how to tell if a person is good or bad based on their voltron icon

lance: probably really funny, but also really sweet. blog is mostly shitposts. cares about lance a lot. generally pretty good. 

pidge: its a gamble honestly. is either a genuinely nice person or just plain annoying. or is new to the fandom and hasn’t been exposed to……. Everything….

allura: literally has done nothing wrong in their life ever. probably gay. 

hunk: is really bitter about the treatment hunk gets from the fandom and the writers. doesn’t really care for any of the popular ships as much as they care for hunk ships. a friend. 

coran: just a big fuckin meme tbh

keith: would straight up take a bullet for keith. either treats him like hes never done Anything Wrong Ever or is extremely critical of his character despite him being their fave (even if its in a joking way). probably neck deep in fandom drama and argues on the Daily. 

thace/ulaz/any blade of marmora member: wasn’t impressed by the galra keith reveal because they have been theorizing about it for months. “thace is still alive and heres why-” 

rolo/nyma: enjoys filler eps. chill? 

zarkon/sendak/any of the villains: why? 

haggar: just wants more female characters :/

the mermaids: gay. fukc the baku. also just wants more female characters

Why is no one talking about how Shiro, Lance’s long time role model and hero, constantly dismisses Lance like he’s nothing.

This definitely hurts… But I think it’s more complicated than that.

Like Shiro obviously doesn’t do that on purpose. The problem here is that he misunderstands what’s important to Lance because the poor kid is so good at pretending everything’s okay even when it’s not. So Shiro praises Lance just as much as he praises everyone else, but to Lance it just looks like Shiro is doing the bare minimum required of him. And meanwhile Shiro thinks they get along great.

Lance is just one of those people that doesn’t seem to need any Extra Attention because he’s so used to not getting it, so even though he’s appreciated by everyone, they don’t feel like they need to go out of their way to say anything. Because it seems like Lance has a good head on his shoulders, but all he really wants is for the others- especially Shiro- to just say one thing to show him how much they really care.

You can’t say that Shiro doesn’t know though. Shiro doesn’t do well with listening to Lance. He just doesn’t.

Lance actually told him that Keith was a hot head and would knife first and ask questions later. Shiro, not being used to that kind of outburst, just fires back with whatever reason he can gather in his head. He then proceeds to be surprised when Keith actually does try to start a fight.

The favoritism he shows towards Keith and Pidge is so big you have to remember that he’s actually intelligent. His behavior is so obvious but it’s practically normal to the rest of the team.

I think Lance really just wants to be acknowledged. Like in the “That’s why we bring our sharpshooter!” scene. It’s the fact that he’s put down more than he’s praised even if he does something good and stupid at the same time. In season one, Lance was practically begging for some type of praise and only got rejection in return.

Shiro’s attitude towards Lance is progressively getting worse. In the first episode, he thanked Lance. By the middle of the first season, Shiro was shutting him down more and more and started to look almost annoyed with Lance. In season two with the Blade of Marmora, Lance actually stood up and said that Keith was probably not the best one bc he’s hotheaded and ask questions later.

So it’s not that Shiro hasn’t been made aware, he probably just refuses to acknowledge what he’s doing and chooses to continue to show favoritism which effectively puts Lance down. Does he mean to hurt his feelings? Probably not. Is he paying attention to them? No.

Shadow of the Past | by @wittyy-name

When Lance is thrown through time, he finds himself one year in the future, in place of the Lance that should be here.

He finds his team to be remarkably familiar, yet distinctly different. They have more scars, a better grip on the whole saving the universe thing, and over a year’s worth of teamwork to bind them together. But the weirdest part? Keith seems to be a lot more touchy with him. Not that he’s complaining… much.

The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance’s places and restore them to their original timelines. But despite the fact that they’re still his friends, Lance can’t help but feel a little out of place among a team that’s been through so much with a Lance that just isn’t him. And it doesn’t help that the team is on edge around him, refusing to tell him anything for fear of influencing and changing the past. Things get even more complicated when they have to rely on the team in the past to complete the switch, leaving Lance to little more than sit, wait, and attempt to fill in his future self’s shoes.

When Lance is thrown through time, his future self from one year ahead is transported to the past in his place.

This Lance is faster, stronger, and markedly more mature. Not only that, but he’s distinctly more intuitive about his teammates and A LOT more touchy with Keith.

The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance’s places and restore them to their original timelines. Things only get more complicated when the Future Lance can’t seem to remember where he was when the switch happened, and he refuses to reveal anything about his own time for fear of influencing the team’s decisions.

Hey guys! I’m really excited to announce my newest fic and collab project with the amazing and talented zizzani! She spitballed a time travel lance swap au at me, and I just loved it so much. Instead of doing one collab fic, we decided to do two, where I write Past!Lance in the future and she write Future!Lance in the past. We’re really excited about this au and this project, so here you go! A time travel au with two fics for the price of one. We’ll be updating each chapter in tandem. There will be a lot of hints and clues and subtle allusions to each other, so please read both fics to get the whole story!
