I'm always lurking. Literally always. Sometimes I'm lurking and reading, sometimes I'm lurking and writing, but mostly? I'm just lurking.
My pen name is Elise, which likely gives away the fact that I like to write things. It's what I do. This, in particular, is my home for the little bits of other worlds I get to borrow for a bit, so if you're looking for something specific, this would be the place.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's time for an entire month dedicated to Pedro Pascal hosted by @norththelemon and @alyssamariag!
Author's Note: As a writer, I took some pretty drastic liberties with some of the prompts to make them work from a writing perspective. All prompts have been adapted to fit a specific character and will be listed as the month goes on, as I don't write RPF! Drabbles marked with * are rated M and drabbles with *** are rated E, Minors DNI. All drabbles list specific warnings, if applicable.

New year, new challenge! I'm so excited to join in on Raindro this year, a challenge started by kiyomeji celebrating Pedro in every tone on the color wheel. Figuring out how to adapt each of these challenges to function from a writing mindset is always challenging but also so enjoyable, and Raindro is no exception! Pairing: Frankie Morales x f!reader
Rating: G for General Fluff here!
Word Count: 1953
a/n: I haven't written Frankie in so long and this genuinely felt like returning to my roots! Get ready for some fluff and...oh...you might want to get Lovesong by The Cure queued up.
You feel like you're back in high school, when the intensity of your first real crush crashed into your reality and took your every thought from Twilight novels and Friday night plans at Dairy Queen and redirected them to him. The abrupt transition your brain has made years later feels achingly familiar, because once again you're no longer thinking about work or your new Friday night plans with the boys, but rather you're consistently stuck on him.
A different him, of course, but still him. His eyes. The way he smiles. The hat you long to remove from his head to expose the mess of curls awaiting below. The sound of his laugh. The way he leans into you slightly whenever you're pressed closely together when everyone's at your house.
In short, you're head over heels for him, and you're also far too frightened to even remotely entertain the idea of telling him.
After all, when you'd met Frankie, he'd been nothing more than Benny's friend. He was married at the time, a soon-to-be-father, and very much in love with someone else. You'd been with Benny, although it was quickly apparent that while you were always meant to be in each other's lives, you most certainly weren't meant to be in each other's beds. Instead, you became a part of their group, the missing piece in their puzzle, and things started to change.
Frankie's marriage ended abruptly. He gained partial custody of his daughter. He took all of it hard, blaming himself for the fall of the relationship, and soon you found yourself spending the time you'd previously allotted for scrolling through dating apps on making sure he remembered to eat. The hours spent at his house increased exponentially, to the point where driving to his place felt more routine than driving to your own.
And somewhere along the line, he'd slowly woven himself into your existence.
"You've gotta tell him," Benny reminds you for what must be the millionth time, because of course he knows. He's known since the first moment you looked at Frankie just a little differently. He's known since that night at your house, when Frankie had twirled you around to whatever song had been playing and for the first time in a long time, you both laughed. And, since Benny's known the entire time, he's also spent plenty of time trying to get you to tell him.
Instead, you stare blankly at him, the shopping cart you'd been pushing coming to a halt. "And fuck up everything? Our friendship? The five of us? What if it..."
"Doesn't work?" he finishes for you with a smirk, adding a couple of jars of salsa to the cart before continuing down the aisle. "Trust me, you're not going to fuck things up."
There's a frown on your face as you reluctantly follow him. "How do you know that?"
Benny shrugs. "I just know."
"How?" you ask again, because the last thing you want to do is tell Frankie how you feel only for every relationship you've built since moving to Florida to implode.
The soft sound of pop music on the store speakers and the general hum of carts and people fill the space around you as Benny adds chips to the cart. "Can't you just trust me on this one?" he returns, his eyes locked in on yours in what feels like a desperate attempt to get you to understand that he's telling the truth.
You hold his gaze until he breaks it, and he doesn't bring it up again. Neither do you, but the thought lingers in your brain until you're back home, unpacking the groceries with Benny making jokes at your side. You don't particularly hear them, because your entire mind is still focused on what things might look like if you did tell him.
On one hand, it could go horrifically. He could turn you down and the relationship between the two of you would be soiled forever, eventually pulling the entire group apart at the seams in a way that none of them deserved. You could lose him entirely, and the prospect of that felt incomprehensible. But on the other hand, maybe Benny was right. Maybe you did need to just be honest with Frankie, because maybe his thoughts mirror your own and things could work out. One less house between the five of you, with a room for his daughter and a backyard perfect for gardening. Evenings imitating the dance you'd shared in the living room that first night, lazy Sunday mornings beneath the sheets of your king bed, summer trips to the beach.
"Hey."
The greeting shakes you from the tumbling thoughts that linger at the edge of your awareness, and at first you're certain that Benny's caught you daydreaming again. But when you turn it isn't Benny that you find.
"Can we talk?" Frankie asks, and you feel the way your heart sinks into your stomach. He's staring at you, the same nervousness you feel somehow reflected in his own expression, but he looks good. His usual hat is missing and, in a rare sighting, he has a button-down settled over his shoulders instead of just a t-shirt. Every possibility that had been pulsing through your mind just moments before seemingly rushes back all at once, paralyzing you until a gentle hand on your back, Benny's, encourages you to move forward.
You must nod, although you're completely unaware of everything other than the focus it's requiring to put one foot in front of the other as he leads you to his truck. It's parked on the side of the street in the same spot it always is, right next to your mailbox, and you pause when he opens the passenger door and offers his hand.
"Where are we going? We have people inside and..."
The words come out harsher than you intend for them to, but he doesn't seem to mind, because he reassures you with a soft smile. "Just get in," he asks softly, "please?"
With a curious tilt of your head, you study him and then take his hand, letting him help you up into the cab. He shuts the door behind you and hurries around to the opposite side, the silence deafening once he's enclosed the two of you in the small space.
You let it linger for a moment.
"Frankie," you start at the same time he whispers your name, his body turning toward you slightly as he says it. You laugh, shaking your head as you do the same. "No, you go."
He swallows, looking more nervous than the day his daughter was born and mildly worse than the days leading up to his divorce. "I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me since..." he trails off, but you don't need him to continue.
"Of course," you return, reaching out a tentative hand to rest on his forearm as you try to swallow the disappointment that you're surprised has taken over. "What kind of friend would I be if I let you try to figure all of this out alone?"
Frankie's eyes snap up to yours, and when he lets your hand fall from his arm you wonder if you've actually offended him. If this is the moment where he says that while he's thankful, things might be going too far. That he needs space. That this is the same kind of rejection you'd faced all those years ago, only this time there isn't a locker you can hide your face in to obscure the tears.
But then he reaches over to your side of the cab and flips open the glove box. The CD case he pulls out advertises an old Fleetwood Mac album, and you can't help the furrow of your brow as he holds it out for you to take.
"What's this?"
"Open it," he instructs, holding it just a bit closer for you in a second silent request to trust him.
You take it from his hand, doing your best to ignore the spark that ignites the second your fingers trace his own, but where you'd expected the CD inside the case to match the artwork on the outside, you quickly realize that you were dead wrong.
And maybe, just maybe, Benny was right.
The bright silver of the disc reflects the soft pink and orange hues of the setting sun outside, framing the way he's written your name across the surface. "I'm not really that great with words, so..." Frankie mumbles from beside you, already reaching over to carefully extract the CD from the case so he can pop it into the player his truck still has. The music queues up faster than you'd expect, and at first you don't hear anything, but then Frankie adjusts the volume just as the first notes of Lovesong by The Cure starts to play.
You're truthfully more aware of the way your heart feels like it's about to beat out of your chest than you are of the song itself, but before you can really comprehend any of it, you've launched yourself across the bench seat to press your lips firmly against his. He's surprised for a second, but when his hands find your hips it feels more natural than anything you've ever experienced. You pull back, your forehead just barely touching his as you breathe out heavily.
"I will always love you, too," you assure him before the song even reaches the chorus, and he responds by pulling you fully into his lap, your knees situated on either side of his hips as he guides your mouth to his once more. He doesn't let you go, not until you're both desperately in need of air and the spread of darkness makes it harder and harder to see one another. You're only faintly aware of the way All the Small Things now plays through the speakers as you nuzzle his nose with your own and you start to laugh.
Frankie joins in automatically, his hands running up and down your back. "What?"
You close your eyes, taking in a deep breath to soothe your giggling. "Benny was right."
His laughter picks back up, even though he's staring at you like you have three heads. "Benny? How the fuck did Benny know?"
"Didn't he put you up to this?" you ask quickly, because it wouldn't be the first time your friend had tried to meddle in your love life after your own relationship hadn't worked out, so you just assumed that he was behind this, but Frankie shakes his head.
"Santi did."
For a second you both remain frozen, but as realization dawns you're turning to look back at your house, where three sets of eyes stare at you from your front window. Benny and Santiago dodge out of view quickly, leaving just Santiago's girlfriend, who smiles and gives the two of you an awkward, knowing wave.
You both collapse into laughter again, your head finding its place on Frankie's shoulder as he pulls you closer. "He's been on my case for months," he breathes out against your ear, "and then last week he made a joke about how I should just make a mixed tape if I couldn't figure out what to say but I don't have a cassette player anymore so even though it's cheesy I thought..."
"Hey," you soothe, pulling back to cup his face with your hands, "it's perfect. You did perfect."
"Yeah?" Frankie asks, his eyes searching yours.
You nod, and when you kiss him again it feels like more than just a beginning. It's more than just a promise.
Day One of Raindro 2026: White
Raindro is hosted by @norththelemon and @alyssamariag. Find the complete prompt list HERE and view my entire Raindro 2026 catalog HERE.
Pairing: Harry Castillo x reader (no descriptions beyond reader does wear a wedding dress and makeup)
Rating: G - starting off strong with fluff, although it should be noted that there are descriptions of a panic attack included in this fic.
Word Count: 832
a/n: RAINDRO IS BACK! I'm so thrilled to be participating again this year, and where in 2025 I really tried to portray the emotions of each color, this time we're just going straightforward and simple and everything involves an object! I love mixing it up with these challenges to make them work from a fic perspective while also creating new hurdles for myself to jump over! I hope you enjoy!
"Please go get him."
Your bridesmaids stand staring at you, wide eyed and, honestly, probably a little terrified at the panic you've showcased in the last five minutes. They'd seemingly gotten used to the calm and collected bride, the one that eloquently arranged every detail of her wedding and appeared to be the very last person anyone would expect to have cold feet or exhibit even an ounce of bridezilla energy.
And yet, here you are.
"But it's bad luck for the groom to..."
"I don't care," you grit out, because you're not about to start thinking about whether a lifetime of happiness will be shattered because of a superstition you don't even believe in when you're very aware that you won't even make it to the aisle if you don't see him in the next five minutes.
You can hear them whispering, and you make out the distinct instruction of someone sending someone else to find him, just before the ache in your chest closes in and air becomes a harder to find. If you were at home you'd be curled up on the closet floor with darkness as your blanket, but here? Now? With an entire room filled with people waiting for you? There's nowhere else to go.
Which is exactly why you need him.
"Where is she?"
You lock in on his voice, even though you can't see him with how tightly your eyes are pressed together, and for a brief second you wonder if this is the moment he'll run. If, after seeing you like this, he'll still want to marry you, but the thought disappears just as quickly as it came when you feel his warm hands wrap around your own.
"Hey, Sweetheart. I'm here." Harry's words are soft, his thumb already stroking the inside of your wrist to ground you. "Can you breathe with me?"
The routine he leads you through is familiar to you both. A slow breath in through your nose, a pause, and then an even slower release past your lips. You repeat it, again and again, as his touch continues to soothe your soul. You follow his instructions until you're once again aware of the empty room around you, of the white dress that covers your skin, and of the man that's kneeling patiently in front of you.
"There you are," Harry whispers, one of his hands leaving yours to wipe at the tears that have fallen over your cheeks.
He doesn't ask if you're okay, because he knows that you weren't but you will be. He doesn't press for what triggered it, because he knows that everything about this day is overwhelming, even if you'd settled on the smallest ceremony possible. He doesn't rush you, he doesn't run, and he doesn't remind you like the others did that it's your wedding day and you may have just cursed your entire marriage by having him come in here. Instead, he waits. The same way he always does.
And when you calm fully, after your fingers squeeze tightly around his to signal that you're okay and you've opened your eyes, he's looking at you. Not with the disgust that a part of you had feared just minutes ago or the worry that's usually etched into the lines of his face when these things happen, but something else entirely. "What?" you ask him, a soft, almost nervous, laugh escaping your lungs.
"You're stunning," he breathes out, and it's then that you realize that this is the first time he's seeing you since you reluctantly kissed him goodbye the night before. It's not at the end of the aisle or in a carefully captured first look before the ceremony. It's in a bridal suite with mascara smudged around your eyes and your hair slightly askew. But he's still here, telling you that you're beautiful.
For the first time since the anxiety threatened at the edges of your vision, you smile wholeheartedly. "Yeah?"
Harry's grinning too, just as brightly as the moment he first saw you, and he leans in, peppering every inch of your face with the faint press of his lips. "Yeah," he confirms, "and I cannot wait to marry you."
There's no stopping the laughter that bubbles in your chest, your giggles filling the previously tense room as you playfully try to push him away. "Well if you don't stop ruining my makeup more than I already have..." you trail off, too distracted by his actions to finish your sentence.
His motions slow, and he ends with a soft kiss to the corner of your lips and then pulls back. "Even then, you'd still be the most beautiful bride to me."
You take another deep breath, one that he takes with you before he presses a last, lingering kiss to the back of your hand.
"Should we go get married?" he asks, helping you stand.
"Yeah," you confirm, reaching out the straighten the calla lily pinned to his lapel, "let's go get married."
Yes, I've been quiet, but I'm never one to pass up another challenge, and for the second year in a row I'm thrilled to be joining Raindro! Originally created by kiyomeji, the challenge is hosted in 2026 by @alyssamariag and @norththelemon!
All prompts have been adapted to fit a specific character and will be listed as the month goes on.

Silver: Lovesong☁️💙

I am more aware than ever of how I've disappeared over the past few months. Life definitely got the best of me, but I'm happy to be on my way back to writing on a more regular basis (or, at least, writing fun stuff instead of the instruction manuals I write to pay my bills). In the meantime, here are a few updates!
Raindro is Coming
For those of you who don't know what Raindro is, it's a month long challenge set in April with prompts for every color of the rainbow and it is, of course, all focused on Pedro. I am a huge fan of art by @looshelle, who was kind enough to make this beautiful work for me that lives in my brain rent free. It's based on THIS Javi fic I wrote for last year's Raindro and it just really deserves to be seen by the world! Thank you so so so so so much to @looshelle for bringing one of my favorite fics to life!
Fic Recommendations
This is a project I started last year but still haven't fully finished because of life getting busy, but I'm so excited to be creating a space to share some of my favorite fics over on my sideblog, @lurking-and-reading! Getting things organized over there (partially even for my own benefit) is one of my priorities this spring, so keep an eye on that space as well!
That's all for now, but I'm excited to see what 2026 has to bring!!!
I reblogged her late last year and my 2024 has been very satisfying work-wise and (secure enough to not stress out) money-wise so far. Money Snake is wise and good.

What's Up With the Fic Key?
I realized that I really wanted a better coding system for my fics, not just for you, but for myself. Adding a key is something I've wanted to do for a while, and I've finally come up with a system that feels incredibly comfortable to me. Here's what each of the elements signifies:
✨ = Author’s Favorite
Everyone's got favorite fics, myself included. Works marked with this symbol are some of the pieces that I feel represent some of my strongest work. That or I just love them to death (looking at you, Peña fics).
🥀= Angst
Works marked with the dying rose feature significant amounts of angst or deal with difficult emotional content.
🔥 = NSFW
I'd hope that this one is self-explanatory, but if not, works marked with this symbol feature explicit content. All drabbles feature specific warnings, if applicable, but it's the responsibility of individual readers to monitor what they're reading. Minors DNI.
☁️ = Fluff
I love living in Fluff City, and if you see this symbol then you know that that's where that fic is located! I know so many people love the NSFW content (myself included), but I genuinely believe that we need more fluff in this world.
‼️= Contains Spoilers
Pieces marked with this symbol may feature significant spoilers pertaining to the specific world or character. Obviously I'm not able to monitor what everyone knows though, so please tread lightly if you're unfamiliar with specific content and are also worried about spoilers.
🌿 = Mature
Sort of a sub-category for NSFW, fics marked with the Mature symbol may feature coarse language, suggestive content, or reference mature themes. All drabbles feature specific warnings, if applicable, but it is the responsibility of individual readers to monitor what they're reading.
💜 = Pedrotober
All works marked with the Pedrotober symbol were created as a part of the yearly Pedrotober challenge. Because I do not write RPF, I did take some pretty drastic liberties with some of the prompts to adapt them to specific characters.
💙 = Raindro
Pieces marked with the blue heart symbol indicate that they were created as a part of the the Raindro challenge. Just as with Pedrotober, liberties may have been taken to adapt the prompts to specific characters.
Why So Many Masterlists?
It turns out Tumblr only allows you 100 links per post, and when Joel Miller takes up over 30 links all on his own, things start to get a bit tight. To combat this, I've split everything up into a series of masterlists all linked together to make life easier for me and to make my fics earlier for you to find!
Do you have any fic recommendations?
Yes! One of my goals moving forward is to be better about sharing my own fic recommendations because, as previously stated, I spend a lot of time lurking and reading and I feel like I never give enough credit to some of the incredible writers I share this space with.
To make my own life easier in that regard, I've started a side-blog specifically for sharing my recommendations and fics that I love. Just check out @lurking-and-reading to get started!
Can I Request a Fic?
You absolutely can (my inbox is always open) but I cannot guarantee when I'll get around to it! I live a pretty full life and am slowly working on my first novel alongside my full-time job and two side hustles, but I'm also an incredibly collaborative person so ask and you may just receive!
You cannot tell me that Ted isn't at least a little bit like an older version of Javi P, which means I'm immediately attached to him. I cannot wait to spend more time writing him in the near future!
All fics list specific warnings, if applicable.

I absolutely fell in love with the little universe I developed for him during Pedrotober 2024 and I'm still here, eagerly writing him. And, for the record, in my head he's a science teacher...that might be important for you to know.
