As Pride celebrations around the country are underway, we lost another trans woman, this time directly at the hands of the state. Layleen Polanco Xtravaganza was found dead in her cell on Rikers Island today. She was scheduled to be released on the 13th. Layleen was a member of the legendary house of Xtravaganza and beloved in the NYC lgbtq community. Officials at Rikers, notorious for its abuse and in a long process to be closed, claim that there was no foul play suspected. We call bullshit. While Pride month is a celebration, itâs also a moment to reflect on the conditions which led to a need for such a celebration in the first place. Today, we are reminded of why Marsha P Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Ms Majors, and the other courageous trans women at the Stonewall Inn rebelled in the first place. They resisted state violence, and fought for a world that would acknowledge their dignity and worth as humans and as women. They fought for a world that has yet to to exist. We have a responsibility to build that world, not just for them, but for Layleen and all the other trans women stolen from us too soon. Rest in power Layleen Xtravaganza.
STOP DISTURBING WOMEN YOU ARE NOT READY FOR.
Me blocking and deleting all the people who I wanted to be in my life, but didnât deserve me

these white women living in literal black face are the least deserving people when it comes to sympathy for people impacted by body dysmorphia. you have countless non-white young girls suffering from internalized self hatred as a direct consequence of eurocentric beauty expectations and an environment that reaffirms this view yet you want us to turn the other cheek to women who call us slurs and in the same sentence proclaim their love of âexoticâ men? no bitch!
Theyâre fixated on a highly sexualised idea of Black and mixed women. They dont need to do any of this to gain access to resources or respect, white women on Instagram and society at large do just fine without any of it. There is alot to say of the impact of social media on how you see your self but this isnât just that
white women arenât harmed and often arent even aware of how women of colour internalise eurocentric ideas and changing them selves out of self hate but some of these women might become mothers of mixed kids and then what do those kids do that their mum thinks of them in terms of a racialised ideas of sexual appeal? what might happen if Black and mixed women come in contact with them and these women are in positions of power?
They will grow up and wash the fake tan off and â returnâ to white society and giggle about their silly Black phase and wanting to look like â thatâ while the ideas about Black womens looks and bodies remain. Woc that recover from changing them selves to fit eurocentric will still live in a society that tells them to change and will often have years of work ahead and perhaps these white women might still have to deal with whatever body issues they have but there is no pressure to be Black
None of them need to do this to survive they way woc may need to
They know what theyâre doing, maybe not in detailed terms but theyâre chasing a racialised thrill
THISSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Y'all gotta stop âeducatingâ people with a tone that implies theyâre stupid for not knowing the shit already. Condescending asses.
Stop saying you are broke
Stop saying you donât have money. Stop it. Stop speaking spells over your life. Words mean so much. When you feel frustrated about financial things, say this:
Money comes to me easily and frequently.
Repeat it till you calm down. Then get to work to meet the universe halfway. You put it out there. Now make it happen. It worked for me. You can do it to. Money comes easily and frequently. Say it, believe it, make it happen.
