is this ship popular because it’s legitimately compelling or is it popular because it’s the easiest to decontextualize and write college roommate AUs about?
this post broke containment and is getting ‘let people have fun and enjoy things’ comments, so i want to clarify that i hate fun and want to personally bludgeon everyone who has ever written a college roommate AU with a hammer
Xena Warrior Princess 3.18 Fins, Femmes And Gems
the moon is a lesbian and she hates terfs
the moon told me personally that she thinks you’re obnoxious and hopes you never get a girlfriend
I have a theory that the moon IS a trans woman cause she’s always associated with feminine things but when we saw the craters that look like a face we called it “The Man In The Moon”. She’s a woman with a face that people may perceive as male. She’s a beautiful trans woman
the moon is a beautiful trans woman who hates terfs and shows her face every night to remind other trans women they are beautiful and strong and loved and important and wonderful and that terfs and their opinions dont matter
I wanna add to this if it’s ok?? In Hindu mythology, Chandra, the moon, was originally thought of as a male deity. However, as time went on, symbolism involving the moon and the name “Chandra” itself became identified with femininity, with beautiful girls being described as having “moon-like faces,” with their dark, long hair reminding lovers of the midnight sky, and names like “Nilaa” (”moon” in Tamil) and “Indu” (in Sanskrit) are now pretty much now completely girl names!
AlsO Chandra is married to 27 wives, who are all stars. The moon is a trans lesbian and is gay for all the stars in the sky.
Reblog if you’re gay for the trans lesbian poly moon who supports all woman.
@sapphic-dice
wait i just found out you can be nice to people and be their friend i thought we had to kill them all cause i was raised in a lab to be a living weapon
i think we should bring this back (with some amendments ofc) if we ever needed an "internet etiquette" for the younger generations, now is the moment to remind them. purity culture kills fandom
as well as the three laws of fandom:
Don't Like, Don't Read (DL;DR), Your Kink is not My Kink And That's OK (YKINMKATO) and Ship and Let Ship
📣 Purity culture kills fandom! 📣
NO ONE LIVING hasn't been squicked out by something. There's over 7 billion of us, my delights and disgusts aren't universal. So I move on. Don't like the ship? Move on. Don't like____? Move on.
I am not an exception. Neither are you. I don't like it I move on and shut my gob about it because everyone everywhere is squicked out by something and they need to put the thing down and just…motor.
This but also:
Frames this entire post and hangs it over the fireplace.
I’m gonna propose “I guess you haven’t read the silmarillion then :/” as a default response to anyone not understanding a reference to something obscure. even if it’s not remotely Tolkien related. I want to build up a perception that perhaps the sum total of human knowledge is contained in the silmarillion
This is the polar opposite of this:
XKCD and Tumblr once again providing weapons I cannot use
the need to talk about the characters vs the fear that all of my analysis is just empty prose and surface level understanding
Me 20 seconds after saying anything about my favorite characters:
it's meee I'm your guardian angel hiiiiii 😇 okay🙏 so. in about six months, you're gonna die of starvation. 🥺 and if I don't protect you, I will get: #fired! 🫢 and that is No Good 🙅♀️ hahaaa So. 🙏 I looked into causes of starvation, and it turns out: Your death is totally preventable! 😯 Uh oh! 😆 There's more than enough food to sustain you without interfering with anyone else's survival, but you're not allowed to have it! 🤨 Whaaat? 🤷♀️ Apparently, your death is premeditated by thousands of things called "shareholders." So. 🙏 I've been killing people,
saw someone trying to roast this guy on reddit but all the comments were just like "fuck off, that's based"
nature is healing
FUCK YEAH.
Where's that post about the guy with a sword the size of a surfboard strapped to his back actually being the most feared lawyer in the Nine Realms or whatever?
I think children should be allowed to vote their stepparent out of the home
stepdad has to keep his approval rating up. or else.
everyone is saying “and biological parents too” which I absolutely agree with but this post is about the sheer helplessly of being a child and having your parent bringing some random guy or lady into your house and having no say over it and your opinions are not taken seriously because you are just a child. so many children are harmed this way and they’re totally powerless to escape the situation or remove the adult from their life.
Being critical of your interests is sooooo fun when you have the critic gene & then you sound kind of insane to the average tv watcher when you're like "this is my favorite show, It's Racist" & then you try to clarify what you mean & get that [Speech (legendary) - FAILURE] "the racism is really interesting though"
[Speech (legendary) - SUCCESS] I find the sociopolitical context of pulpy old sci-fi born circa the civil rights movement really fascinating to analyze especially when it was progressive for its time but still reveals the writers' unexamined biases in the subtext
legitimately though nothing will be funnier than being on tumblr in 2017 when my mutuals were posting about taz balance, specifically during the reunion tour/stolen century/story&song era, and hearing everyone talk about "lup this" and "lup that." then a year later i start listening to taz balance and i'm like "wow i'm so excited to meet this lup character everyone loves so much :)" and then the story starts and i'm like "wow this is so fun i wonder when lup will show up :)"
[ID: handshake meme with one arm labeled "lich barry" and the other labeled "me," together labeled: "hey why isn't lup with these guys." End ID.]
it’s not ‘talking to myself’ it’s called a soliloquy you fuck
#it’s only a soliloquy if it’s in verse #otherwise it’s just a sparkling mental breakdown
people talk about how we need to bring back "don't feed the trolls" rhetoric for modern internet ragebait and I agree but also I think the most useful thing from the Old Internet that I miss is LURKING
be a lurker. just read things and think about them without feeling the need to weigh in or call out or disseminate everything you encounter. it's so nice and so freeing and it's a good way to learn things.
I have frequently regretted getting involved in shit that didn't involve me online but you know what I've never regretted doing? Lurking. literally lurk moar
The prospect of trans Ryland Grace (in any direction) is one I love but it's also so funny because it means at some point after waking up he had a very shocking realisation
I keep thinking how lucky it is that Grace is a teacher. And not just any teacher, but one who's worked with kids (who are being introduced to more complex concepts for the first time) and experienced scientists (who are extremely intelligent and experts in their fields). There are so many times throughout the book where whatever Grace and Rocky are doing or talking about is made so much easier because Grace knows how to teach someone who is both incredibly smart and also learning drastically new things with little prior knowledge. Despite the situation, he was actually really well equipped and one of the best possible people to make first contact with an intelligent alien species
