The 21st birthday was a rite of passage for many in the world. For some, it marked true adulthood, and for others, it was a time to celebrate with friends in a night full of drinking. It was all too boring for Mari. She’d seen it all before in countless movies, books, and shows. It was so popularized that it no longer felt special to do anything within the norm.
