☪ //:   ➵GAZE SHIFTS INTO subtle melancholy instead of that of plea. Stays there, briefly, to study, to take in! , the taller male. Never was the one to truly give up after a SINGLE no, but, GODS, he’s considering this time. Who was he, anyway, to keep Dedue here? Perhaps the bonds they had CREATED in the many years prior were GONE. At the very least, they must have been WORN. Wouldn’t blame him if that were the case. After all, Claude had FAILED to maintain their relationship over the years. But it doesn’t mean that he WANTS him to leave.

     PONDERS at the mere thought of it. If he goes, if Claude lets him go, he probably won’t ever be seen AGAIN. Knows the man enough to know that is what EXACTLY will happen. Dedue is quite a staightforward man. USUALLY that is the case. But this? Something about this feels wrong. Regardless of the fact that their relationship hadn’t been sustained over the years, knew that there was something… OFF about this.

please , dedue , i am far too tired for this ….

     A SIGH is what escapes from the Alliance Leader. Really doesn’t want to BEG - not here, not now. Yet, for him? He WOULD. Won’t make the second mistake twice. Perhpas it is selfish of him to do, but is it really wrong to ask for something that will make him happy?

you know, i keep hearing that a new fe game and its more lore/content for fe3h. They really are trying to milk the game dry i suppose. Not necessarily a bad thing though because i think its a great game, but this has me considering in putting something new in the rules.

love the idea of claude speaking arabic or hebrew to his lover, especially the latter since it just means that his walls are so COMPLETELY lowed for them. Theyre low enough for them to come in. And that is something so intimate for him.
