2016 will be the third year that I’ve done this book jar, and I love it! Every time I finish a book, I write the name, author, and date (and sometimes time) that I finish it on a scrap of coloured notecard, and drop it in the jar. At the end of the year, I take all the slips out, arrange them in the order of when I finished them, and write them down in my book journal so I have a record off all the books I read that year, then start all over for the next year. I started doing this in 2014, when I read 46 books, and by the end of 2015 I’d read 56. I love doing this, and it’s become a super fun habit for me. I encourage all readers to try this for a year! It’ll help if you’re like me and read a lot and can never remember if you’ve already read something!
