Beware of new type of scam bot accounts targetting artists/art enjoyers. (Specifically D&D/fantasy/game fans)

Alright guys so I've noticed a new kind of bot account cropping up. They're accounts posing as artists, who trawl through the notes of other people's art posts following everyone who has liked or reblogged it. Their bios have the AI-giveaway of needlessly flanking every sentence with emojis, and have 'quip-like' sentences such as 'Fantasy artist with a thirst for adventure' or 'Party up with me' etc, just cramming as many D&D/Fantasy fiction buzz words as possible in there, and always end with a line like 'Send me a party invite to commission me'.

These accounts are usually only 1-2 months old (you can check by looking at their blog archive) and ONLY reblog other people's art, and have none of their own supposed artwork or even texts posts to show they're a real person. I'm guessing the grift here is to pose as a nerdy artist to try and get people to follow and then commission them, which they'll almost certainly scam you with AI art, whilst at the same time mass following other artists to scrape their posts to feed into their clanker.

Best port of call is to just block, report, and move on; it's not the first wave of scam bot accounts on tumblr and certainly won't be the last, but it looks like they're gunning for fantasy art nerds now.

If you recently liked, reblogged or interacted with an art post and suddenly gain a new follower shortly after, take a moment to cross check their blog and see if it matches the bill, and if so it's probably a bot account.

i got these adorable teeny tiny dice. and then i realised i had a teeny tiny chest that could hold my teeny tiny dice to match my small chest that holds my normal sized dice. anyway i'm now rocking up to rpg night with these every time.
