Who Are We? The Reign Cafe is a privately owned and operated role playing venue  located on the Balmung server of the Crystal data center. We are neither  a linkshell nor a free company, but rather a group of friends working  together, coordinating via Discord. Our mission is to host fun and exciting role playing events  for the community. The Ruthless Reign is our flagship event.

Haunted Hayride and Harvest Festival 

[Balmung - Oct 17 - 8EST - The Bannock, Central Shroud]

Free attendance, Costumes encouraged.

The Hayride: 

Groups of guests will be taken via Chocobo carriage and Chocobo porter through the winding path from The Bannock to Haukke Manor, experiencing the haunts and tales the mysterious Black Shroud.  An informal introduction to the history of the area will be accompanied by three spooky skits encountered along the way.

Groups will depart every 30 minutes, starting at 8:15  EST.

The Harvest Festival:

At Bannock proper, a Harvest Festival will be ongoing for those to enjoy before and after the Hayride.  Here you will find Food and drink, games, dancing, and a costume contest!

The Still & Strings is BACK for another night of inebriated patrons and sweet jams!

We’re opening our doors once more, celebrating the changing of seasons with an updated seasonal menu and another talent-packed show. We need to afford the fines we paid for late-night noise complaints, after all.

Come join us on November 6th, 2020, at the Lavender Beds, Plot 51, in the 12th ward’s subdivision. Doors open at 8 P.M. EST, and the show starts at 9!

FFXIV Write Prompt #21: Foibles

Rhythm Not Lyrics

“You are such a lovely dancer,” the miqo'te crooned to Itara, “But it would be so much better if you sang too!  What a show!" 

Itara’s blinding smile dropped off into a scowl that made anyone who had the pleasure of seeing it twice wet themselves.  "I am a dancer, not a singer,” she seethed, “Singing is not what I do.”

“But if you did-” The man started, only to be cut off again.

“I DO NOT SING,” she snapped, her grip on her whiskey glass so tight weaker vessels would have shattered.  “That is not what a DANCER does.  I do not NEED to sing."  Her golden eyes were set alight with a building rage that sent the aether around her swirling. 

"But it would be so much better- ah!"  The miqo'te ducked as the elezen threw her glass directly at his head.  Little did he know he was lucky that the lovely dancer standing before him held back the flames sparking at her fingertips.  "Hey! What was that for?"  

"Get out of my sight, you piece of trash,” the duskwight seethed, slowly stalking towards him.  “You wouldn’t know talent if it struck you in the face,  and it’s about too."  

The miqo'te’s ears flattened to his head.  "I- Miss, I- Um,” she stammered backward. Still, Itara’s eyes narrowed down on him, and the unease that filled the room led him to abandon his apologies and simply flee out the door.

Itara Irispyre was a dancer.

Itara Irispyre did not sing.

[Balmung - Central Shroud - OCT 17 - 8EST]

Hi Everyone!  

I want to put on this really fun event next month, but I am but one small person, and I need HELP! 

What is the Haunted Hayride? Exactly what it sounds like!  A carriage will take guests through the Central Shroud and experience the haunts therein.  On their loop, which will be making a stop by the spooky Haukke Manor, the riders will observe 3 short skits to terrify, amaze, and amuse. 

I’ve set up a discord server for the planning and organization of this event!  Please join there if you are interested in helping out with this really fun thing.  This can’t happen without you! ♥

Yang sighs, dragging himself onto the edge of the bed, teeth clenched. The dull throb radiates from his upper thigh down towards his leg, turning the muscle stiff, weighting down his bones. “Damn it,” he curses, baring his fangs in frustration, eyes shut tight. “Stupid bullet. Either finish the job, or have the decency to stay put.”

The Gridanian healers did what they could. But with the bullet embedded so close to his femoral artery, and Yang deemed too weakened by other injuries, they’d opted to close up the wound, and monitor it for the time being. “Ah, f—f —!” Sharp, stabbing pain, always so suddenly. “It—it’s raining outside, isn’t it?”

“I think so,” the dark-haired, dark-skinned Miqo’te lying next to him answers, shifting with worried speed. He rests his hands on Yang’s shoulders, then starts rubbing softly. “Want me to start up a warm bath?”

“P-please,” Yang swallows, exhausted. “Afterwards, I think I’ll go back to bed.”

“Lazy,” the other Miqo’te teases, blue eyes filled with affection. “But I forgive you.” He kisses the bare on Yang’s shoulder, then steps away from the bed. “Want me to use some of that medicated oil we bought at the onsen?”

“Please,” Yang repeats, monosyllabic. “I, uhh, love you.”

“I love you too,” repeats Mar’sae from the entrance to the room, a bright smile in his words.

Starting Saturday, July 25th, Sonja Rysti’s art Gallery will be open for public and private viewings! The artist himself will be there on Saturday starting at 2 PM Pacific, on Monday the 27th at 2 PM Pacific, Friday the 31st at 2 PM pacific, and Saturday August 1st at 2PM Pacific - but feel free to come in at any time to see the art or just relax!

there’s a misconception that grief only happens when we lose people. this is not true. we can grieve circumstances, relationships, missed opportunities. in fact, sometimes when you find yourself plagued with waves of emotion from sadness to melancholy you may be grieving yourself. the version of yourself that you might have been if things had been different, or if only you had said something, or if someone had stood up for you.
