She found it admirable that Estelle cared first for her friends before herself. Sumia, too, would likely ask about the welfare of her friends and loved ones if given the chance. And even if these fortunes weren’t a tell-all, their true purpose was to inspire or calm those who received them. Everything would work out in the end: that was what Sumia aimed to communicate to those who gave her their time.
She held the flower gently in her hands, almost disappointed that she would be plucking its petals. Luckily, she had plenty to choose from, and intended to give Estelle an intact flower by the end of this. Carefully, Sumia plucked a few petals, and they fell to the ground softly before them. "Your friends back home, huh?”
“Let’s see… Although you were whisked away at an inopportune time, your friends will be able to power through whatever obstacles they face. Should you return to them, as people sometimes do, they will benefit greatly from your presence. But rest assured, they are finding their own way, ensuring their own safety as well as that of your home!”
Fate had a funny way of working at times. It was fate which had allowed Estelle to happen upon Yuri, and fate which allowed their travels together to lead through all they had. But it was also fate which had dictated Estelle to cause despair and wreckage. Her powers were a fate, and one which she tried to shirk some of the intended outcomes of. That dichotomy made fate an interesting beast... both comforting and fearsome.
Here and now, however, fate was woven by means of meeting souls from other lands, gazing upon stars formed into new constellations, and discussing why they were all here, and what might be occurring in their homelands in their absence.
Estelle watched intently as Sumia plucked petals from the flower with care-- it was a delicate destruction, one that held the utmost respect and gratitude towards the flower she used. She seemed to watch, to think on the matter, before speaking with a quiet wisdom. It was reassuring, and a calm washed over Estelle upon hearing Sumia’s words.
“I do hope so. Your fortunes are very soothing, Sumia. Even if none of us know exactly what’s to come, we have to pray it will all work out. I thank you for contributing to that faith. It helps, even despite my unwavering belief in my friends.” Estelle’s smile was serene, as she reached for another flower.
“But it is my turn now! I want to try and tell you a fortune of your own so... what is it you would wish to know? Mine may not be as informed or eloquent, but I would like to try and offer you this same comfort.”
