Something changed in the air when the door opened. Almost irritating, annoyingly gnawing at his brain to look up and face whatever sad loser was in the building with him. When he did, he understood the irritation in the air immediately. There were only a handful of people in the world who could throw off his equilibrium without saying a word, and Harry has always been one of them. It didn’t make any logical sense, not after this long, over a decade of no contact and a very clear decision to leave things where they had been left, but Louis had never been able to logic his way through this particular ghost. ༄.° Fourteen years ago, Louis lost his best friend, and Harry lost his. A chance meet up in their hometown diner forces them to have the conversation they've been avoiding for over a decade. A story about second chances, learning what's important, and growing up.

As soon as the word leaves his mouth, Harry feels Louis' fingers curl and lock on the brown strands atop his head. He tugs on Harry's hair, craning his neck back to face him above. Harry's chest moves up and down rapidly, the spit in his mouth struggling to go down his throat due to the uncomfortable angle Louis' got him in. Baby pink lips part open slightly as if Harry is in awe of the man who's got him right where he wants him.

"You've been real rotten, doll." he teases before his voice turns dark again. "Rotten right to the core.”
