❝playing hooky❞ sage & theo
Regardless of the seemingly ever-increasing number of nights turned mornings where Theo wakes up in Sage’s arms, nothing could ever fully make it less than surreal when he’s privileged to witness the sight of a beautiful boy—his beautiful boy (a thought that still manages to make him nearly break his face in a smile each time) come to. It never stops being endearing or adorable to see Sage slowly be roused from his sleep; a mess of curls looking all the more fluffy, sluggish movements that were even equally matched with a slowed voice as he strung together words that was no doubt as difficult as it was for Theo due to a sleep muddled brain. Not to mention it helped that his boyfriend was a massive cuddler. Well…truth be told, he was more of an octopus of limbs that suctioned themselves to any available skin on the brunette’s body but Theo was never one to complain considering he loved cuddling with the junior more than anything. It was all the better when it was either morning after cuddles or general morning cuddles—today of which were both and even as fogged up on sleep as his mind was, Theo wasn’t stupid to deprive himself of his cute boyfriend with exceptional cuddles that warmed him more than their actual blanket. A light chuckle bubbled past his lips after catching some of Sage’s words and allowed himself to be pulled back into the younger boy’s arms once again. Theo opened his mouth to make a slight protest about the importance of school and bringing more social awareness to the list of problems he has listed in his official Make A Change notebook that stored all his protest ideas but all of that was pushed to the back of his mind once another yawn escaped his lips. Theo could feel his eyes water from the strength of it, stretching a slight bit to get the full affect and letting out an appreciating groan as he heard the familiar popping sounds of his back cracking. “’f anyone asks, I put up more of a fight.” He murmured in reply, words slurring with the promise of sleep and easily feeling himself give into spending the day in bed with Sage over school. His reply was especially warranted since Sage began kissing against his head down to his neck and he damn well knew that any form of affectionate kisses were Theo’s weak spot. General kisses were loved by the blue eyed brunette but small kisses to his cheek or knuckles or head were things that never failed to make a surge of affection for the younger boy pool in his chest. Theo hummed appreciatively as he felt Sage’s lips travel down his neck, shivering at the warm ghost of his breaths heating up his skin and already making the brunette wish for his lips against his. It was hard to contain his snort at Sage’s comment, flickering his gaze so blue eyes met green in amusement as the covers were pulled up closer to them. “Nice one, love. Really sellin’ me.” Theo teased lightly and brought his fingers to Sage’s chin and leaned his head up to press a soft kiss to his lips. “’m charmed—really.” His teasing grin quickly turned softer before Theo pressed a lingering kiss to Sage’s lips again, murmuring, “I’d pick you over school ‘nyday.”
Sage was finally starting to wake up, his limbs still protesting but his mind clearing from morning haze and a sweet nights sleep. What a blessing it was to wake up breathing in such a familiar and comfortable smell. Theo smelt like home, like a safe place. And waking up to your safe place every morning was the most amazing thing you could do. This made it all the more hard to say goodbye to Theo when he leaves for college but Sage wasn’t even worried about that right now. All he was worried about was getting Theo to stay home from the educational prison that separated them all day long and the workers at the prison who would yell at them to ‘keep their hands to themselves’ once they finally did see each other. Eight hours was too long apart from his boyfriend and his friends from the Green Team would make gagging noises if they heard him say that but it was true. He needed some kind of Theo interaction more than once every eight hours. Call him a love sick puppy, because he definitely was one. When he had to wait a whole school day to see Theo, after school was quite eventful for the two and Sage just couldn’t help it. Being in the honeymoon phase of a relationship is the best phase, just Sage was sure that he wasn’t going to leave this ‘phase’ anytime soon. A wide smile grew on Sage’s face as he heard Theo speak, his words basically meaning, ‘Fine, i’ll stay home’ and Sage squeaked with happiness as he dragged his lips up against the warm skin on the boys neck. “No matter how much f’a fight you put up, y’no match for me.” He sighed out his words, letting them get lost into Theo’s soft skin as they left his lips. He continued to press kisses up and down the boys neck, biting gently on any still raw love bites that he painted on Theo’s skin the night prior. Since Theo had hummed earlier when Sage first gave him a kiss on his neck, he was spurred on to continue and make Theo hum again and again and again. Any noise coming from his boyfriend was like praise for Sage, he needed Theo to make some kind of noise indicating how nice something feels or else Sage’ll knock it off. The sheets were curved right around their torsos after Sage had pulled them up closer, keeping the two warm and persuading them to stay in bed. The pillows agreed with the sheets, telling Sage and Theo to stay in bed as long as they can. “Just want to spend as much time with you s’ I can.” He whispered, smiling at Theo and he could feel his eyes smiling with him because he was just that happy. He thought he couldn’t feel more pleased on a Sunday morning with Theo pressed to his side but as his boyfriend began kissing his lips sweetly --- that’s when Sage was at his happiest. He moved his large hand to cup the back of Theo’s neck, kissing him back gently and letting the last, lingering kiss -- well --- linger for awhile more before pulling back. “Thank you,” Sage whispered. “I guess I’d pick you over school, you’re much more fun to study, learn, and review.” And Sage just thought he was being so damn funny. He pulled his boyfriend back in for another kiss, mumbling against his lips as the kiss turned more deep and with more feeling than the other lazy, morning kisses were. This was was a wake up kiss and one Sage very much enjoyed giving. “Grocery shopping tonight,” He mumbled against Theo’s lips, rolling himself over to hover over the smaller of the two. Each one of his elbows were planted into the sheets, his lips now ghosting over the boys cheekbone. “M’aunt is shit with filling the house with stuff lately, and we can also get stuff that you like and keep it in the fridge. Y’here enough, you need food too.”
