I'm Sauro or Sid, and this blog is a space to share and discuss music with other alterhumans, whether it's created by us, or music that we find relates to our types in some way. These discussions are open to alterhumans of all kinds.
I'm a dragon, harpy, dromaeosaur, reptile and questioning others, find me on my primary kin sideblog @sauropsidsongs
💿 No DNI I block freely, please be respectful of others, this is not a discourse blog.
Above is a link to the official Alterhuman Records Spotify, where I am compiling mass playlists sorted by community, using clade, family, or other general community groupings. Help grow our collection by sharing music that connects to your own alterhuman experiences. Share playlists to connect with others with similar music tastes or suggest additions to our playlists.
Please include song/album name, artist name, playlist name, and language! If you are fictionfolk feel free to include your source and character name. The fictionfolk playlists are organized by fiction genre, but the music you submit does not have to fit that genre just relate to your type.
Song Example - Running With The Wolves by AURORA in English for the Canine playlist
Album Example - Wild Wet World by Cosmo Sheldrake in English for the Fish playlist.
Currently I only have a handful of playlists, but I'm always looking to add more and community suggestions are appreciated. Suggestions may be opened to community voting so we can choose the best category. Please suggest a few songs along with your playlist suggestion so that new playlists aren’t empty.

Unique sign offs for people who want to track their music suggestions
Dear Fellow Traveller by Sea Wolf is an folk pop track released 11 September 2012. Added to the dragon playlist due it resonating with my personal experience as a nomadic dragon.
The album art features the theta delta, so it’s possible the artist is therian. At the very least the song is definitely about therianthropy!
Rituals by Dog Weekend is an indie single released in 2024. This song is about going into the woods, rejecting your humanity, and becoming dogs with your friends forever and ever and never paying taxes again. I couldn't find any direct references to therianthropy specifically, but Dog Weekend is self described as a furry and make "music for dogs and dog aficionados, which also earns him a place in the alterhuman musician playlist.
Status on Inky Paws #2? I'm reeeally looking forward to reading it. (Sorry if you've already talked about it recently, I couldn't find anything in Tumblr search)
Also, is there a good place to find a list of other alterhuman zines? Especially free to download ones! And if not can you just link a few that you like? 🙏
Status is: Should be done before the end of the year, but can't promise much more than that. Life is incredibly hectic right now (like, you would NOT believe the incalcuable shitstorm going on rn IRL that I haven't been talking about online), but I'm hoping to keep to the same timetable as I did for Inky Paws #1.

while I’m away from this blog I thought I’d leave you all with some podcast recommendations.
Primer is a podcast that discusses music from outside the English speaking world. Each season discusses a new genre, and each episode discusses an album from that genre. Their first season is about Japanese City Po
Heat Rocks was a podcast interviewing musicians, critics, and scholars about the albums that changed their lives. I promise the link above is different from the Primer link, it just looks similar because Primer is by some of the same folk and Heat Rocks promoted it when the show ended so that’s what Spotify shows.
Lost Notes by KCRW is an award winning music documentary podcast. Transcripts are available on the KCRW website.
Fish Bin - Rockfish Recompression by Ray Troll Russell Wodehouse and the Ratfish Wranglers
Rockfish Recompression by Ray Troll, Russell Wodehouse and the Ratfish Wranglers is the second song off the album Fish Worship released in 2015. This track is about how to combat rockfish barotrauma.
suggesting Baumarius for the therian artists playlist! they make instrumental stuff, they have a song called therian too
Baumarius and Syamori are two projects by the composer Lucas Mosach. Based in Pittsburg, PA, USA, Lucas first released music as Baumarius in 2016 and began releasing music as Syamori in 2020. He has a Japanese-influenced avant-garde instrumental style.
could i suggest Rezerwowy Pies (in polish) by Koniec Świata for the canine playlist? its about a dog fending for itself (very vague but im not good at describing what songs are about unfortunately)
Rezerwowy Pies by Koniec Świata is a ska punk song, and the tenth track off the album Hotel Polonia which released 19 October 2012.
