Too much raw Fade had destabilized the channels she’d built within herself over a lifetime of work. But the work could be re-done. She could rebuild those pathways with enough long, patient work. Not Hawke’s specialty. But her partners are both experts in diligence. Through it all, the Fade still haunted not only her dreams, but her waking hours as well. Shades crept in the corners of her eyes with ghosts of her loved ones crying out to her, filling her head with twisted memories and visions of terror. But, you know, you try to learn to live with these things.

Okay FINE I’ll draw the romanceable darkspawn from my dreams everyone calm down not all at once *crowd booing*
- HUSK
-born of a broodmother in Ferelden, has real thick dog lord accent (not that it’s easy to understand him w a lack of lips)
-is tapped into the darkspawn hive mind but for some reason developed capacity for independent rational thought which immediately drove him insane, but survived it.
-can make this rational thought communicable through the taint to other darkspawn. If they survive becoming sentient they become part of his war band.
-first thing he did with enough soldiers was kill the broodmother he came from and all the spawn in that hive
- believes darkspawn are cursed and should be wiped out (including himself once all the others are felled by his blade)
-keeps away from cities and villages bc he knows his bodily fluids can taint food and water and make people sick. Still sometimes sneaks in disguised if desperate (in need of supplies/weapons ) incredibly careful to cover up everything so he doesn’t touch w bare skin and contaminate
-if recruited as a companion keeps his camp w his warband at least a mile from everyone else’s camp
-no u can’t touch or sleep with him because of the taint. He refuses to even consider it especially w high approval or romantic feelings. Lots of angst and self hatred. Gets mad if you confess feelings to him bc he’s cursed and plans to die once he’s completed his mission or die trying. He’s doomed and won’t allow u to go down w him.
-can only engage in physical side of relationship if ur character is a warden. And even then he needs a lot of time and convincing. If u get him to relax and open up he’s extremely touch starved and will probably cry the first time he experiences gentle contact. Even still he’s prone to break off the relationship randomly because of his own wretched self opinion. (U can soothe him and bring him back tho)
-can eventually perform the joining on him if warden or allied with wardens. It will make his taint less communicable and stabilize him. Won’t change physical appearance but he won’t be as wrecked about poisoning everything he touches (win!)

Veilguard's canon, Harding sacrificed herself to kill Gilan'nain. Rook in this canon is an elven, spell blade Crow. She chose to save the Crows as well, when the dragons attacked.
