Inspiration Needed...

Lexi walked around trying to find some kind of inspiration but nothing seemed to help, so she sat down and started going through what she had already written. She sighed out loud as she heard someone sit down next to her.

“You need some help?” Alyssa asked “What’s it about?”

“The top ones would be great.” Bijou replied, smiling sheepishly at the helpful girl. “The library. I promised to turn in all my old books.”

Alyssa took the top ones from the girl “How long have you had these books for?” She asked with a  chuckle “there’s a lot here”

“It’s alright, it was just getting a little bit weird. You seemed to be very deep in thought.”

Alyssa smiled “Yeah I was. It happens often but I can’t just keep spacing out like that” she rubbed her eyes from the lack of sleep she’d been getting recently “it’s worse when I’m tired”

“OH–YES, PLEASE.”, bijou said as she clumpsily tried to get through the door without dropping any of the boxes she was carrying.❞

“Okay, where are we taking them to?” She asked “If you set the boxes down it might be easier for me to grab a few or I could just take the top ones”

––– ‘ No, I’m good. ’ Luna replied a tad out of breath as she continued to struggle with hauling up the boxes. ‘ Who are you, though ? ’

“Okay, well if you’re sure? You just looked like you needed help” the girl looked like she was struggling it was only fair to offer help “I’m Alyssa”

“You’ve been staring at me for like five minutes now, and it’s starting to freak me out… Can I help you with something, or is this just something you do?”

“Oh shit, I’m sorry. I must have spaced out”

“That’d actually be great, thanks. I’m pretty sure the cup actually jumped out of my hand, hence…” Aurora gestured to the mess of loose papers quickly soaking up the puddle of coffee she spilled onto the desk. “You wouldn’t happen to be carrying a towel, would you? Or just some tissues?”

“Sorry no, this sort of thing happens to me all the time so you’d think I’d be prepared with towels and tissues but I’m not” Alyssa took her cardigan off ”we’ll just use this” she said laying it over the puddle of coffee.

“Class just ended and… I thought it was a good idea to wake you up.”

“Oh gosh, I’m surprised the teacher didn’t notice. Thank you”

“Probably The Goonies, Stand by me and the lost boys. I’m into my independent movies too. Do you have a favorite?”

“Nice to meet you Grant, I’m Alyssa” she smiled “do you know your way around the place yet? I can show you around if you’d like”

“Well, just visiting my parents back in London. Didn’t do much though. But how have you been? Anything special happen while I was away?”

“Oh, what’s London like? I’ve been okay, just plodding along, getting on with classes nothing exciting.”

“And… I’m back!”

“Welcome back, where have you been? Somewhere nice I hope”

“Here, we can quickly go grab a drink. I don’t want you fainting in the hallways.”

“Sounds perfect” Alyssa laughed “no fainting in the hallways, got it.” she smiled as she packed the rest of her books “are you new here? I don’t think I’ve seen you around until today.”

Just the smallest touch, the smallest words uttered from someone you love can make your heart melt but the smallest touch, the smallest words uttered can also be the ones that break your heart

Cole could only frown while listening and after Alyssa finished he dared to speak: “Wait, was I the first guy to invite you out, because it totally sounded like that?”

“Not the first no but you are the second, I was in a relationship but it didn’t end too well and it was after that ended that I withdrew myself from everything and everyone”  she flinched at the memories that flooded her mind but forced a smile “it’s in the past now though and I guess when bad shit happens you kind of loose sight of what’s real”
