Since tumblr is going down the drain faster than usual, will you be moving to dreamwidth or pillowfort or similar? Or just hanging out here as long as the platform somewhat stands, even if most users migrate?

Tumblr was founded in 2007.

I joined in 2010.

In 2011 Tumblr started the “We are the 99%” slogan that the Occupy protest used. That was fun.

In 2012 it got an app! I didn’t start using it until 2016

In 2013, sponsored ads were added.

In 2015, Tumblr changed the code so we couldn’t edit other people’s reblogs and images anymore. We could, before. It was entertaining watching people get into an argument and then change the picture they were arguing about so it looked like someone was losing their shit over a can of soup on the ground. Ahhh, the good old days~

In 2015 we also had a big ‘ol panic over the copyright policy changing so it looked like even reblogging someone else’s work was banned. Rumors said blogs were suddenly banned for having reblogged copyrighted music. Panic ensued, hellsite is ending, etc.

Will Tumblr eventually crumble? Yeah, probably. I highly doubt it’ll be this year, or even early 2019. We got time.

I’ll go down with this ship. Most of the content I made is backed up somewhere anyway. I’ll make a big ‘ol official statement if I ever decide to head elsewhere.
