what if I said nicolas cage was the worst thing that happened to noir?

okay let’s break it down before everyone gets mad 😭

first of all, we literally lost the plotline about him being young and living in a post-ww1 New York and how he grapples with that, wanting to enroll into college and also wanting to make an impact at the same time

second of all, when the hell was he a private investigator, genuinely? wasn’t he supposed to study science or something? and even then, he never really worked as a PI until the 2025 comics (which lowkey suck btw) 😞

recently, they’ve been going with the cliches of a classic noir movie, which okay, sure, but you don’t have to do that. we are literally never getting a socialist noir bc these people just want more money

also about the new show i genuinely haven’t even gotten through the first episode despite having read most of his comics (all of his standalone comics)

i can’t get through him being old. it takes away from the charm of him brooo

and because they killed off this universe’s version of Mary Jane

guys WE DON’T NEED A FEMME FATALE. Okay, you kept felicia as a femme fatale BUT WHY ARE YOU STILL PAIRING HER WITH NOIR WHEN EVERYONE WAS JUST ACKNOWLEDGING SHE WAS GROOMING HIM 😭😭

thoughts on noirverse mj (she’s my favorite character who does no wrong and i only accept compliments about her ❤️)

.. well the her in my mind. Mj in general is such a good character, so this isnt a dig on her or anything, but more about how they should have had her do more within the noirverse!

I've sort of inserted her into the parkers in the noirverse because of the crumbs that imply that she worked at the welfare center before EWOAF. I like to think of her and Peter as childhood friends in this universe that grew a distant as they got older, but definitely get really close again after EWOAF.

in my mind I've based some of her backstory in the noirverse off of hers in 616, with the not too great homelife. I feel like if her and Pete were neighbors as kids she could be able to go over there to escape it and they could become friends :,]

Plus I think her being into performance and the arts is such a great narrative tool as a mode to insert some hope into this bleak ass world.

^ adding this kind of vibe to the noirverse. It would juxtapose pete really well (as well as felicia..)
