My college program has ended!

I’ve got a dream, to finish my DCP!
Hello everyone!
Thank you so much for continuing to follow me on this adventure! I was in fact, offered an extension for my Disney College Program. However, I turned it down. So, I will be completing my program in about four weeks.
After finishing my program, I will tell you all about my experience with a bit more depth. Until then, feel free to keep submitting questions. I would love to answer them for you!
Choices!
I've just applied to extend my Disney College Program! I put down interest in roles other than QSFB, in hopes that maybe I can experience two roles during my program. I can't say for sure that I will extend if I get an offer but I put the application in just in case.
I also chose to drop my Disney class. I am still enrolled half time with my college and I wasn't going to get credit for that class. For those reasons, I thought it would best to drop it.
Keep asking questions! I love answering them.
Hi! I have a question! I got accepted for DCP Fall Advantage, and for onsite housing, I was wondering if they allow you to hang things on the walls with command strips or anything like that. I know they didn't for a while, but I heard somewhere that they just now allow it? I just wanted to know, thanks. :)
They do allow that. Command strips are allowed because they do not damage the walls. So feel free to stock up on some command strips before coming. Congratulations on your acceptance!
I just got done with my web interview and didn't make it so I'm really upset but I wanna apply for Spring 2016. I can reapply for 6 months so around late august. Will I have enough time to apply? When do the applications go out for Spring?
Spring applications are normally open from August-October. So you will have time to apply again, good luck!
Hey, I'm going to DCP in August. Are you Quick Service Food & Beverage because that's my role.
Yes! I am QSFB.
One month in!
Hey everyone! I can't believe it has been 4 weeks since I checked in for my Disney College Program! My last post was about check in and casting, so now it is time to fill you in about work!
I work at the All Star Music Intermission Food Court. At the beginning of my program I had a lot of early mornings but now I am starting to get a lot more evening shifts. (Which is okay with me, since I'm taking the bus and that means waking up SUPER early for morning shifts).
I haven't had too many problems with transtar yet but the times I have, my leaders have been understanding about it.
I like my job as a whole, of course it is challenging and has it ups and downs, the hours can be a bit long but I am really enjoying my time here.
If you have an specific questions feel free to leave them in my ask box. Also, keep an eye on my bucket list! I am always crossing things off as I finish them.
Have a magical day!
Check in and Casting!
Hey everyone! Now that I've had some time to settle into my apartment, I can tell you about check in and casting! I checked it at 9:45 AM. Here's a rundown of the way it went for me:
1. Get a program guide
2. Find out my work location
3. Find out where my apartment was
4. Get a housing ID
5. Get my key
6. Go to various tables to get paperwork like my week's itinerary, I-9 form, etc.
7. Talk with Disney education, safety and housing
That was it! The whole process took about one hour.
I had casting the next day at 10:30, there isn't too much to say about casting (and not much and can tell or show you) but you will do three very important things.
1. Finish your I-9 form
2. Find out your training schedule
3. Do fingerprints/background check
This process took just under two hours.
Overall, I felt this was a good introduction to the program. I will keep updating this blog through the process. Feel free to ask questions!
It just hit me...
My Disney College Program is almost here! After dreaming about this for so long, I am incredibly grateful to have this opportunity. Thank you to those of you who have decided they want to follow me on this journey thus far!
If you are a DCP hopeful or if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in my ask box.
Lastly, to my fellow Spring 2015 cast members, see ya real soon!
