I'm from Finland and I dream to become a graphic novel artist. :'3 I'm probably genderfluid and I like pretty girls and cute boys. Another week over and still no Kaneki :D I slowly get the impression Ishida has other plans for Sasaki, but let’s focus on this weeks chapter 29. While reading I noticed a lot of references during Uries fight with Bid Madam and I just want to point them out ^^

about tooru mutsuki’s gender (tl;dr version)

he is male

he has been male since the start of tg:re and most likely before that if the flashback in ch5 has anything to say about it

he uses “ore” consistently, even in inner monologues. that is a strictly masculine japanese pronoun

it is unconfirmed whether trauma had something to do with him being trans (since trauma can affect the chemistry/thought process of the brain and that can change your self view including your gender, though it’s rare) and even if it does…

…his identity is no less valid than anyone else’s

…it doesn’t mean you can assume he MAY recover from said trauma and MAY “go back” to being female and use that as an excuse to misgender him. because 1) that assumes he identified as female in the past in the first place 2) that also invalidates the concept of genderfluidity, in that you’re refusing to acknowledge his gender in the present due to his possible change of gender in the past/future 3) whether any of that stuff about truma and/or him recovering ends up being true or not, he is male right now

Daily reminder that Tooru Mutsuki from Tokyo Ghoul: RE is a transgender male and refers to himself with he/him pronouns.

“I see…so you are…a woman?” said Urie, sniffing the air.  “No, Urie, you little shit,” Mutsuki replied. “My reproductive system is literally none of your business, and it does not make me a woman. I am a man.”

With that, Mutsuki slapped the promotion-obsessed Quinx with all his might, sending him flying across the room. Urie screamed “PROMOTIOOOOOOOOON” as he was catapulted through the air. He landed kagune-first on Big Madame, killing her. Mutsuki had saved them both.

“I’m a man,” he repeated.

“Yes sir,” Urie agreed, twitching. He lay covered in blood on top of Big Madame’s dead body. “I am sorry for misgendering you.” 

He then passed out.

“That was cool,” said Suzuya, who appeared out of nowhere with his squad.
