Does a certain song make you feel shifty? Do you really relate a song to your alterhumanity? Well,
Hello and welcome to Altermusic!
I will be posting music recommendations that relate to alterhumanity!
* Note that tumblr is really weird about posts with songs attached! It may, unfortunately, put mature content labels on many of my posts. If any songs I post are actually mature, I will label them myself.

Rules for suggesting songs: (under the cut)
Songs must be related one way or another to any alterhuman ID. This can be a fairly abstract rule, so don't worry too much about it.
Any and all genres are allowed!!
Please keep curse words to a minimal amount. A few are okay, but please keep in mind that many members of this community are young.
Similarly, songs should not have any slurs included in their lyrics. This is non-negotiable, I apologize.
Songs may have sexual undertones, but if they are, please label it as such.
Please be respectful towards any and all identities.
If you are submitting a song rec, please use the template that will be provided.
If you have any questions, please DM me!
My name is Hollow (he/it) and I am your host. But this account isn't about me. If you want to learn more about me, then here is my main account: @hollowsvoid !
Wow okay so, I will once again try to keep posting songs! I've found a few more songs that I personally relate to my alterhumanity, and I am hoping that sharing those will inspire other beings to share their own!
If you want to submit a song that you relate to your alterhumanity in any way, I encourage you to do so!! I have nothing in que right now, and yours will likely go straight to the top!
I really do NOT enjoy most "therian music". Autumn J, or that one "I'm gonna be eaten by a coyote" song, or really just. THAT style of music. Idk what the genre is actually called but in the case of autumn J, the songs are too on the nose about being a therian. The coyote one just annoys me, and in general that style of music just makes my nonhumanity feel like a cutsey little trend and makes my species dysphoria way worse. The ONLY exception to this is the "for human grossly under qualified, for canine grossly over qualified" line but I haven't heard the full song it's from.
Songs like Animal I Have Become (Three Days Grace), Raised By Wolves (Falling in Reverse), Monster (Skillet), Bad Moon Rising (Credence Clearwater Revival), and so on makes me genuinely feel much more in tune with my wereness. It feels more genuine, less of a trend. It feels more raw and primal and animal
The "I'm gonna be eaten by a coyote song" is The Milk Carton by Elio Mei and is about a cat getting outside; it was not written with therians/therianthropy in mind (at least to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong). The other song, the "for human grossly under qualified..." one, is Imposter Syndrome by Sidney Gish. I'm unsure if it's about therianthropy/nonhumanity or if it's a metaphor for something different, which it very well could be. /info
I'm sorry that genre of music makes you feel dysphoric, and you're totally able to not listen to it if you don't like it! But for some of us, especially the younger beings in the community, those songs are very euphoric and even meaningful. I'm sure you didn't intend it, but this post came off (at least to me) as somewhat hostile and invalidating. Perhaps I'm just being sensitive and/or misinterpreting your words or tone, I do have a tendency to do that lol /nm /info
This is meant with no negativity whatsoever by the way!! You're just sharing your opinion and I respect that, I'm just sharing mine too :] /gen
I'm mostly just annoyed with that specific genre being the default of the community. Maybe its because my introduction to alterhumanity and theiranthropy was through the teen werewolves scene & wolf tribute youtube videos, which tend to be very emo, metalhead, and mall-goth adjacent, but I just CANNOT listen to all the popular music in the therian community.
For me it kind of goes hand in hand with therianthropy being treated as a trend and not as an actual valid state of being. I understand the appeal the music has but because of how oversaturated it is, and how it's very much used by the people treating my state of being as a trend, I cannot enjoy it. (Imposter Syndrome being the exception).
If the songs are euphoric and meaningful to you and others, that's great and fine, but I'm allowed to express my distaste of said music genre and how it makes me feel dysphoric, because I'm sure there are others out there with a similar experience.
That totally makes sense!! I wasn't trying to say that you aren't allowed to not like the music, I was just trying to explain how your post came off. But I definitely get what you mean- I don't like how that music is deemed "therian music" and how heavily associated it is with the community despite there being great songs in all genres that can be related to the therian experience.
Pretty much anything by the crane wives but I specifically like hollow moon, take me to war, high horse, tongued and teeth, never live an anchor, metaphor, curses, and turn out the lights.
Also pretty much any yaelokre song but my favorites are and the hound, and Coles response
Mr fox in the fields form fantastic mister fox ^^
Idk why but east coast by Alex g
It doesn't for me but I was thinking recently by Liana Flores might be a good one for sea/water related beings
Kleptomania crow and tho I'm a tortoise by Elio mei
Prey birds by rabbitology
Forty six & 2 by tool
Also don't know why but lover(take me to the moon) by madilyn Gilbert
Doing something a bit different by making a playlist post of some songs that make me shifty.

Hello all! I would simply like to remind everyone that this account relies heavily on the community's input!
I have been trying to use songs that I personally relate to either my alterhumanity or could relate to someone else's, but I may or may not be quickly running out of songs that I personally know of.
So, if you have any songs that you personally relate to your alterhumanity, I encourage you to share them! ^^
