And do best friends always remain the best?
Are you fortunate enough that the best friend of your childhood—your bestie, buddy, partner-in-crime etc.—is still standing beside you with the same sly grin and mischievous eyes? Do the two of you still have the exact connection you had when you were six—of whenever you met? Good for you if you do still have that divine connection.
But today we talk about best friends.
And how losing a best friend is possibly the most underrated feeling.
It hurts like hell, and more songs and books should be written about it to describe the pain we go through when we lose a friend.
When we grow up, things change. We do too. And it's all so much more agonizing because we could all be just plain, stupid idiots in front of our best friends when we were younger, and they would still love us. We didn't need to be another in front of our best friends. It's so agonizing because we were just kids when we met—when we hit it off on the first day and then never again wondered if we were meant to be friends or not. We just were.
That's why it hurt so much.
We just were, and then all of a sudden we weren't.
Think about your best friend today.
