I have two books to write releasing in the first half of the year. This will be my accountability post where I'll update word counts and share thoughts/rambles as I write. The first book needs to be finished by ideally by January but February is the hard deadline, and the second by March at the latest. I have some wiggle room, but I also have another book to start releasing in the summer, so I have to knock these two out early. For both books, I'm aiming for a minimum of 50K words. I still need to plot/finish outlining both, but I have the base of the stories set. Today, I'm working on developing my characters, and this weekend I'll hopefully start actually writing.
For book 2 I have contacted an artist who will do the character designs for me! So that’s super exciting. They’re super reasonably priced and did work for another author I love. The cover designs for book 1 has been decided and I’ve sent my cover info over. Book 1 is releasing in 4 months…that’s not a lot of time so hopefully I won’t be rushing last minute so I gotta stick to my timeline. I’m still ironing out some parts of the plot but it’s getting there.
Updates:
My editor is on hiatus for the first half the year which sucks. He’s offered to help find editors so that’s nice. I’ve also reached out to one and I’ll be reaching out to another tomorrow.
Words so far none officially but I’ve been plotting away and writing some passages. I’m a pantser but I’m trying to get myself into the habit of having a decent outline before diving in.
Come January I need to focus and hopefully finish my first draft.
Editor secured and dates confirmed. I have two months to finish up my draft for book 1 before forwarding it to my editor.
