keep on meeting these guys on my runs, what’s their deal??
Just finished Ninth House and my only thoughts are that Dawes and Stern are such a realistically depicted and INCREDIBLE couple that it’s inevitable it doesn’t happen in canon.
I’m not a professional cosplayer, or even a consistent one, BUT for I did find a small hack to make armor for post top surgery folks. I sewed armor scales on to my old binders to create a quick breast plate for a ren faire costume as my dnd character.
types of short fic
listed as best I can from shortest to longest
6 word stories: exactly 6 words long
twitterature: 280 characters or less
7x7: exactly 49 words long (Blake’s 7 fandom)
dribble: exactly 55 words long (LoTR fandom, The Faculty fandom). The same word count was popular in both Harry Potter and Farscape, but without a specific name. Dribble is sometimes seen as a half-drabble that is therefore 50 words long.
drabble: exactly 100 words long
155 words: exactly 155 words long (X-Files fandom)
double drabble: exactly 200 words long
221B: 221 words long with the last word starting in B (Sherlock fandom)
trabble / tribble / trouble: exactly 300 words long
flash fiction: no exact word count, but generally less than 500 words (pro fiction)
pentadrabble:exactly 500 words long
short short: between 500 and 1000 words
ficlet, snippet: no exact word count needed, but generally 1K or shorter
list pulled together from Fanlore - feel free to add more fandom-specific ones!
Having a bad case of “I’m attracted to him but also he’s transition goals” which I think adds an interesting layer to the Clone debate.
I lied. I don’t actually like sex. Put your clothes back on I’m going to explain the entire plot of the Silmarillion to you.
Is the Beka Cooper copaganda?
A question I’ve been mulling over this past year because it doesn’t feel like it’s pro-cop because tortall is not the Us, and in fact a fantasy realm with fantasy laws and a fantasy logic? Plus the books were written before recent cultural discussion of cops in media.
At the same, Beka could almost represent a “not all cops” philosophy. Although the books themselves go into detail showcasing corruption in the guard.
I still think Beka is a fantastic heroine for young fantasy readers with an interesting murder mystery plot.
I guess does a fantasy town guard constitute as representation for real world American cops? Thoughts thoughts thoughts…

guy who starts testosterone and gets turned by a werewolf around the same time and has no idea what symptoms are from what, concerning both his trans friends who dont know he’s a werewolf and his werewolf friends he’s not out to
Reblogging so I can jam it into my dumb self insert twilight fic that also has nothing to do with the original plot
here are some interesting surnames I have seen on old graves:
*they’re not inherently “weird” or “rare”, they’re just names I noted for possible future use in my writing

He’s the horse thief

The most beautiful thing about Drawtectives is that you can choose any combination and you will be right. But no way I'm ignoring a beautiful garb next to York.
Initial Thoughts...
I just finished A Day of Fallen Night and my immediate first reaction is that both Dumai and Tane end their novels ambiguously being dead. And I kind of dislike that, but haven't spent enough time mulling over my thoughts to be coherent as to why. All I know is that I hope the next dragon rider doesn't dutifully and nobly sort of die/mysteriously survive a grievous wound to now wander in a spirit like state?
I dunno it's also been a minute since I've read Priory.
Otherwise, great book. Filled with a lot of dread and themes of motherhood and duty. Finished it in a week. Would absolutely recommend.
Hey, who was Queen Sabran the 6th's dream connection? Glorian's mother from ADoFN. Was it Unora, the Grand Empress of Seiiki, or Tonra? or someone else entirely? I think I missed a few clues.
