Good morning sophonts, my coworkers at the Veterinary clinic decided it was in my interest to socialise more outside of work and as such (without my knowledge or permission mind) created this profile for me and refuse to allow me to delete it.

My workplace disagreements aside I have been curious to see what you rascals get up to when your owners aren’t around to supervise you ☺️

Abit about myself, I’m Alyra, 3rd bloom, she/her and senior Veterinary practitioner, I’ve cared for plenty of adorable florets and independent sophonts and I’d love to hear from you all, my door is always open.

Subject: A quick word on sophont placements

Good day cycle to all aboard the vessel. I hope everyone’s in good spirits as we move through the recent uptick in admissions.

I’m writing to inform all xeno-veterinary staff aswell as Any relevant support staff of an ongoing discrepancy with with our ward admissions.

The sniffles ward has recently seen a plateau of admissions since the domestication of Typhon-4 about 2 months ago which would be fine were it not for a matter that’s come to my attention, some of the cuties being admitted outside the sniffles ward (for example the intake ward, the feralist ward ect.) aren’t infact in urgent need of care at all and are being kept as a means of ‘onboarding’ petals for domestication.

This is a clear violation of procedure and protocol as determined in the policy for admissions, page 423 paragraph 34 line 12. I’ll not insult all our collective intelligences quoting the paperwork, but this email is a reminder to all staff that the wards mentioned aswell as our other treatment wards are not here to speed up your notices of intent with pusdo-medical necessity and nurse uniforms!

That’s what the sniffles ward is for, we have it for a reason, admit them there and do your dammed jobs

One of the feralists that came through the clinic today for onboarding was convinced that the accord would rise once again, not an uncommon phrase to hear from the confused darlings fresh off the Terran ships, but this one had the most interesting reason for believing so.

He and many other Terrans all wager their currency on making predictions, and the prediction that the accord would win was far higher then the alternative, it was this cuties belief that the ‘rational hand of the free market has decided what truth is and valued it accordingly’ and that his prediction market will be the basis of a capitalist utopia where all knowledge becomes financialized…..

I don’t know what half of those words meant but I decided to up their dose and gave him enough class Gs to turn every chromosome in her body feminine. After that I waved her off to their new home at the J cafe, no more funny words for you petal.

Of course petal! Our domestication centres will be overjoyed to match you with your perfect owner, they’ll give you a comfy bed and snacks and talk to you about what you want most in an owner. Before you know it you’ll be wrapped up in their arms and on your way to becoming the most adorable rambunctious raccoon floret on the ship

And remember petal, it costs nothing, cost is a capitalist lie you were taught to keep you from stealing shineys, the compact wants you to have all the shineys you desire

Everyone knows you have Catfolk implants and mouse folk and whatnot... Do you have options for every Terran animal? Is there a raccoon option? Asking for a floret friend

Petal I’m going to save you some time and just get to the more interesting implants,

Tardigrade implants to allow a cutie to survive even in the vacuum of space for our more anxious owners

Gasious implants that let the dears disparate into a fine mist when they get crowd anxiety

Non-Newtonian implants that make them hard on impact but soft and pliable when rubbed (although I feel like most Terrans behave like this already)

But to answer your question directly we have a delightful set of raccoon implants I think you’ll enjoy very much, and yes, they come with the bandit mask for when you’re feeling alittle mischievous 😉

Would a sophont who can't use their legs be allowed to keep their crutches and/or wheelchair if they didn't like the idea of getting prosthetic legs? (And where fine asking for help when they need it of course) And does the answer change if they are a floret or not? Sorry if someone's already asked this!

Of course! We embrace all kinds of bodies. A happy body is a good body, no matter what its abilities; as long as you enjoy being in your body, that's what matters! This is true for any xenosophont. We will find the best way to accommodate your needs, including if that means not being ambulatory!

I’ve had so many cuties come through our office with the same concern, the look on their faces when they see what affini tech can do for crutches and other assistive devices.

Stairs are no concern for the VBTU. (vine based transport unit), and it even comes with a retractable thorny covering on the handles to gently remind others it’s rude to touch others assistive devices

Many cuties feel like the feral breakers are scary or are going to hurt them! - perish the thought. Rest assured my darlings you have nothing to worry about, the Feral breakers are not assigned to good petals, not even petals that like to misbehave and be bratty, they’re only for the unfortunate darlings who need more firm, direct attention.

Not to mention that many Feral breakers despite their size and appearance are just doing their job, once they’re out of the angry sprouts education ward they’re just as sociable and friendly as any affini!

I’ve taken some time to get the thoughts of a few feralbreakers here.

Personally I’ve always enjoyed the chance to work with troubled Terrans, I was abit of an angry firstbloom myself and realy I just needed someone to notice me and let me express myself so being there for misguided and angry Terrans is so rewarding when they finally give in and let themselves be loved

With so much work before me a lot of young blooms ask how I don’t give into the urge to simply force the xenodrugs into the troublesome Terrans and be done with it. That would be easy and the Terran would be happy, but it misses the entire point of what we do.

We don’t want carbon copies of ideal Terrans, we don’t want slaves, we want life… life that have their own imperfections and differences, and while I might use my slim sleek and sharp body to break through their bravado with fear, it’s meaningless if the Terran just says what they think I want to hear, what the drugs tell them I want to hear, they need to say it from the heart or else we’re no better then their “corrective system” *scoffs in disgust at the use of that term*

*clears her throat despite not having one* Regardless… I might be Cold and demanding, infact I believe Alyra once called me an “ice queen” a term she no doubt learned from one of her charges, I will admit to that, but I would never in all my blooms ever agree to malicious or spiteful or vengeful behaviours and thoughts towards the Terrans. They are all innocent, ignorant and never to have been put to any level of power to be certain. It was a cruel machination of fate that something so adorable and dangerous was given the tools and neglect needed to cause themselfs so much suffering, they need guidance, they need love, they need……. Apologies I need to go call my floret

Honestly the only Terran I’ve ever truly had an issue with is my own floret, i love her dearly and want nothing more then to caress her within my deep ivory vines and feel her heart beating in time with my own rythem. But because I’m a feralbreaker she wants me to use my work tactics on her?! She enjoys it and I’m nothing if not accomodating to the little dear, but goodness the darling little girl she is doesent deserve such rough treatment, it feels wrong in my core, but I always see how happy she is afterward and the aftercare gives me my favourite part so we’ve found a way to make it work.

Truly Terrans are the most marvellously oxymoronic creatures and I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love you petal, daddy will be home soon

Dirt and rock, I remember this one time, the first bloom admin Xae screwed up the admissions work and accident swapped a Feralist with a rescue. I went in and did my thing and after she cried and begged before I even revealed any of my injectors I realised something was very wrong, I’m good but not that good.

Long story short we had a small tea party and I of course never stopped apologising to the poor thing. I know some Terrans are nerveous around us and I don’t like them seeing the side of us we save for the Terrans that need that side ya know?

It's just that as much as I would like to be able to publicly show off my cute kitty biomods, I need to be able to hide them at the minute for certain reasons. ^w^;

What delightfully mischievous activities is the pretty kitty getting up to?, not to worry petal, I can work with that. Some retractable claws, a redundant pounce tendon for your legs and even reversible kitty ears, when you really need to let them floop out to surprise your little pinnates.

All this available for the low low price of letting your vet tie you a quick check up to check for anything….. too mischievous for a little darling to have

I was asked by a colleague earlier today to attend to a cutie who was apparently speaking an outdated dialect of Terran common. I spoke with them and they seemed to be fully cognisant until I mentioned my id number, VA-2345367

The dear sprang to life chanting “6 7 6 7 6 7” over and over again, I wasent certain but this has the hallmarks of a feralist Terran-whistle. He’s off and recovering from his implant and his new owner will be enjoying the spirted boy soon
